    Blue Crab Dip

We stopped here while sightseeing on a hot summer day for a break to have a snack and something to drink. We had wine and beer and shared a blue crab dip appetizer. The drinks were refreshing and hit the spot. We enjoyed the dip. The service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the outdoor bar and had a view of Broad Creek in the distance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We brought the whole family out to enjoy Poseidon while on vacation on HHI, and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was absolutely fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was delicious...shecrab bisque? Phenomenal. I also really enjoyed the drink menu options. We even tried a thc-based drink. Overall, a place I'd definitely come back to. Can't wait to return to try the rooftop bar as well!

Perfect to kill some time while our condo was getting ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside, great view of the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mojitos, strawberry margarita (did not know it was jalapeño infused tequila). Calamari and pimento cheese were super yummy. Excellent service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really cool bar area with lots of seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Fried Green Tomato Caprese

I went to Poseidon based on recommendations from a gluten free app I use for restaurants. I would consider this a more casual dining restaurant due to the volume of the restaurant and how busy it seemed. I was seated right away without a reservation. I ordered the fried green tomatoes caprese and the blue crab dip with a glass of wine. The crab dip was creamy and very good. I prefer a little more crab and a little less cream but the taste was on pointe. The fried green tomatoes were a little hard and not as tasty as I expected. The beet, goat cheese salad with fried oysters was perfect. They all paired very nicely together and I was very excited to have gluten free fried oysters. I can't wait to return to try more of their menu. My waitress was also very accommodating and helpful with the menu and suggestions.

Poseidon's rooftop and experience were rated #1 in South Carolina one time and I truly see why! The experience, the food, the frozen strawberry daiquiris.... OUT OF THIS WORLD AWESOME!!!!!! You'll want to make sure you book a reservation early and check to see when they have shows, because it's truly a fun time! The views outside are beautiful too!

Upon the recommendation of our Omni Hilton Head shuttle driver we went to Poseidon. Greatest immediately by the server. He asked if we want inside or outside. We chose the outside bar with plastic roll down windows / wind barriers with a heater over our table. The waitress greeted us promptly and brought waters. We ordered drinks and sushi roll appetizer. Both couples chose to share surf and turf and mixed grill options. Both were delicious both with a filet cooked perfect medium. We visited the Rooftop Bar and Dueling Piano show for the next evening. We are looking forward to g forward to coming back tomorrow night at 7 pm for the show.

Our experience at Poseidon was OK at best. Our sever was really nice, and so was the owner (or manager?) who came by to check on us. The food was average, and definitely overpriced. Out of our party of 7, items from 3 of our meals were forgotten. The duck wings as an appetizer were definitely the best part of the meal. We had some get fried fish & some get broiled (can't exactly remember which fish specifically, in writing this a few days later) but the consensus was the fried seemed to be better. I guess in a touristy town and a restaurant like this we expected it be just okay, however $50 for this entree was disappointing.

My waitress was so amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu! However, my food was soooo bland, I was so shocked because it was such a great vibe in the restaurant! The oysters were perfectly steamed but I was so disappointed in the deviled crab stuffed cod. The 3 stars were purely because the service was great. The cocktails also needed some tlc.

My party enjoyed all of the dishes served. We started with appetizers that were all amazing. Not pictured but worth noting was the flash fried sushi! Also worthy of mention were the muscles. For the main course, the fishes were well cooked and all flavorful. We also had the best service. He was so kind and carried a good energy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also very nice rooftop seating![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Dress code for brunch?

Casual is fine I think. We were in shorts and polo shirt.

The weekend of February 10-12 is there live music at night?

    Here is the schedule. https://www.therooftophhi.com/events/…

    How do we make rsvp?

You can call to make a reservation but I used open table app.

    Is downstairs outdoor bar heated?

Yes, they have portable propane heaters staggered placed...

Will be visiting in Sept (from Knoxville, TN) Are they still doing Happy Hour?

Yes, but you can only get the happy hour specials if you sit in the bar section of the restaurant. We went for the happy hour specials but didn't know this, so they sat us in the main dining area. Then, when we asked for the happy hour menu they…

Can kids older than 12 order off the kids menu? I have teenagers who still eat like kids.

We had two 14 year olds in our party and they were allowed to order from the kid's menu. No questions asked.

$7 cover per person to 'pay for the cover band' at 8pm? The band isn't playing yet. There's more employees up here than guests. Lovely sunset and creek views. Nice outside seating that's covered. But the cover? Before Memorial Day? Poor form.

    Ok

Starting with the burger, I like when a smash burger is ACTUALLY a smash burger. They include cheese and pickles on it and it was just the perfect burger. I think it's pretty high on my burger rankings. Might even beat Heavy's! I feel like it's rare to get waffle fries unless you're going to Chick Fil A, so it was nice to have them with our burger. We got a bag to share and there was plenty. They were salted and seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy. We sat outside where they have a full bar, a TV for sports, and they had live music.

This is genuinely one of the best burgers around. The waffle fries deserve a special mention: fresh, nicely done, and you get a generous portion. Think Chick-fil-A fries, but the way they should be. The Truffle Fries are solid too -- just a bit rich for my taste, but that's purely personal preference. I also tried the Sweet & Spicy Chicken -- good and flavorful, though slightly heavy on the batter for me. Still worth a try. A Couple of Suggestions: A lower-carb side option would be a welcome addition -- I asked and it was a hard no. Hopefully Tin and Tallow considers adding some healthier alternatives down the road. Breakfast -- Proceed with Caution: The croissant with egg and cheese was, unfortunately, a miss for me. The egg and cheese were fine, but buttering an already butter-heavy croissant and griddling it turned it into a flat, gooey mess. I hear there's a biscuit option, which might be better -- but personally, I'd love to see an English muffin or bagel on the menu. Something with a little more structure would go a long way. Bottom Line: Come for the burgers and fries -- you won't be disappointed. Just maybe skip the croissant breakfast for now.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
