My first time here, my friend told me to try their Sicilian slice, he said that it was the best in rockland, I wasn't busy and was close by, so I thought I would stop in, from the second I stepped in, I noticed it was fast paced and the people behind the counter were very attentive, Connor behind the counter helped me right away as the line was moving, I had asked him if there were any Sicilian sliced left, he said he had one left, but that they had a fresh one coming out any second. So I waited and he rung me up, got a coke and two slices, he asked if I needed anything else and then took my credit card and told me to sign and he told me to enjoy me meal, very kind and pleasant. There are two kinds of atmospheres of this place, fast paced takeout or pizzeria dining like any other pizzeria, and then they have a dining room for their Italian dishes. THE SLICE: The slice was served nice and warm, just how I like my pizza ( I hate burning the top of my mouth with hot pizza). The slice wasn't sloppy or messy, it was consistent in its amount of cheese and sauce it had. The perfect amounts of sauce and cheese along with a nice crispy crust and not to thick of a slice. The cheese and sauce melted in my mouth as the flavor touched my taste buds, it was so good, I had to order a third slice. I haven't tried the other slices yet, but the pleasant and friendly environment and atmosphere will def make me come back to this establishment, even if I live 20 mins away. I highly recommend the Sicilian slice if you are in the mood of a pizza. Dining room is packed, so I'd assume the dishes are good here aswell. I will be coming back. Great place so far. read more

'We have ordered from here on the phone and more recently online for the last 15 years. Today I placed an order on their website. My husband showed up on time, and spent 35 minutes in the store where they told him they were 'working on it.' Then, after wiating 40 minutes (with 3 men going into the back 3 different times) they said they did not have the order, and we have been charged by chowhound, and we are responsible for calling them and getting our money back. Let me tell you, that this was the OWNER telling us this. He did not offer to make the food, and he did not offer to give us our money back. So Posa Posa is an institution in the area. I've been going there for nearly 20 years now - and I'm really not that old. We've been going here as a family for many years - and have seen their menu change a tad during the time. Their fresca is to die for, and their salad pizza is really unique. I heard from someone that was place was great so we decided to give it a try. First off it is so unorganized 2 women we're the hostess one was completely rude I wanted to know how long the wait was and she just kept walking away and saying hold on. It was my first time going there and the dining room is separated into 2 areas depends what you order which is just ridiculous! It was so confusing and being our first time there was no direction we came in and didn't know what we wanted and they make u decided depending on where you sit- pizza, heros, or meals it was so something I never seen. There was a big table next to us and the hostess brought out their food and she had no idea what was Even on the tray- how was she suppose to know what everyone ordered? Our waitress only served our table in the whole area and wasn't very attentive. Penne vodka was ok I give it a 5 out of 10 I definitely had better and more authentic. I almost felt it was from a jar. The calzone was big and cheesy ! Everyone in Rockland County seems to know of this place. They just celebrated their 25 year (or some other long time) anniversary recently. When you enter, it's a little confusing. They ask if you want pizza or dinner. I wanted dinner, so they sat us down at a table in a more formal dining room setting. I did want to try the pizza, but apparently you're not allowed to order pizza in the dining room. So we ended up moving to the 'casual dining' area with booths. In the casual dining area, you're allowed to order from the dinner menu and from the pizza menu. In any case, ordered a Chicago-style deep dish pizza and a regular pizza. The regular pizza was pretty good - probably one of the best I've had in Rockland County. The Chicago-style didn't match up with Giordano's in Chicago, but I didn't expect it to. I think the prices are very reasonable. A specialty pie is about $20 - the deep dish was about $13, but I added two toppings. The personal pizza is about $6-8. Their dinner prices are typical for the area restaurants, with entrees at $14-18. I haven't had a chance to try their dinner menu, but hope to soon. Bottom line: if you're in the area and feel like having pizza, come try this place out. read more

Back in high school, I would try to go here for lunch everyday. The pizza was the best in Rockland. Fast forward 10 years. Nowadays, on my return trips to home I always stop by hoping that pizza has retained it's former taste and texture. Sadly, the regular pizza has gone down in quality and taste. However, I am not going to give this restaurant a bad review. If you are stopping by for a slice, the deep dish, roman, and american slices are worth the trip. I haven't been to the restaurant area in a few years, but from what I remember they served very good staple italian american food. This place definitely has a local following - it was clear that many "regulars" were there, with lots of smiles between customers and staff and lots of "how you doin'?"s. A very friendly atmosphere, even to those of us from out of town. :) The food was OK, and the ambiance OK, but nothing more. The broccoli on the veggie pizza was frozen broccoli, a little on the wet side, with more pieces of stem than florets. Ok so last time we were in town we came here like three times. This time things were a little different...first we came for pizza and it was excellent. The perfect crispy with chewy. Tonight we came to the dining room side for pasta. We saw our server when he took our order, then never again. Maybe because I asked for whole wheat pasta and didn't get it? Or did no one know? This place is pretty much a staple of the area, and I have to agree with Jennifer below that the slices here are about as delish as they get. The crust is thin but not too crispy, the cheese is cheesy but doesn't all come off once you take a bite, and the tomato sauce is excellent. This is my favorite pizza place. I usually get an american slice (recommend, recommend, recommend!) to go so I can not comment on the establishment as a sit down restaurant. I could see how it would lose stars based on the atmosphere (3-4 stars); however, if you focus on the pizza it is impressive (5 stars!!) while other entrees are mediocre (3-4 stars). I definitely recommend this location, especially if you want to grab a quick slice. Counter service is fast and the staff are very sociable! Got to give it 5 based on my personal experiences. I eat a lot of pizza. I spent most of my life in the mid- to lower Hudson Valley, where good pizza basically grows on trees. And then, I moved to NC for 12 years. It was a veritable pizza desert. Or, any good Italian food. So when I moved back home to NYS I went to Posa Posa based on a friend's recommendation. Because, I had a lot of pizza and Italian food to catch up on. I have to tell you- it was good. I ate pizza and entrees on numerous separate occasions. No complaints. Good value. Good service. I came here for lunch with a group of four people. We split the Posa Platter for an appetizer which was good but wasnt anything too special. I ordered the eggplant rollatini with a side salad. Their homemade dressings for the salad were all phenomenal. My eggplant was delicious and tender with the right amount of cheese and sauce. The ricotta they used was really creamy and fresh. I want to gush over this place like every other reviewer, but I just can't. Most likely, you'll ignore my one "eh" review and go with the dozens who have loved this place for 27 years. No harm, no foul. Here's why I gave it 3 stars: The pizza is nothing special *ducks* - it's not the crispy thin-crust that other Rockland establishments like Mountain House, Cassie's and Nanuet Hotel tout. This is it's doughy-cousin - the crust you can find in every pretty-good pizza place in the tri-state area. Not too thick, generally good ingredients, you know you're in the tri-state area, but you're not blown away (or, at least, I wasn't). The service was also mediocre. Our waitress was MIA for much of our meal and it took us a solid 15 minutes to get a check at 6PM on a Saturday (not quite busy time yet...). Overall, this place is cheap and GREAT for groups and given the gushing in all the other reviews, I'm willing to bet most of the food is pretty decent. Plus points for gluten-free options as well as the option for a whole wheat crust. However, I think we'll be sticking with our cracker-thin crust places for now. read more

I'll call it the La Cristina because Lianna recommended for me to try a marinara pizette...pizette is aka a personal pizza... If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience, look no further than Posa Posa. My family comes to this restaurant every chance we get and each visit has been an absolute treat. The food is exceptional and the presentation beautiful. I haven't tried a dish that I didn't like. The wait staff is friendly and professional. I am a large man with a disability. All there table are connected to the tables so any large person will not be able to sit down. They had chairs that move away from the tables in a section in the back. So I sat where I could sit down and eat the food I just bought. I was asked to move. I explained the situation and was still ask to move. Then another employee told me I had to leave. I told him the situation and was told this section was table service section only. I was told I could sit only if I tipped the waitress. I agreed. I isn't the waitress's fault. This restaurant wants our money and support, but doesn't care about large people or disabled patrons. They should be ashamed of this. I was embarrassed twice and had to explain twice that I just wanted to eat the food which I just bought.
