Holds up the franchise with the same food found in other states where I've eaten here. Long lines but they get the food out quickly.

When you first walk in you don't know where to go to order. Very confusing. Hot dog not very good. Don't waste your time or money.

First time I went to Portillos it was really good! Second time it was awful. Got a chili cheese dog with onion rings. Rings were good, Chili chees dog was nasty. It tasted off is the best way I can describe it. And it was the actual hot dog that tasted like it was going bad. Unfortunately, I was at work when I ate it because this was my lunch. I only work ten minutes away so I know it didn't go bad in my possession. Will not be going back. read more

Had the order to go- dogs, fries, onion rings. Live 15 minutes away by the time I got home the buns were so soggy there was nothing holding anything together. The dogs themselves were still tasty but next time we will DINE IN. The fries and rings were hot dog stand ok. read more

Being from Chicago was a longtime fan of Portillo's. Until we dined at their new store in Glendale, AZ. My favorite sandwich is the Italian Beef with sweet peppers. To my surprise it wasn't much larger than my wife's Chicago Dog. Used to need two hands to eat it. Not anymore. I believe the price has increased as well. I will now return to Dazzo's. read more

Me and my husband went to eat here and the lady that was giving the soda was rude. She was not friendly and just seemed like getting your cup of soda was a bother. No smile -nothing. I didn't get her name though but wish i did. Second thing that we were bothered by was one of the employees was literally right next to our booth sweeping right next to us while we were eating. We asked him to stop & suggested maybe hold off while people are eating because dust/dirt could be going up in air. Just seems like its not very sanitary. I could reach out and touch him thats how close he was. We love you trying to keep place clean but maybe sweep by a booth when the customer leaves not while they are still eating. read more

Buyer Beware! if you are from Chicago or suburbs do NOT expect the same taste experience. I have been going to Portillo since the little shack in Villa Park,...yes, I am that old. Since moving to Tucson 21 years ago have been waiting to enjoy a Vienna all beef hot dog from Portillo. Was in the Glendale area and stopped . The hot dog wasAWFUL!! Mushy and grey. Looking around I noticed that the familiar red and yellow VIENNA ALL BEEF signs were conspicuously absent. Wish I had known this before ordering....I would have left. Also...and this is disappointing to one from Chicago, they don't have tamales!! Skip Portillo if you are used to the Chicago taste. I can't even imagine anyone liking this mush regardless of where they are from. read more

Best experience ever considering the circumstance. It's opening week , it's shift change and yes my "first sandwich" was soaking wet!!! I parked my car from the drive-through walked in to a very crowded in a good way lobby and the staff and management corrected my order immediately. The quickness isn't even why am giving this place five stars it's the attitude in which they received my complaint and then re-served me with the correct "perfect "order. So many places nowadays have lost what customer service really means and I have to say the new Arrowhead Portillos definitely has put customer service at the top of their to do list and I will be back!!!! read more

w We've been here twice - the first time, they gave us the wrong drinks with our order - we let it go. Today we went there again and ordered 2 Italian Bowls - the order repeated Beef Bowls so I corrected her. We got one bowl so we told a guy who was running back and forth and he corrected it. Got home and we got two bowls full of beef. No Italian bowls with beef and a meatball that is on their online menu. You just lost our business. read more

On 9-11-21 about 11:15AM, I went to this place, they have you weave around a parking lot, on to a side-street (unless you want to cut across parking slots, I did and almost hit another car trying to park), finally got to the drive through line and the car ahead of me took 5 minutes to order. The attendant standing outside by the order placard took cash from the driver and made change, wasn't wearing gloves or a mask. When I finally ordered they got the order wrong I found out when I got home (always check your order before you leave any drive-through), THEY LEFT THE VEGETABLES OFF THE ITALIAN BEEF SANDWICH! Do you have to ask for it? I thought the vegetables came with it automatically or did the attendant check a box saying "no vegetables." What I did get was good but very disappointing in other ways. Plus they have a real parking lot problem that is NOT safe, be careful in that lot if you go, there's a lot going on that can be confusing. read more

babes and myself are long time Portillo's lovers and regulars. we usually have to drive all the damn way out of the way to Avondale so we were pumped when this location opened up near us. we've been a few times and never had an issue until today. to be fair we did order a BUNCH of food through the drive thru and when we got it it was all correct just missing a few essentials like aus ju and cheese sauce! by the time we made it home I was so hungry I could have cried but nevertheless we turned around to get our stuff. we requested for all the food to be remade since we couldn't complete any of the items without the sauces and toppings! we were expecting push back on a request to remake 50 dollars worth of food. NO! no pushback at all. Manager Max totally spoiled us! he insisted on remaking our food, (along with extra of the sauces and toppings we were originally missing), then on top of that a gift card to cover our next visit. this is what true customer service is and Portillo's is doing it right! thanks so much to Max and the team for getting us right. read more

Terrible. From the moment we walked up to the building. To the left of the door was a speaker blaring out 50's music so loud it was cracking. I thought to myself as I opened the door "I pray it's not that loud inside". To the right, there was a family smoking cigarettes at the closest patio table next to front door. Is that even allowed? I was disgusted. As we entered I was thrown off by the 50's burgers and shakes vibe as I thought this was more Chicago/ Italian dining. I know online it showed spaghetti and meatballs but this location didn't have it. So it's very inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, I love me some 50's cafes with awesome burgers, malts and fries. So now I was excited to order that. If you're going to go with that theme, you have to at least nail it. It better be good shakes, burgers, onion rings and fries. So now we get up to counter to order, this is where things get a little confusing......there's no instructions on what to do next. The whole drink situation is really confusing. We are in Arizona and it's hot! Did not realize you have to wait for your drinks until your foods ready. What? That's insane. My husband got a beer. Didn't realize that's a separate line as opposed to a soda. I couldn't wait any longer as I was hot so got up off the table to ask about my drink. I felt bad as many people were still in line waiting for their food. As I walked back to the table with my drink I noticed that there were quite a large number of employees working. Which is great. I wondered at the same time if anyone told the couple that they couldn't smoke on the patio or that if they even cared. I looked down and noticed the floor was tile. And it was so filthy. I thought to myself "wow, for a brand new building and this many staff, you would think it would be clean". As I sat right back down, our number was called. I got back up and got the food which was all wrapped "to go" style even though we were eating in. What a waste of paper and plastic bags. I sat back down again, realizing something was missing. Got back up to the counter. At this point this was my 3rd time back to counter to ask for something. The same people were in line waiting for food. I felt so guilty every time I went to counter but I shouldn't have to. I go back to table, sit back down, open all our "to go" food packaging and realize they don't serve any sort of sauces for the onion rings. So now I'm back to the counter my 4th time. I absolutely am so disappointed at this point as I want to be served when I go out. Otherwise I would've stayed home. I start eating and the food is just not good. Remember, it's a theme, you better nail it. I was surprised when I asked for ranch it was just store bought bottle style ranch and not homemade. Yuck. So now that I've finally settled in the table and start conversating with my guests I realize, "omg the music is so loud I can't even hear us talking to one another". At the same time, the employees are calling out over the loud speakers names and numbers of food orders SO LOUD that they are screaming and you can't even understand them. Then a alarm of sort goes off in the kitchen for a long time. Not like a fire alarm but a timer alarm letting them know somethings ready and it took them forever to shut it off. So now there's loud terrible music screaming, employees screaming over the speakers and a terrible high pitch alarm going off all at the same time. I have never said this in my life at a dining establishment but I said to my guests, "you can't get me out of here quick enough, let's go". The moment we opened the doors, it was the most relieving, satisfying feeling to walk out of there. Clearly, I will never go back. Absolutely terrible experience. How sad, and they actually built the building as opposed to maybe leasing out another space. By the way, it's not typical of me to complain. My husband and I eat out about 5 days a week and I'm in my mid 40's so music and noise doesn't normally bother me. read more

First time here, but, may return. Unsure. Noisy as hell. Tried the Jumbo Beef Hot Dog. Taste was good, but, appearance sucked. Both were completely smashed by not placing them in a paper boat & the paper was wrapped so tightly that the bun was as thick as a pice if cardboard & super soggy making the appearance looking gross. Had tonuse knife & fork to eat bc th bun just fell apart when we tried to pick thm up. The fries were good, but, the onion rings get a big ZERO. Worse onions rings I've ever had in my 65 years if eating onion rings. There were only 6 rings that we also the tiniest and most over cooked that I have ever had. Half of the 6 were missing the actual onion in the burnt flavored crust. Just horrible. These owners need to go see what good onion rings are at a Oeye' Fish & Chips. Refills are available on the drinks, so, a "small" size is plenty. Tried the chocolate cake. Good & chocolately, but, over-priced for the quantity. Won't order, again. As we walked by a table, we saw a regular size Chili Cheese Dog. It was completely smashed & looked as if someone had sat/stepped on it. The young lady's facial expression of "disgust" said it all. The hot dogs sold in Home Depot's parking lots and on street corners look so much morr appetizing. Why they don't spend 2 cents on paper boats & train their staff not to squish/smash the hot dogs by wrapping them too tightly is beyond me. Photos next time. read more
