They had the whitefish liver appetizer which we found is unique cuisine to the area and is amazing. Probably the best part of our meal. I had the whitefish and my wife had the trout - both were very good. This restaurant offers fantastic views of Lake Superior with friendly helpful service. It's a nice easy drive only a few miles away from Bayfield.

I was really dissappointed with my food (prime rib sandwich) and my wife thought her white fish wasn't very good either. also, the service was pretty slow. I think maybe you just are paying for the view.

Had the peppercorn steak. Was delicious! Their salad and bread was super tasty! Beautiful view of the south marina. Ordered some beachy/summer cocktail and it was really awful, super watered down- this was the only bad thing. Service was friendly and nice!

I came here for a fish fry just after Memorial Day and the outdoor seating weather was perfect for my pup. The patio overlooks Lake Superior, with a few buildings across the street blocking a bit of the view. It's a nice downtown spot so there are plenty of people out and about walking by the patio. I typically prefer a traditional Old Fashioned, but when in super northern Wisconsin, do as they do. I got a Wisconsin Old Fashioned and it was great. I even ordered a second one! The veggie dumpling soup was beyond my expectations -- I would have just eaten a bunch of bowls of that all night if I hadn't been set on fish fry. I got the Lake Superior Whitefish fry (Lake Superior was right across the street, how could I not?), which was just ok. The sides were great - french fries and green beans are a Wisconsin match made in heaven. The fish was alright, a bit fishier than I'm used to but that just might be a Lake Superior whitefish thing? Still, I found about 6 bones in the fish fry and I've never had that issue at a restaurant fish fry before. I usually give a few bites to my dog but was nervous on this one. So, overall a great experience and a fun place to stop by. I'd recommend checking them out.

I wish I remembered the name of our server because she was so attentive while practically running the front of house by herself, I wish I could give her a specific shout out. The restaurant itself is a classic small town tavern with the dark wood bar, comfy booths, and a gorgeous painted tin ceiling. The food was also pretty good - the cheese curds are a MUST get. The rest of the food was slightly too salty and the fish was just a tad dry but the tartar sauce and coleslaw were both to die for and the fries were fantastic. Overall we enjoyed our time here and would definitely go back.

The outdoor patio and sunset views are unbelievable and perhaps worth 3 star food. However, be prepared for a pretty obnoxious group of other patrons and staff. It's a mess from that perspective. The first night was my birthday and the sunset was one of the longest and most dramatic I've ever seen. I will treasure that memory, but the second night did enough to make it unlikely I'd go back again unless it was the only thing opened.

Madeline Island is already quaint and intimate yet almost every patron makes small talk in a nice way. We met a cute poodle named Tommy on the patio and the owner allowed me to feed him some of my fabulous pork apple meal. There is a wide variety of food and cocktails. My husband and I split the Caesar salad with chicken (the chicken was not that great so I recommend omitting that) and then he had the pot pie and I had the apple pork with potatoes. Everything was flavored well and felt comforting. For dessert, we split the apple pie. The staff even warmed it up for us. Thank you!!

The service and food is consistently great. Its location is cool - in the middle of the woods. It's comfortable and pretty inside. You're not squished together. The dining room is large and they have a party room they can open up. There's also a large bar on the other end of the building and a patio area. They usually have several specials on the chalk board. I usually get the 1/2 rack of ribs. They are FANTASTIC. Super tender and the sauce is great. I've also had their chicken wings - great! On our most recent trip (the last week and a half) - I had the ribeye special with the loaded baked potato and coleslaw. It was cooked perfectly and super tasty. I left a few toppings off my loaded potato - l had butter, bacon and grilled onions. It was fluffy and delish. They have a nice menu. You can ride your ATV or snow mobile right up to the building or your John Deere tractor (like a customer had when we were visiting ). Tons of Forest service roads/trails all around the area. The bathrooms are clean and accessible. Great food, great owner, great staff - hard working people wanting their customers to have a great experience.

We entered the dining side (there's a bar side and dining room side) which is set up like a basic food hall (so, not a lot of ambiance). We were seated right away and drink ordered taken. We began the evening with whiskey old fashioned cocktails, which were made in the Wisconsin tradition and were good. They have different featured entrees every night they're open in addition to nightly specials. I opted for one of their nightly specials, which was coconut shrimp. The shrimp was ample with several large shrimp lightly coconut breaded and fried. They were delightful. For my side, I got the loaded baked potato (minus bacon) which was cheesy deliciousness. The service was prompt and friendly, though she did get a little bogged down when it came time to pay so we had to go find her (we were on a bit of a schedule with somewhere to be), If you're looking for ample portions at reasonable prices--this is your spot!

Patsy's serves up some delicious eats and their patio? All blooming, shaded loveliness. The first thing to note is that if you're dining on the patio, you'll want to run inside and grab some menus. You'll order at the bar. For my dinner I ordered their patty melt served on marbled rye, which was everything a patty melt ought to be (so good!). For my side, I opted for the onion rings which were battered (I prefer this over breaded) and perfectly crispy. Zero complaints on the pub grubtastic food. I also ordered an whiskey old fashioned, which was prepared in the Wisconsin style and was great. The service was also lovely. When I was ordering, the gentleman in front of me explained that he had been coming here for 30 years and it's the same guy behind the bar--amazing. Also, I totally accidentally left my purse on the patio (I only had one drink--just a complete oopsie moment). I didn't realize until the next morning.
