I went in for a basic manicure and pedicure. Not gel. I arrived and was immediately given a tech to start on my pedicure. Followed my manicure but after almost being done, the techs appointment arrived and she rushed over to them to get them seated for pedis then finally came back and put the finishing touch of cuticle cream. I don't appreciate being left sitting waiting for my service to be finished while the tech is attending to other. When the tech did my mani, she did not wear gloves and her hands were very course. The overall atmosphere of the salon was very small and outdated, not the newest and cleanest. The pedi and mani after completed was good. read more

I came here today, desperately needing a mani-pedi, due to the COVID-19 crisis closures. This place had all the appropriate health safety measures in place: acrylic divider shield/screens between the nail techs and the customers; all the nail techs were wearing gloves. They even check your temperature before they begin the service! Kim gave me a lovely manicure and pedicure. She took her time with me and made sure the polish application was even and well-dried. Worst disappointing experience doing my nails. I will never go back and hated that I spent money on something I want to take off. I honestly hate the experience. While Kim was nice and really tried to fix my nails it was not was I envisioned. My nail feels heavy and uneven. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I wish she took the time instead of constantly talking asked me if I liked what she's doing. 3 hours later I still hated it. 0 star. read more

I called to make an appointment based on reviews literally 45 mins before arriving. They were accommodating and it was a Thursday. I walked in and there was only one customer. Mai started the job and Kim ended it. Both ladies were great, especially Kim. She left my nails so beautiful and she was so nice and welcoming and made me feel good. It's been a long time since I've been so satisfied with how my nails came out. I believe this will be my new permanent spot! read more

I stopped by Posh Nails on my way home from work, about 20 minutes before it closed. Kim insisted I come in and get my mani/pedi done. I was worried they would rush through and the quality would be lacking...I was so wrong! Kim picked out a gorgeous color for my toes and fingers, and she and Kathy stayed well past closing to ensure my nails looked beautiful. Kim even convinced me to get designs on my fingers, and I am so happy I listened to her. She did an amazing job, and I'm glad I trusted Yelp and came here at the last minute. Walked-in for gel polish (the non-manicure option for $20). Didn't have an appointment but Mai was able to see me right away. She was great! Super friendly, awesome to talk to, & did a great job on my nails. Highly recommend her!Not a very fancy salon but the prices are hard to beat & they get the job done well. Walked in for a spontaneous gel pedicure. I saw good reviews and was confident to ask for a pedicure. But the work was shoddy... I was disappointed to see that my specialist did not care for my cuticles as much as other specialists who worked on my pedicures. The biggest thing that I did not feel comfortable about was that the supplies she was using was used. She "rinsed" it in my bath, but I didn't realize she was using used supplies until after using it on my feet and placed back in her bowl of supplies. Also, the whole process of getting the gel was very cumbersome as she had to put in a board to cover the pedicure bath bowl, and get a big UV lamp that didn't have a timer. So I didn't know how she was timing how long my feet were supposed to be in there. Overall, very mediocre job... I don't think I'll be returning again. read more

My experience here was average. I came here to treat my sister and I to manis and there were a lot of side conversation plus the attempt of upselling on other services (they asked my sister twice about waxing her eyebrows). We were walk-ins and there was immediate availability. My nail tech didn't speak very much English and one of her coworkers had to translate for her with it came to what I wanted, but she was detail oriented and gave a nice hand massage. Their gel color selection is limited and it's a "no frills" nail salon, but it gets the job done. My gel mani was nicely done... but it chipped within a week. Boo. Although their brochure was listed as $20 for a gel mani, they had charged me $30 each gel mani. I didn't catch it until I picked up a brochure on the way out. I'm not sure if I was charged incorrectly, or if there was a recent change in their pricing... read more

Had a really great experience with Kim. I came in to get an acrylic fill and when she took the polish off from my last manicure (not done at Posh) she noticed some yellowing on my nail and so she very meticulously took off the old acrylic and basically started from scratch, and only charged me $3 extra for the extra work she did. I appreciated the fact that she saw something she knew wasn't done well, and instead of just not saying anything and doing my fill (which she very easily could have done) she took her time to fix the mistake my last technician made. Kim is very friendly, talkative, and detail-oriented. She definitely takes her time which I appreciate but could be a problem if you're in a hurry. The salon itself is not the fanciest or most modern, but the prices are affordable--and from what I experienced--worth it! read more

Kim is the best for nails! I got the powder tip and asked for a more almond shape with length and Kim gave me exactly what I wanted. She is very detail oriented and a perfectionist. If you want something done a specific way she will accommodate. Seriously the best - I never go anywhere else but Posh nails. Kim is very good at gel, acrylic, and designs as well. My friend, Alex, and I went in tonight and everything was perfect! They had openings so they took us right away, and I had two people help me. The first for my pedicure was amazing, she was very nice and was so good at what she did. I don't remember her name but she was Hispanic and was very nice. The second lady who helped me, her name was Kim, and she was amazing as well. She gave me a full set and they look amazing! I'm so happy with her work and she talked to me the whole time. She was very personable and helped me have a good time. She is quick but her work is outstanding. She's been doing this for over 30 years and it definitely shows. I first stumbled upon this place when I was having a nail emergency a few weeks ago-- one of my real nails broke so I needed an acrylic placed in ASAP as I had literally just gotten a gel manicure a few days prior. Luckily, they were in the proximity and were willing to accommodate and they carried the OPI gel color to match the rest of my nails. They charged me $3 to put one acrylic with gel polish on and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Given my aforementioned positive experience, I decided to come back for a new gel manicure. I called ahead on a Monday and luckily they had a spot open when I got off work. Kim (the owner) greeted me with so much enthusiasm as I walked in! I told her I had one acrylic nail, one powder fill, and the rest were real nails. She immediately began to cater to my nails and kept giving me the most positive/sweetest comments. They all spoke to me, but weren't too chatty. It was mostly to admire my hands and/or to ask for feedback if they shaped my nails to my liking. Also, when I was deciding on which OPI red color to choose, one of the workers displayed each of the three polishes on her own nails so I could compare. So sweet! She was meticulous and polished my nails to perfection. Believe it or not, their gel manicure costs only $20!!! Are you serious people?! It comes with a hand massage and they apply oils at the end, no getting jipped here. My total was about $30, though, due to my two acrylic fills. They also do nail designs, waxing, facials, eyebrow tattoos, etc. Additionally, they were pleasant to everyone who came in, despite the increasingly busy day. The shop itself is not luxurious by any means and the color selection is somewhat limited, but the quality of their work along with their EXCELLENT customer service will definitely have their customers, including myself, coming back! read more

This is honestly one of the best nail salons I have been too. The staff was very welcoming and treats their clients like family. They may take slightly longer than an average pedi or full set because they take the time to do everything right the first time. I just had a basic pedi but had a hang nail on one of my toes that the nail technician was able to get out quick and painless. Kim who was the technician to do my full set was amazing and took the time to make sure each nail was perfectly shaped. I had came in with short bitten nails, but left with a manageable length to hopefully grow my nails under them. read more

This place is next to Hot Spot and Bon Chon in Fairfax. All the staff are super friendly and loves to get to know their customers on a first name basis... which explains all the times I've been here, it's all regulars from what I've noticed. Calling them by name, asking how their children have been, how their vacation was, etc etc. It's just a very cozy and friendly place. The owner, Kim, takes the time and effort to put forth great work for both manicures and pedicures. I absolutely love her bubbly personality and her feminine designs. Mai is also great too. Appointments aren't necessary but I always make one just in case. I've been to many nail salons... but I never went back. Maybe twice but that's it. But this place.. it's not just the work they put out but the service that they give that makes me come back every time. And if you have read my other reviews, you'll know that I'm extremely picky when it comes to service. LOL. I just came back from there today and their newly renovated place is to die for!!! I went to get my nails done the night before my wedding. I intended to go to a different place earlier in the day, but hair ran over ... had to have my nails and all 3 bridesmaids done. We got there about 40 minutes before close (we made our appointment the same day), but the techs were very gracious in taking us as it was obvious that the services would take much more than 40 minutes even if there had been a full staff. They closed about 2 hours late that night making sure that we were happy with our service. They provided drinks and snacks to ensure that we were comfortable the entire time. The staff was very personable and took out time and needs into consideration. I was very satisfied with the bridesmaids nails and my pedicure. My nails were a little (or a lot) more complicated than I usually go, so they were an adjustment, but Ms.Kim was super helpful in making sure that they would be perfect for the day. The shaping left a bit to be desired for me, but I was very pleased considering the timeline I gave her. So this place was an awesome surprise! They are a good competitor to MC Nails where I usually go. However MC nails doesn't really focus on styles,..and when I saw all the pictures on this page, I decided to come here to see if they could do something fancy for my toes. While their pedicure wasn't as technically good as MC Nails, the design the lady copied for me, straight from an Internet photo I showed her was awesome! I wish I would have taken a photo for you all to see (my toes since then don't look awesome anymore LOL) Also, the pedi didn't last a whole month, like my pedis normally do from MC nails, but in all fairness I have been working out daily recently, and I wasn't before during my MC nails trips. So heres what I'm going to do,...I'm going to go to MC Nails this weekend and get em done, and see if they still last the full month,...and if they do, I'll re-review to let everyone know which pedi has true lasting power! He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

I have been a patron of Posh Nails for about 10 years and continue to return for manicures, pedicures, waxing, and facials. As a doctor, I am especially particular about the cleanliness of a nail salon and can say with certainty that Posh Nails is extremely clean and sanitary. Kim and her employees follow all standard procedures for sanitizing and disinfecting their manicure implements and equipment. The sterilization cabinet is in full view; resting in between the row of new, fantastic pedicure massage chairs and the manicure stations. It is used to sanitize and sterilize all manicure instruments. The staff also wipe all instruments with alcohol before each use. The pedicure basins are disinfected after every use. All towels are clean and paper towels are used. The polish is high quality and never thinned. Kim and her staff are licensed and well trained. They do a great job, and really care about their customers. I usually get a gel manicure and Kim does an excellent job. Kim is fluent in several languages and communicates well with everyone. She trains her staff and has devised a system so walk-in customers can be accommodated as easily as those who have made an appointment. This sometimes means that assistants will help out. I have no problem with this. I also have no problem communicating with an assistant who is learning English as a second language. All who work there are kind and wonderful people. Kim has gone out of her way for me on several occasions, opening up early and staying late. She is generous, talented, honest, and hard working. I can highly recommend Posh Nails to anyone who is looking for a quality experience at an affordable price. I am not sure why someone would write a review that is devastating to a business and filled with so many inaccuracies. I noticed this person wrote many other unkind reviews for other businesses. My hope is that people who read my review will have a clearer, more accurate picture of Posh Nails. read more

Posh Nails is not the nicest looking salon in Fairfax. Sure, the complex is a bit old, and the equipment is not brand spanking new, but everything works and the prices are the best around. I got a French pedicure from Ana (she's kind of quiet while she works, so grab a magazine or bring a book) she did a GREAT JOB. Four weeks later it's starting to grow out, but it has not chipped at all! I will be going back for a French mani-pedi this weekend. They do accept cards, but it's better to tip with cash (their receipts don't have the line where you can add a tip). They also do tanning there, but I don't like tanning beds, so I've never used them. The ambience is not super nice (no flat screen TV, for example) but if you're looking to get your nails done on a budget, and done well, this place is great. What's the point of going to a newer salon if your pedicure won't last two weeks? read more

I LOVE KIM!! As the owner, she is patient and exceeds your expectations! Being from DC and attending school here I could never find a good salon that would resemble the salons from home. But Posh Nails takes care of me everytime. Kim takes her time and is hilarious. She is so fashionable and helps find the perfect cole for every occasion.
