Charesse is the greatest! I'm so glad my cousin referred me to her years ago. She gives the BEST scalp massages and really listens to what the client wants for their hair. I've seen her for so long and she chopped off my long hair and has made me love my lobs and bobs she cuts for me. She uses my favorite brands and everything smells so good! Every time she styles my hair, it lasts for days! Bahtoh is also a beautiful salon/floral shop and my mood is uplifted every time I walk in! The environment definitely puts me in a happier mood. I love Charesse!!

Hard to see, but this was my 1st balayage

If you know me, you know that I HATE getting my hair cut. I have trust issues, and have never ever had anyone who could cut and color hair perfectly. I have had crooked hair growing up...and eventually, as I got older, I just cut my own hair (even though it was crooked too haha). Charesse is like the dream hair stylist that finishes your sentences. She reads your mind. She knows what looks good on you and how it's done and how she will do it. She is so good, she makes me feel like she's a celebrity stylist because of how nice the outcome always is. Let me say, my hair was looking a little faded before my last appt and it had been a few months since I had my hair done...and I was still getting compliments! I'm talking my hair had split ends and my blonde was getting brassy...but guess what? People was loving my hair STILL! they said they loved my balayage...that is how you know you have a dope stylist! I'm not sure how to describe my hair experience...it is SOO relaxing. I always want to fall asleep because the salon/Charesse are soo calming and relaxing. I would trust her to cut my hair blind if need be. Okay, when she washes your hair, it is like the BEST hair washing I've ever had. Head massage and everything. And I do recommend the same shampoo/conditioner she uses as I faithfully use the same brand now for shampoos, oils, and dry shampoo, yayer! Recently, I got my balayage done this month....and I seriously still get compliments. People compliment me on my hair cut and my hair color quite frequently. Not to brag or anything, but that makes me so happy because my hair has probably never been healthier and this nicely styled ever. People often tell me they love my balayage (the tone, how it looks and how it blends soo well). Literally my coworkers always know when I have my hair down and they can't stop talking about it. That makes me so happy and excited to tell them about Charesse!! If you're like me...or not... I hate taking care of my hair. I used to love to, but then it felt like more work. So I just stopped caring for it until last year. It wasn't until Charesse that I started to really try to use products again. You know you have a great and reliable hair stylist when she cares about your hair more than you! She always tells me when it's time for a trim, and she always gives me suggestions for products I need for my flat hair. & I find that she genuinely cares for her clients. I find her to be personable, kind, and truly wanting to get to know her clients and build a rapport. The very few cons to this salon? There's a lack of parking that's not 1 hr only. I am thankful there's always a few hidden in the residential spots. Otherwise, Charesse always offers tea or water, always checks in, and always makes sure you are satisfied and comfortable! Price range is on the higher end-- I can guesstimate it's about over $100 for a gloss and hair cut. This is just a general idea of the price range, but prices are listed on her website. I hope you get a chance to book with her. My hair is bomb now that Charesse has graced me with her talents!

Charesse is the best!!! Please look at before/after pictures. She transformed my dry hair into healthy, thick and shiny hair. She is always there for her clients, always honest about the results. She never pushes people to buy her products, like other salons do. Personally, I really appreciate it, I don't like to feel like my stylist wants to sell me something I might not need. I am never changing my stylist again!

    Love it.

I had virgin hair and was picky with who I wanted to dye my hair first. One of my best friends recommended coming to Charesse! I wasn't in a hurry to dye my hair so I made the appointment for May back in September. I'm really glad I went to Charesse! She is very knowledgable and for a noob like me, she was very patient with explaining the dyeing process and the care that I'd have to do afterwards. She answered all my questions and I can say I'm very happy and pleased I was able to go to her! She's extremely pleasant to talk to and you can tell she's passionate about her work. I highly recommend her if you're able to get an appointment! Thank you again Charesse, especially for making my hair look bomb before the Beyoncé concert!

    Charesse's 2nd session on me :) Gorg!

I admit I am the pickiest client when it comes to the hair. I analyze every cut, every color placement, the shampoo, and how my hair lasts after it's been done-the whole shebang. I was on the hunt for someone who could replicate the instagram raved stylist, Guy Tang in L.A. I almost even thought about flying down to L.A to just get my hair done, but then I found Charesse. Charesse is the REAL deal. I have prayed to the hair god(s) (..maybe there is more than one?...who knows) and they have answered my prayers. THE HITS: (1) Charesse's color technique is detailed, thorough, and consistent. My balayage/ombre is beyond words! Every section of my hair has unified, yet well sectioned, color pieces. (2) Charesse knows I'm trying to grow my hair out, so she carefully cuts my hair in long layers to keep my hair healthy without chopping off her color job. (3) Her SHAMPOOS! errrrrrr mai gawd they are heavenly. I feel like I'm getting a mini massage session. (4) My hair color lasts a good 2-3 months before I need to get touched up again. THE MISSES: ..........NONE! Truly none. Not one stinkin' complaint. I'll be devastated if Charesse ever leaves Washington! So please do not move :)

    3rd balayage + babylights

I had to update my review because of how accommodating Charesse is! I contacted Charesse a few weeks ago hoping she'd be able to freshen up my hair before I had to fly out of state, and to my surprise she pushed back her own mom's appointment to squeeze me in the day before my departure! I've never before received this kind of treatment from a stylist and can honestly say that Charesse goes above and beyond in all aspects of her work. I can't praise her enough; she's the best. I'm so happy with the level of service I received and with my new color!

I took this picture of myself from her Instagram! Before & after.

This is a review long overdue! I stumbled upon Charesse through her IG and managed to book an appointment with her as a first time client. I've gotten a haircut and one balayage session done by her last year. If you know me, throughout my life I've ALWAYS had virgin black dry frizzy hair. The year before I met Charesse, I decided to dye my hair for the first time on a whim.... womp womp womp... in the PHILIPPINES. Boy... was that a mistake. It was basically like letting my 12 year old nephew dye my hair with dollar store box dye in the dark! Until I met this remarkable woman! Charesse was adept at fixing the mistakes that was made previously on my hair and afterwards I came out of her salon lookin' like a goddess! EVERYONE would compliment me & I felt so confident in myself lol. Charesse is very humble, very professional, doesn't make anything awkward through the session and makes sure we are very comfortable in her seat ESP when you're sitting for 3+ hours! She gives out detailed advice if you ask & massages/shampoos oh so gentle on your scalp. Also, she shares the salon with many other stylists so other clients do come & go! I love how clean & well-lit her salon is as well! I also like the location of her salon! Very nice to walk out to when it's a beautiful sunny Seattle day!

This was from my last appt with Charesse in May 2015. I STILL get compliments on how good my hair looks!

She is very talented with what she does and very very attentive to make sure to get you what you want. We always have fun conversations as well. I'm Asian and our hair isn't the easiest to work with. I usually get my hair done when I visit Korea (but then COVID happened) or choose to find a Korean salon here, but I wasn't able to find one in Seattle nearby that lived up to my expectations. I also don't change my hair much - last time I got it chemically treated was almost 3 years ago, which I think makes chemical treatments tricky. Bleaching prior to coloring took a VERY LONG time but Tomoko was very patient with me and made sure we achieved the color I wanted. And despite bleaching for quite a while, I don't feel like my hair was damaged much (if at all). Oh, and oh my god, the head massage while washing my hair was A M A Z I N G. I think it was the best head massage I've ever gotten and I sort of wished I could stay there forever. The salon isn't big, but very well prepped for the pandemic (they check for your temperature prior to entering the salon, ask to wash your hands, everyone wears a mask and currently they don't use a blowdryer to dry your hair to minimize risks - they used a bonnet hood attachment for me) and I felt safe during both my appointments. As for pricing, it definitely isn't cheap but I think the salon lives up to the price and everything is transparent and as listed on their website.

I scheduled my appointment with Hannah because I saw her social media and it seemed similar to what I was hoping my hair to be. she was the newest stylist it listed her as but the Salon got such great reviews I didn't think it mattered. I get there and she's already running 30 minutes late I say no problem because I'm in the industry and I understand. She puts me in my chair and she doesn't brush it out she doesn't section it she starts cutting it with texturizing shears and starts thinning it out by slide cutting and also point cutting. She never once took a section she never once parted it with clips. She thin it out washed me, send it out again while Wet, had an assistant dry me, and then texturized it again to the point where I told her I didn't need any more texturizing I noticed in the mirror while they were blow drying how it looked very broken and weight thinner than I had originally come in. The system was having a hard time curling my hair due to health than it was so I attempted to treat myself seeing as I'm a hairstylist as well and even I couldn't put a curl through it because I had such a little hair. I waited a few days because I didn't want to upset the stylist cause I liked her as a person but once I got home and saw how uneven how thin and how damaged my hair is now I called to rebook an appointment. Not necessarily because I wanted a new cut but because I just wanted someone to section it and maybe think of a style I could create out of what was left. They rescheduled my appointment three times and gave me three different stylist before I received an email last night the day before my appointment informing me that after they reviewed the photos I had emailed them, refunded me my money and that they canceled my appointment. I never once got a text or a call to notify me about the cancellation so I proceeded to go to my appointment. When I got there they had completely just deleted everything about me and I was greeted defensively by the owner. He apparently already knew my name and that I was a hairstylist and started off by telling me that they don't have time for me and that that he doesn't think his lawn was right for me. I told him that I needed him to take accountability and help me try to fix what he allowed one of his stylist to do and he continued to push back telling me to leave that he wasn't gonna help me that there were no stylist that we're gonna help me at his salon. He then threatened to call the cops on me and the building manager I agree that they can come and look at my hair as well. He continued to yell at me and belittle me without even looking at my hair. He then tried to gaslight me telling me that my hair was already like that before the haircut and that he thinks it looks fine and that there was nothing wrong with it. After telling him that I already had an appointment he then said why didn't you just tell me that and got me in with an apprentice to just blow dry my hair. She was informed not to talk about my Hair to me not to section my hair, and also not to discuss my correction. He then came over when the service was complete and told me that I needed to leave and I asked him if he could just section a piece to look at it with me he said no and told me to leave once again. This is the worst place I've ever experienced Hair! I have been in the industry for 12 years and have also owned my own studio salon and I would never treat anybody let alone a client paying $110 the way that this salon treated me. I have video recording and pictures to prove everything along with him telling me that I need to leave multiple times. This is the worst Salon! the owner has no right to call himself an owner after treating a customer the way that he treated me. All I was asking for was for someone to section my hair to acknowledge the fact that it is broken and damaged and uneven. And he couldn't even do that let alone allow another stylist to do it. I will be taking the Salon! to court, I will be posting all of the videos on TikTok and all other social media platforms. I left looking like I have a mushroom on top of my head with tentacles hanging down. This place is a rip off. And does not deserve to be in business.
