If you're in Chicago, you must try a Chicago dog. Portillo's does the job and, while it tastes good, it's not my favorite spot to get a Chicago dog. But it served a purpose and the dining room is kinda fun and kitschy. Also, the prices are very reasonable, I think it costs like $5-6 for the Chicago style hotdog. we ordered our meal at the kiosk so we didn't really interact with any employees.

Portillo's is always a Chicago staple, so I can always appreciate getting a nice Chicago Style hot dog to hit the spot here! I'm also a huge fan of their chopped salad since it's packed with lettuce, onions, blue cheese, bacon, and chicken. I also got to try their chicken tenders and onion rings recently, and I was a huge fan of their new giardinera sauce. It's tangy and flavorful, but I just wish it had more of a kick to it! The service is always amazing when I come to this location. They're quick and always get my order right. I met the marketing manager here once, and he was extremely friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is like most portillo's with a drive through and a ton of parking. It is on a busy corner, so it does get packed at times. I do enjoy that they have a lot of seating and that you can order on a kiosk.

This location is large, modern, and well lit. There are examples of the eclectic decor like some of the older locations that had more of that authentic personality. The taste and quality was pretty much the same as the other two locations I've been to (Taylor St, Chicago and Schaumburg). To order, there are a few kiosks near the entrance. HOT TIP, there is a Take Out window at the end of the main dining area which may be a good option. I'm not sure if our order was called out in a rhyming style (like the other 2 locations). Staff appeared to be friendly and professional.

You know you're in Illinois when you see Portillo's! They offer staples such as Chicago style dogs and Italian beef sandwiches. I dined in with my family- all of us ordering a beef sandwich. It only came with beef- the peppers are extra. The beef was flavorful and bun was soft but did not justify an $11 price tag for a fast food sandwich. The restaurant was clean and staff provided my family's order in a timely manner.

Man oh man!! Portillo's is TOOOOOO GOOD. I wanted to go to Mr. Beef BUT didnt have the time so my colleague said you have to have Portillo's. Of Course I'm a skeptic so I am like it can't be that good. Welllll... Portillo's is TOO good. I kept hearing about the Italian beef and mannnnnn does that meat taste delicious. It is so tender. I had the sweet and spicy. What a great combo? And it really is NOT that spicy but it is good. That sweetnesss. The team was kind and kept the line moving. You can also watch them make your food which was pretty cool. It is a huge inside with and outdoor patio. It kind of reminded me of a carnival theme. It was really nice on the inside. Apparently the chocolate cake isa must so I have to try it next time with the Chicago hot dog. There's a huge parking lot and a clean bathroom.

Should be a 3.5. After reading the reviews, I understand what people are saying about your order being wrong. Check before you drive/walk away! You order on a kiosk and wait for your food to come out. We received a chicken sandwich instead of a burger. They were good about it when I went up to tell them, they made the burger right away. I really love the cheeseburger from Portillo's, and this time I got the one with onion rings and BBQ sauce on it. Next time I will just get the cheeseburger. My mom got the Italian beef and thought it needed more flavor. As always, the cheese fries are delicious. Seating- tons of seating. Lots of options for small and big groups. The restaurant is large. Parking - huge lot, you'll find a spot.

Came to visit Portillo's at Chicago. We brought my sister in law and husband for them to taste. They loved it that they came back next day place is nice and food is just Chicago style. I do recommend this restaurant to all the family

There's many locations available, we went to the one located in Downtown Chicago PORTILLO'S CHICAGO - ADDISON 3343 W. Addison Street Chicago, IL 60618 There was a large parking lot available which was great being in a downtown location. We ordered almost everything, the Italian beef sandwich which they soaked in its au jus before they wrapped it up. The Chicago dogs has all the fixing if you like it loaded. We tried the chopped salad, portion was huge! Plus the milkshake, we had the Strawberry & the chocolate cake shake, my daughter had that & said that it seriously tasted like chocolate cake! If you are ever in Chicago, do try Portillo's. It is Chicago's iconic fast food chain. We loved the retro decorations in the restaurant. They are busy, be prepared to wait for your food, despite being busy, we managed to get a table for 8.

$10 for this. No I didn't get any of it before I took the pic.
    Truth I.

Small portion. Big price. Nothing special. DoesytKe cash in drive through. Why are they paying people to stand outside and take orders? Is that why the food is so expensive? I'm not sure what all the hoopla was about this place.

The food is generally solid, and usually the service is pretty good. But today??? Holy crap, the service was awful. It was not busy at all (I came in around 3:45 in the afternoon). Stood for about 5 minutes waiting to be seated, despite two employees being within 10 feet. I finally was seated, and I ordered a Diet Coke which came promptly, then waited at least 15-20 minutes for someone to take my order. My waitress (short, dark hair in a bun) just stood around chatting with other employees, wandering around, etc. I think I was the only customer in the dining room, but they just completely ignored me. I finally walked up to the bar and asked to pay for my diet Coke, as I had no intention of waiting around forever to order food. I probably could have just walked out without paying without them even noticing, given how inattentive the employees were, but I'm too honest to do that. I really hope this was just a one-off and that the service overall hasn't gone downhill consistently over the last 6 months or so. But I was super disappointed at how bad the service sucked today, given that there were about 7 times as many employees as there were customers when I went. I'm giving 2 stars in recognition of previous good experiences I've had here, but today's experience....ooof. Do better, Rockwell's.

I think it's a super fun nostalgic play on the classic Spaghetti O's. Of course these were way better, with the vodka sauce and meatballs. We walked in on a Saturday around 5:20pm, and were told it would be about a 20-30 minute wait, which was fine. We left, but ended up going back after 5 minutes to ask if we could just sit at the bar to order a drink while we waited. The hosts were super friendly and allowed us to do that, even though I think bar seating was part of the reserved seating. A couple minutes after we ordered our drinks, the friendly hostess came and let us know there was a cancellation so we could be seated at a table right away. To drink, I ordered the Secret Third Thing and it was delicious. Along with the Spaghetti Uh-O's, we also ordered the cabbage, which is cooked until it is tender and served almost like a caesar salad. My boyfriend got the fried chicken vesuvio and it was served in a fun bag with a personal sauce container. The chicken was fried perfectly and had a nice crisp. It only comes with maybe 3 little potatoes. We also got the focaccia and the garlic honey butter was soo good!

My wife had the Spaghetti o's which was great with clever presentation, but over salty, even for her who salts everything. She said she would not get it again. The focaccia was good, but the honey whipped butter stole the show. Ravioli (sweet corn, polenta, goat cheese and ricotta with candied jalapeño) was unique, tasty and tender with fresh pasta. Moody, fine dining Filipino restaurant in ravenswood/north center Chicago…read more The experience of this place really starts when you enter the restaurant. I was a big fan of the interior. Dark moody lighting with warm colored lamps really sets the tone for the meal you are about to eat. Service was incredibly kind and attentive. Everyone's so lovely. The food is exactly what you'd expect - elevated Filipino and overall INCREDIBLE. Here's what we got/my thoughts. Coco ginger daiquiri - 5/5 - really refreshing. You could taste each component of the drink which was fun to experience. Sisig - 4/5 - I'll start by saying I'm really particular about my sisig. For sisig to be a 5 for me, it *has* to be crunchy. And that's the only thing this sisig was missing. For coming out on a sizzling plate, it was a little too wet, even after the sizzling. Despite this though, the flavors were there and they were delicious. Garlic rice - 5/5 - best garlic rice I've ever had in my life. Just get it. That's all I have to say. Pancit canton - 4/5 - if I'm being honest, it's hard to really elevate pancit canton. But this was a good attempt, it just seemed to be missing something to put it over the top. Really appreciated the fresh vegetables with the noodles. Lumpia - 5/5 - like pancit canton, it seems hard to elevate lumpia but they freaking did it. This was so good. The filling was nice and juicy and had great flavor. Kare Kare - 5/5 - Kare Kare was my favorite dish growing up but I've never experienced it elevated to such a high level until boonies. The meat was so tender, cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The vegetables being carmelized was also quite the treat. Didn't realize until after the fact that the sauce isn't made with peanuts, so huge plus that gives our peanut allergic friends the opportunity to experience such an amazing dish. So well done.

This was a great, cozy spot to try a different take on Filipino food. Being a Filipina myself, I'm…read moretorn between labeling it because I feel like some of the dishes are more Filipino-inspired while others are definitely elevated-Filipino. Either way, it's a good place to try a twist on your favorites or dip into something new. I especially appreciated that there were a lot of vegetarian options which is hard to find in Filipino food, like our "veggie" lumpia usually has small bits of meat in it, lol. We were warmly welcomed, seated relatively quickly, and the service was attentive and timely. The place is cozy and on the dark side so my pics aren't the greatest. We had the Inihaw ng Talong which is basically grilled eggplant that came brushed with sunflower butter, loaded with tomatoes and garnished with cilantro. This was a nice start but a small one. The eggplant was smoky and creamy and complimented by the bright tomatoes. The Satti Manok, skewered grilled chicken, with cornbread sticky rice was good, but I've definitely had better for a lot less. This is usually a staple you'll find at any Filipino family's BBQ but the cornbread sticky rice was a surprisingly nice treat. If you've had this before, somewhere else, I'd skip it to try something else. The Sinigang Caesar was such a nice twist that totally made sense! My only complaint is that it was served with Bibb lettuce instead of a crunchy romaine. I enjoyed this so much I've been making my Caesar dressings with a sprinkling of Sinigang powder now and my family loves it. The Kare Kare gulay was nice and I enjoyed it. The charred cabbage gave it some extra depth that I think is needed to pull this off because this sauce is made with sunflower butter instead of peanut butter. This was great for me because I'm allergic to peanuts but it definitely changes the flavor, making it a little sweeter and lighter. I wish they would've made this with cashew or almond butter to keep it closer to the rich, deep flavors of a Kare Kare. The Maitake mushrooms -- I absolutely loved. I've never had this before and it reminded me of a good Laing which is also made with a spiced coconut sauce. I definitely could've eaten this all to myself with the garlic rice. Yes, the garlic rice is good but I was surprised to see it go for $6 a bowl. Rice is usually so cheap, if not complementary in Filipino restaurants and garlic rice is quite common, especially for breakfast (yes, I sabreakfast). It was cooked perfectly though. The mango float was delicious. Not sure why it's called a float but it was mango and mascarpone ice cream nestled in a mango sauce and topped with a delicate, crumbly butter cookie. I will definitely come back for more if I'm ever in the area again. I'd be excited to try other things on their menu.
