I've been a Houstonian long enough to remember dropping off my IRS tax return here many years ago on April 15th. That was back when it was the Barbara Jordan US Post office and sorting center. It eventually was closed and sat vacant for many years. A few years ago some developers bought it with the idea to renovate it for a food and shopping destination with office spaces as well and a music hall venue. I went with some friends yesterday to take pictures up on the rooftop at sunset. The developers put in a large landscaped garden on the roof and at this time of year they have the garden decorated with all kinds of winter holiday decorations, they call it Winter Wunderland. We had to drive into town from Kingwood so we arrived just before 4 pm and there was plenty of parking spaces. Just to be clear, they do charge for parking but they don't give you a ticket upon entry, they scan your license plate so when you exit it rescans and determines how long you have been there and you just pay by credit card at the exit. After parking we went inside. The main area is what you could call a food hall. There are all kinds of little food spaces serving everything you can imagine from pizza to sushi, Filipino food, a ramen shop, burgers and even a place that just sells fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. There are even to large bar areas selling beer, wine and cocktails. You order your food and beverage, pay and they either text you for pickup or give you a beeper device. But most of the places are cash free and only take credit cards. My friends and I wondered around after eating and took some pictures, the food hall has tons of chrome, stainless steel and neon lighting so is very cool to photography. When they remodeled the building they cut away through the upper floors above the food hall and the whole roof area is a skylight so bright during the day. We finally went up to the roof at 5 pm and as another yelper said, the directions are non-existent. You have to use the elevator up front where an employee scans your ticket or sells you one. Everything is done by phone and QR codes now. The elevator only takes you to the second floor, we had to ask someone where the next elevator was. They really need to put up directions signs. We eventually got to the roof. We walked around taking pictures and waiting for the sun to set, you really get a great view of the north side of the downtown skyline and the sunset light was perfect. Only downside was a cold front had hit Houston earlier so it was quite chilly up on the roof. After an hour or so we had seen enough and made our way back to our car and the long drive back to Kingwood. read more

I didn't know what to expect or what it was really. Inside this building is many small businesses and places to eat. I read that they do many events here although there were none the time I was visiting. The top floor has this garden area that is cute for a picnic or similar. There were many empty areas in the building that made me think either it's super new or doesn't get enough traffic to keep business. Either way just something different and it was free minus the parking. read more

If you are visiting The Post Houston plz, don't miss this food place. The word Andees is exciting, and I think it shows how deeply its meaning is related to the Chef's struggle and hard work. Let me introduce you to Mr David, who is extremely humble and makes efforts to show respect to his clients. Of course, his cooking says it all. The Andes are the continuous mountain range that starts in Alaska, passes through California, and then descends into the sea to south Venezuela. To conclude our trip in Houston, we stop by Post Market for a quick bite to eat. Post Market is like a food court of amazing choices but times 10, lol. This place is huge with so many different options from many different cultures; it's hard to pick exactly what you want to eat lol. You are able to get a unique dish from Africa, and a huge Italian pizza slice, while sipping on Boba tea and eating ice cream all in the same place. Everybody was very helpful and kind. I cannot wait to come back to Post Market with an empty stomach to try even more wonderful option. read more

POST came at the recommendation of several friends who live in Houston as a great spot to get views of the city skyline. I also learned that there was a food court as well as a few businesses there so it seemed like a good place to spend some time. That being said, I had a gap in my itinerary before dinner plans so I decided to head over to POST to check it out. The building that is now POST used to be Houston's USPS headquarters. As such, it has a very industrial feel with large, open spaces. The building has since transformed to a multi-use space that houses a food court, a couple of shops, some offices, and a rooftop garden with unobstructed views of the Houston skyline. They may also hold events here, they definitely have the bones to do so. Upon entry, I was greeted by a e s t h e t i c s - lots of plants with a few occupied tenants along the perimeter. A quick turn brought me to the food court which has several offerings. I eventually took the stairs up to the rooftop (called the Skygarden) which had those aforementioned views and a lovely garden with benches to sit. I snapped a few pics and then made my way. Overall, POST was fine - there really isn't a lot to do here. Besides the Skygarden and the food court, there are a lot of empty storefronts and spaces. Hopefully more businesses are coming, and perhaps the vibe is different when there is an event happening here. That being said, it's good for a quick stop while you're on your way to see other things. read more

POST feels so new and shiny, hitting you first with their modern and beautiful architecture. My eyes gazed upward at the sweeping ceilings, the building a piece of artwork itself. With a beautiful rooftop, large food hall, coworking space, and so much artwork, the whole place feels like an adult playground. I loved the food hall, which has more options than my dating app (better quality too!) There's speed omakase and almost everything your heart desires (at least everything my heart desires, which is asian food + cocktails). I had dinner plans later so I stuck to cocktails but I did watch plate after plate of food walk by and it all looked so good. The rooftop is the most amazing part of this place. I think a photo of this rooftop represents the modern view of Houston that isn't just highways really well. POST has it all-- coworking spaces for the hustlers, art galleries for the culture vultures, and enough food options to satisfy even your pickiest friend. read more

This one lands squarely in "great idea, uneven execution." I've been to POST Houston plenty of times and usually walk away satisfied. I even visited the rooftop during Christmas last year and loved it--so when I saw the NYE rooftop party advertised, I was all in. Rooftop. Fireworks. DJ. Countdown. Say less. Let's start with the highlight, because it deserves its flowers The fireworks show was SPECTACULAR. Easily one of the best displays I've seen in years. Thoughtfully choreographed, perfectly timed, and that finale? Chef's kiss. Truly the star of the night. Now... the party itself? Eh. We paid $150 for two tickets, plus nearly $50 for parking, and honestly, the experience didn't feel elevated enough to justify the price. Outside of a DJ and a big countdown clock, there wasn't much that differentiated the event from a regular rooftop visit. What really threw me off was realizing the rooftop wasn't a private event--it was still open to casual guests. That meant a lot of kids, which... look, I'm glad they enjoyed the fireworks, but at that price point I fully expected an adults-only experience. Another letdown: the decor and lighting were unchanged from 2024. No NYE glow-up, no special touches--same setup, different calendar year. Meanwhile, the food hall downstairs was buzzing and honestly looked like it was having more fun than the rooftop crowd. Would I come back to POST Houston? Absolutely. Would I do the NYE rooftop party again at that price? Not a chance. Next year, I'll happily watch those incredible fireworks--from somewhere that doesn't charge premium prices for a regular night with a clock slapped on it. read more

Really cool spot! Amazing location! The rooftop has a spectacular view of the downtown Houston skyline... I got the chance to hang out with Houston Skateboards owner Dan for a while... He has an amazing lineup of products at his shop... I picked up a deck and a ski mask! I also visited the coffee shop for an Americano which was perfect.. Before I left I saw there was an art exhibit which had lasers and other strange mediums. Thanks to the post htx GM Crystal for the hospitality!! . POST Houston is an excellent location. If you wanted to you could spend all day here doing various things. There are so many options for food and vendors, frequent community activities and beautiful sky lawn that over looks the downtown skyline. I primarily come to partake of the restaurant but look forward to attending one of the many concerts or pop ups scheduled. It is downtown so you'll have to pay to park on site, but if you're lucky maybe you can find street parking. read more

What an incredible & unique place!! I've never been to something like this before! We lucked out & found out about POST on one of our last days in Houston. We wondered over around 4:00pm on a Saturday to get some food at the food court & check out the building. First thing was first - we headed to the food court. We walked around the entire food court area, soaked in the cool aesthetic of the place, & all the food vendors. There were sooo many food vendors to choose from! They had everything from salads to ice cream to burgers to tacos to a bar to other desserts. We decided on a place called Taco Fuego & it was delicious! Our food was ready less than 10 minutes after we ordered it. It did take us a minute to find a table for two but after walking around we were able to finally find one (there a couple larger tables open but we didn't want to take those because there were so many large parties walking around ordering food). After we ate our delicious food we went up to the Skylawn to walk around. We didn't stay up there long because the heat index was well over 100°F. We took pictures & enjoyed the views of downtown Houston on our brisk walk. After the rooftop we went back down into the building to the retail section. While I was a little disappointed in the small amount of retail vendors, I do believe this is something they are trying to build so I am excited to see how it has expanded next time I'm in town. If you are in Houston I highly recommend checking this place out! They have weekly skyfarmer's markets, music events on the roof, an art exhibit, & office space available for rent! Post is a downtown Houston area designed for the materialistic and millennial folks. Opened a couple years ago, it was designed to be aesthetic and Instagrammy; there are actually a decent amount of generally overpriced restaurants (in order to pay for the presumably large sum of rent) inside and a few grand staircases that repurposes the previous "industrial" interior. There is also a rooftop terrace that Instagrammies like go to pose and take pictures. The outside can be a nice place to sit down and watch the night sky on a cool day. A downside for this area is that recently Post has started charging for parking here and street parking nearby will also start to be charged, even on off office hours. This is a pain, as I remember the lot was free when Post "opened". read more

Very unique and locally owned restaurants which some are very good, different taste than the big corporate chains. The post has gone down since its opening. Less and less food options that are there. The ones there are left expensive and horrible. We had breakfast tacos from the potato place that was like left over from the day before taste. The Phillipino food eggrolls tasted like it expired and sour. It was just so disappointing! read more

We had tickets to roof top access, which was $50. There were zero signs or directions that we had to check in...leaving us walking up and down the stairs with a 3 year old. Of course, the elevator was broken. No one knew where the check-in for the wrist band was. We got to the check in table 3 minutes late- again zero signs, asking every personnel where to go with no correct response. The girl at the check-in table said we couldn't go up, despite the website allowing us to purchase 9:30PM tickets. We drove an hour & paid a parking lot fee, and the "supervisor" was super smug. This place is a bit overwhelming if you aren't prepared. Although it is a kid friendly place, unless you take grub to rooftop, seating is hard to find. I have been when place is jammed packed and when it is moderately full. Food from the different locations we went to still took a bit to come out. However, all that we have tried has been good. Granted some places change, and new places come in, not a lot of sweet treat options. There used to be a crepe place and it was WOW! Great for a couple outing, definitely a place for a solo outing as well. Lots of people watching and try small plates from a couple of places. POST is a fantastic hangout spot with plenty of vendors, parking, and activities to do. They have an upstairs area to hang out, kind of like a skyline/lounge area, but I was on a bit of a time crunch, so I didn't get to check it out. I really like the variety and abundance of shops/ places here. It has food court vibes, but not a lot of seating, honestly. It is definitely very modern and appeals to many age groups, and allows for various artists to showcase their work. I like that there's places to take photos, play gachapon, eat food, and also just to hang out to view the skyline. There's also souvenirs you can get too, which makes it a bit of a tourist destination. I spent about an hour here with friends and wished I was able to explore a bit more. There is also the parking lot, which you have to pay for, so carpooling is definitely recommended. read more

I absolutely loved this place and wanted to come back to try other places within the space, but we were on a trip determined to eat our way through the city and so I had no room for repeating places. Post was pretty cool if you're in the area. The food court was packed, and the food was decent. Food was expensive & the rooftop wasn't open when we went (which sucked). Post has such a unique vibe. I don't know about Downtown Houston, but living in Southern California, I've been exposed to many of these hipster indoor food courts. We ended up eating at ChopnBlok and got an agua fresca at one of the many available little eats in the area. There's a staircase in the middle of the place that leads to the rooftop but we did not check that out during out visit here. It's a really nice place to walk around and check out all the good food! We didn't quite understand the parking situation at first but there's a QR Code that you scan as you leave and once you enter in your plate number, it'll show you a picture of your car entering the parking lots via camera. You pay in the app and they give you a grace period of 30 minutes to make your way out of the lot and all you have to do is scan the barcode at the gates. read more

Great area for tourists!! Found some street parking nearby for cheaper than the on-site parking. There were a ton of shops inside with a bunch of options for different cuisines. I love the neon signs of everything which gave the place a nice vibe overall. We came at sort of an odd time but despite that it was seriously packed. Aside from the food there's a nice rooftop area with a bit of shade here and there, as well as a couple of temporary exhibits and working spaces. We went to a NASA one that happened to be there and it was very high quality. I'd come again especially with a group of people with different tastes. read more

Post Houston has so many wonderful restaurants to try, but parking can be extremely frustrating. Not only is it expensive, but if you're not careful, even a minute over the time limit can cost you extra. Of course, I'm exaggerating a bit, but I really dislike paying for parking anywhere. You have to think twice before coming here; not only do you have to pay, but you also have to find a parking spot. This area is usually very busy, so by the time you finally get to the door, you're already exasperated. Then, once you're inside, you have the excitement of choosing from all the amazing restaurants--it feels like a whole event! Lol. I'm exhausted to even thinking about it! read more
