Positive Connections was awesome. Dave showed up on time. We discussed the project again for clarity. He installed four huge overhead storage racks (three 4x8' and one 4x6') in about 3 hours (including lunch). All of them were flawless, level and at the requested height. He even did some touch ups on some areas where the paint was chipped during shipping. He cut some of the unnecessarily long pieces down to the appropriate size for visual appeal too. All in all, there's not anything I could say negative. At my old house, I installed 3 similar racks over 3 separate weekends, each with a small crew of people to help. Dave knocked it out in a small fraction of the time it would have taken us with the bonus of professional appeal. This review is overdue since Dave finished work for us over 3 months ago! Dave is pretty amazing. He did an awesome job assembling all of our outdoor furniture which included a park bench, a chat set and a bistro set. He also assembled my vanity set. As he was putting together our bistro set, he noticed that our chairs were malfunctioned and the holes for the screws weren't aligned properly. Dave went above and beyond by helping us exchange the set at the store (he has a very decent size work van and our cars were not big enough for storage). His prices were very reasonable and he was super efficient. We are extremely happy with Dave's work and will not hesitate to call him again for any future assembling needs. I can honestly say that Dave is an honest, responsible and customer service oriented small business owner, that cares about his work, the quality, and overall customer service. When I realized that I was over my head getting the safe racks installed in my new garage, I called Dave and left a voicemail on Wednesday afternoon. I received a call back about 30 minutes later, and made an appointment for Dave to come to my house on Friday morning. Dave called when he was on his way and provided an estimated ETA, arrived on time, and he got the racks installed in 1 hour. Over the weekend I had a question for Dave, he answered the call the first time, and agreed for him to come back for a small adjustment. He said that he would call me next time he was in the area next week. To my surprise, I received a call the following Monday, that he would be in the area and wanted to stop by if I was available. Coincidentally I was working from home, so he came by and in 10 minutes he completed the tweak. I wish all businesses and business owners would operate and manage their business like Dave does. Dave just finished assembling a dresser for me yesterday. I tend to be a "no sugarcoat" reviewer so I can assure you he deserves the 5 stars, otherwise I would not rate him that high. He was very courteous, showed up a little before he was supposed to, worked quietly and efficiently, cleaned up well and the actually item was assembled VERY well! No complaints whatsoever. I decided to contact Dave based on his two 5-star reviews on Yelp. I should have shifted my focus on the one 1-star review instead. We're in the process of moving into our new house and I wanted two 8x4 SafeRacks professionally installed before our big move. I contacted Dave about three weeks before we close escrow. He had good communication via text message and he even set aside time on Saturday, 9/3 to come out to see the model homes and my home since the garage ceiling had a weird layout due to fire sprinklers. He did his measurements and confirmed that he will be able to install the 8x4 racks or if one did not fit, he'll swap one for a 8x3 or 6x4 rack. He asked if Saturday, 9/10 would work. I said yes. He gave me two time options, 8AM or 9AM. I told him 9AM. Fast forward to Saturday, 9/10 at 9:15AM. I text Dave if we were still on for that morning. No response. I decided to call Dave at 10AM and left him a voicemail. No response. So Dave pretty much messed up the logistics of my move. I had planned on applying epoxy on my garage floor after Dave installed the rack, but since he never showed up, I had to scramble and find someone else to professionally install the racks. I ended up applying the epoxy two days ago and is still waiting for it to completely dry. I had to reschedule my move out house cleaners and carpet cleaners for the current rental house. I agree with the 1-star reviewer. A text or call would have been greatly appreciated. read more
