Poseidon came through for breakfast. The staff had that warm, easy vibe that makes you feel taken care of, and my Gulf Coast Omelette was genuinely delicious -- bright flavors, perfect texture, no notes. When you're in HHI, it's absolutely one of the stronger breakfast picks.

We had an awesome early dinner out on the covered patio during the rain. We enjoyed Narraganset beer with our $1 oysters! We also added some chips and Pimento cheese dip which was super yummy too. For dinner we had a wedge salad, she crab soup, and Maine salad. All were delicious. David the manager stopped by the table and he was super friendly along with the waitress. Would go back when we return

We brought the whole family out to enjoy Poseidon while on vacation on HHI, and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambiance was absolutely fun. Food was delicious...shecrab bisque? Phenomenal. I also really enjoyed the drink menu options. We even tried a thc-based drink. Overall, a place I'd definitely come back to. Can't wait to return to try the rooftop bar as well!

We stopped here while sightseeing on a hot summer day for a break to have a snack and something to drink. We had wine and beer and shared a blue crab dip appetizer. The drinks were refreshing and hit the spot. We enjoyed the dip. The service was good. We sat at the outdoor bar and had a view of Broad Creek in the distance.

The Sunday brunch! Went to Sunday brunch on our way out of Hilton head and was not disappointed! I got the maple waffles and bacon and it was the greatest waffle i ever had in my life..first off it came off fresh out the griddle with warm syrup and butter on it AND bacon bit bit pieces in the waffle. Man i wanted to go and shake the chefs hand it was that good. And the service was great as well. Our server routinely checked on us and made us feel welcome. Will 10000000% be returning when we travel back

Perfect to kill some time while our condo was getting ready. Sat outside, great view of the water. Mojitos, strawberry margarita (did not know it was jalapeño infused tequila). Calamari and pimento cheese were super yummy. Excellent service. Really cool bar area with lots of seating

I went to Poseidon based on recommendations from a gluten free app I use for restaurants. I would consider this a more casual dining restaurant due to the volume of the restaurant and how busy it seemed. I was seated right away without a reservation. I ordered the fried green tomatoes caprese and the blue crab dip with a glass of wine. The crab dip was creamy and very good. I prefer a little more crab and a little less cream but the taste was on pointe. The fried green tomatoes were a little hard and not as tasty as I expected. The beet, goat cheese salad with fried oysters was perfect. They all paired very nicely together and I was very excited to have gluten free fried oysters. I can't wait to return to try more of their menu. My waitress was also very accommodating and helpful with the menu and suggestions.

Poseidon's rooftop and experience were rated #1 in South Carolina one time and I truly see why! The experience, the food, the frozen strawberry daiquiris.... OUT OF THIS WORLD AWESOME!!!!!! You'll want to make sure you book a reservation early and check to see when they have shows, because it's truly a fun time! The views outside are beautiful too!

Our experience at Poseidon was OK at best. Our sever was really nice, and so was the owner (or manager?) who came by to check on us. The food was average, and definitely overpriced. Out of our party of 7, items from 3 of our meals were forgotten. The duck wings as an appetizer were definitely the best part of the meal. We had some get fried fish & some get broiled (can't exactly remember which fish specifically, in writing this a few days later) but the consensus was the fried seemed to be better. I guess in a touristy town and a restaurant like this we expected it be just okay, however $50 for this entree was disappointing.

Upon the recommendation of our Omni Hilton Head shuttle driver we went to Poseidon. Greatest immediately by the server. He asked if we want inside or outside. We chose the outside bar with plastic roll down windows / wind barriers with a heater over our table. The waitress greeted us promptly and brought waters. We ordered drinks and sushi roll appetizer. Both couples chose to share surf and turf and mixed grill options. Both were delicious both with a filet cooked perfect medium. We visited the Rooftop Bar and Dueling Piano show for the next evening. We are looking forward to g forward to coming back tomorrow night at 7 pm for the show.

My waitress was so amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu! However, my food was soooo bland, I was so shocked because it was such a great vibe in the restaurant! The oysters were perfectly steamed but I was so disappointed in the deviled crab stuffed cod. The 3 stars were purely because the service was great. The cocktails also needed some tlc.

    Dress code for brunch?

Casual is fine I think. We were in shorts and polo shirt.

Will be visiting in Sept (from Knoxville, TN) Are they still doing Happy Hour?

Yes, but you can only get the happy hour specials if you sit in the bar section of the restaurant. We went for the happy hour specials but didn't know this, so they sat us in the main dining area. Then, when we asked for the happy hour menu they…

Can kids older than 12 order off the kids menu? I have teenagers who still eat like kids.

We had two 14 year olds in our party and they were allowed to order from the kid's menu. No questions asked.

$7 cover per person to 'pay for the cover band' at 8pm? The band isn't playing yet. There's more employees up here than guests. Lovely sunset and creek views. Nice outside seating that's covered. But the cover? Before Memorial Day? Poor form.

I was able to make a reservation through Yelp, and although our reservation was pretty late at 8 PM, we walked in and luckily grabbed seats at the bar instead. That ended up being the best part of the night. Both bartenders were absolutely amazing. One was incredibly knowledgeable about wine, while the other knew everything about spirits, so we ended up getting a mini education on all kinds of drinks and even did a little tasting. It made the whole experience so much fun and interactive. We eventually settled on a bottle of red wine and shared a filet mignon. I highly recommend ordering the potatoes because whoever prepares them is seriously talented. They were thinly sliced and stacked into this beautiful cake-like structure that completely melted in your mouth. Between chatting with the bartenders and the people sitting next to us, we ended up staying much longer than planned simply because we were enjoying ourselves so much. I honestly don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. It's more than just dinner -- it's an experience, and I highly recommend checking it out.

We arrived at our scheduled (early) reservation to a mostly empty restaurant. To summarize our service - it was a whirlwind of hot and cold. We were a large party during a holiday week rush so I'd like to chalk it up to that but it was all just so bizarre. For those that like a cocktail menu, there isn't one. For those that like bread, you will be shunned if you ask to toss the leftover bread basket into your to go box since the trash is a more respectable place for it then eating later. You will need to dodge and duck floating glasses and bottles. Expect a percentage of your wine to dribble out onto the table with each pour, not like you're paying premium for every drop! Next course will be brought out while you still have the previous course dishes in front of you and you'll have to take on the act of juggling dishes. If you ask for a drink refill or anything at all, resign yourself to a huff of judgement. The restaurant itself is small and cramped and fills up quickly. Guests will be bumping into other guests and agitated servers cartwheeling around tables and chairs. The entire meal will feel very chaotic, if not hostile until it's time for the checks at which there will be a silent lull as your bill is stuck is queue in the POS system. Other than that, the food is classic old school steakhouse. Would not recommend, there are other restaurants on the island that win in food and service.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
