We really enjoyed our meal at WiseGuys. The bread was wonderful to start. We then got the Parmesan fries & Brussels sprouts and both were great. For our entree's, the waiter recommended the smash burgers which were unbelievable. The Mac & cheese with smoked Gouda worked surprisingly well, and our waiter was very nice. Next time we are on the island we will have to try the steaks.

The meats were seasoned and cooked to perfection! There was no need for steak sauce or any other condiments, everything tasted great. The service was great from the time we walked in and was greeted and seated right away. Our waiter was on point about checking in on us and offering suggestions from the drink, food and dessert menus. It was a dim lit restaurant with a classy feel, I enjoyed the whole experience.

    Wood Fired Vegetable Lasagna

This was our second visit for dinner, and both times had a very good experience. When we arrived at around 7:30 on Friday we were seated immediately and our server was attentive and helpful. I had a cup of she crab soup to start and decided on the wood fired vegetable lasagna. The soup was good, but not the best she crab soup I've ever had. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars But I was thrilled with the veggie lasagna. It was so flavorful & delicious. The veggies were minced and included carrots, zucchini, onion, mushrooms, and I believe tomato. The sauce was a traditional bechamel and the lasagna also had a good amount of mozzarella. The lasagna noodles were very fresh. This was a 5 star dish for me. I would order it again. Hubs started with French Onion Soup and was thrilled with it. 5 stars. His ceaser salad was huge and the lettuce was fresh. The only downside was it over dressed as it was dripping with dressing. 3.5 stars. He also had the prime rib and it was cooked as he requested but he said it was a bit on the fatty side. 4 stars. We also had a bottle of wine and they had a nice selection of reds and whites. The restaurant was lively, but not too crowded and not too loud. We will definitely go back.

I returned to one of my fave places on the island Dec 12 with a local friend. We always visit this place and another next door. This visit I had the filet mignon salad $26. My friend had the short rib lasagne ($26). My meal was absolutely perfect, everything seasoned/flavored perfectly. My friend's dish looked a little heavy for me but she loved it, also. We chose a nice wine, I Googled it: Banfi Belnero is a premium Super Tuscan IGT wine from Castello Banfi in Montalcino, primarily crafted from Sangiovese blended with international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It features a deep ruby color with notes of black cherry, plum, spice, and vanilla, offering a full-bodied, structured palate with balanced tannins. Enjoyed 2 glasses of it ($32)! We split the chocolate Pot de Creme ($10) for dessert, so good. The restaurant was crowded, as we went a dinner time. Were lucky to get a table, in the bar area, near the window. Our server was running by and I didn't mind at all calling out to him, as he didn't check on us as much as the table to next to us, who were regulars. Once they left, he honored us with his presence, actually lingered to explain the quality of the wine we chose. I enjoyed this visit, although I am spoiled on getting much better service in Dallas, but every time I visit the islands, I try to remember to focus on the food, company and atmosphere.

Maaaaaannnn, I wish I lived closer. I could easily see this place being "our spot." We chose Wiseguys on a whim while we were vacationing in Hilton Head. The ambiance is gorgeous and romantic. The service was professional, yet friendly. The Food was outstanding. We started with the Asian Calamari/shrimp appetizer. The presentation was super creative, and it was tender and sweet. The standout was the short rib / Gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms... WOW. If I could eat those everyday, I probably would. The entree was a 14 oz NY strip. I opted for the truffle butter on top, (because I'm a truffle-head) and whew, it was the right move. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it was tender and juicy. We got the mashed potatoes and a side of cream spinach too. Everything was impeccable. Halfway through the meal, we got visited by the owner Collin. What an awesome gent! Thanks for a memorable experience, and we WILL be back!

Our 11th anniversary was this weekend and decided to spend it in the HH area. Made late reservations to WG restaurant and it was fantastic. My wife loved the setup and ambiance. Especially the long lighted hallway, it had a vintage Mod century feel to it. Service was impeccable, Chris was very helpful. My wife had the seafood wontons and Bang Bang Shrimp and was delicious. I had the fresh and much needed Beet salad and the combination of arugula, pistachios and beets were amazing with the sweet balsamic sauce. Next was the prime 16oz Delmonico steak and it was the 1st time I tried that particular cut and it was juicy (medium) well charred and succulently tender. One of the best steaks I've had in my life. Highly recommend this establishment. Well done.

Comfortable upscale and elegant seating. Nice cozy ambiance. Great service. We loved our steaks, sides, desserts and Port.

I was able to make a reservation through Yelp, and although our reservation was pretty late at 8 PM, we walked in and luckily grabbed seats at the bar instead. That ended up being the best part of the night. Both bartenders were absolutely amazing. One was incredibly knowledgeable about wine, while the other knew everything about spirits, so we ended up getting a mini education on all kinds of drinks and even did a little tasting. It made the whole experience so much fun and interactive. We eventually settled on a bottle of red wine and shared a filet mignon. I highly recommend ordering the potatoes because whoever prepares them is seriously talented. They were thinly sliced and stacked into this beautiful cake-like structure that completely melted in your mouth. Between chatting with the bartenders and the people sitting next to us, we ended up staying much longer than planned simply because we were enjoying ourselves so much. I honestly don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. It's more than just dinner -- it's an experience, and I highly recommend checking it out.

I will say that this place is in need of a renovation, but it added to the vibe. I felt like I was in the Godfather, especially with the table we were seated at. There's something for everyone here. We arrived at our scheduled (early) reservation to a mostly empty restaurant. To summarize our service - it was a whirlwind of hot and cold. We were a large party during a holiday week rush so I'd like to chalk it up to that but it was all just so bizarre. For those that like a cocktail menu, there isn't one. For those that like bread, you will be shunned if you ask to toss the leftover bread basket into your to go box since the trash is a more respectable place for it then eating later. You will need to dodge and duck floating glasses and bottles. Expect a percentage of your wine to dribble out onto the table with each pour, not like you're paying premium for every drop! Next course will be brought out while you still have the previous course dishes in front of you and you'll have to take on the act of juggling dishes. If you ask for a drink refill or anything at all, resign yourself to a huff of judgement. The restaurant itself is small and cramped and fills up quickly. Guests will be bumping into other guests and agitated servers cartwheeling around tables and chairs. The entire meal will feel very chaotic, if not hostile until it's time for the checks at which there will be a silent lull as your bill is stuck is queue in the POS system. Other than that, the food is classic old school steakhouse. Would not recommend, there are other restaurants on the island that win in food and service.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
