Both of which my haircut and magic straight perm were cheaper than that. I will continue to see Susan at Instyle because she's easy to talk to and listens if I have criticism.

I think Joevir gave me a pretty good haircut; he even recommended I part my hair the other way because apparently my face/head is somewhat asymmetrical and looks better with the part going left to right. And even though Yuki sells a wide variety of your usual salon products (Sebastian etc.) Joevir dipped a little wooden spoon in a tub of Dippity-Do to style my hair into a gelled sort of updo. She is very talented with what she does and very very attentive to make sure to get you what you want. We always have fun conversations as well. I'm Asian and our hair isn't the easiest to work with. I usually get my hair done when I visit Korea (but then COVID happened) or choose to find a Korean salon here, but I wasn't able to find one in Seattle nearby that lived up to my expectations. I also don't change my hair much - last time I got it chemically treated was almost 3 years ago, which I think makes chemical treatments tricky. Bleaching prior to coloring took a VERY LONG time but Tomoko was very patient with me and made sure we achieved the color I wanted. And despite bleaching for quite a while, I don't feel like my hair was damaged much (if at all). Oh, and oh my god, the head massage while washing my hair was A M A Z I N G. I think it was the best head massage I've ever gotten and I sort of wished I could stay there forever. The salon isn't big, but very well prepped for the pandemic (they check for your temperature prior to entering the salon, ask to wash your hands, everyone wears a mask and currently they don't use a blowdryer to dry your hair to minimize risks - they used a bonnet hood attachment for me) and I felt safe during both my appointments. As for pricing, it definitely isn't cheap but I think the salon lives up to the price and everything is transparent and as listed on their website.

They put in a lot of safety measures because of the pandemic, including doing a temperature check, having you wash your hands before you can get service done, and they've also made sure that everything is sparkling clean. She understood my vague requests perfectly and gave me the fresh look I was after. Throughout the haircut, she was super nice and I had great conversation with her!
