I had a Caesar salad, my wife has the French onion soup and a grilled cheese and all items were solid. Also had the Chocolate chip cookies which were awesome. They have a ton of pastries that I look forward to trying down the line as well. Would definitely recommend.

I ordered the croque madame with the fried egg on top, and it was delicious. You can absolutely tell they use real butter--the true French way! My waistline might not thank them, but my tastebuds certainly did. I even brought home an almond croissant for the Hubby and snacked on a cheese and chive scone the next day, and everything was just fantastic. The only little hiccup is that the service can get a bit hectic. The staff seemed a little confused trying to match up the order numbers to the tables, and we almost got run over on our way out by a waiter sprinting to the patio! But even with the fast-paced environment, the food is wonderful whether you eat in or grab takeout. Definitely worth a visit! A much better experience here than MY 1st time. I think it's because they enlarged the dining area with more table space. It's still hard to have a conversation due to the high ceilings which echo the sound.

The restaurant itself is huge. The entrance side has seating and the largest side is all dining area. There is even seating outside. With this much seating and what clearly looks to be expansion, I expected top notch food. As I looked over the menu, I noticed they had a biscuit and homemade sausage gravy and for $4 more, they will add fried chicken. I order and chose hash browns since the waitress (who was very good) suggested it. Additionally, I chose to go with scrambled eggs. The massive plate of food came out and I was a little stunned. It was when I took a bite that all hope disappeared. I started with just a bit of biscuit. Not a biscuit. I am not sure what it was, but that is not a biscuit. Maybe a pancake made with biscuit batter? Next, I tried the biscuit with the sausage gravy. My brain had to pause for what it really was. Why is the sausage gravy sweet? Maple syrup? Where is the spice? What is going on? Then I tried the three together: biscuit, sausage gravy, and fried chicken breast. I am so glad they provided a steak knife to cut it because it was so tough and not worth the $4. The hash browns had no flavor (likely from a bag) and the scrambled eggs were definitely coming from a carton. The eggs had that weird texture eggs shouldn't have.

What mother and son work very hard to get the business what they deserve a success! The people around in the Lake Zurich community they create some issues because of their reserved parking spots in the busy downtown Lake Zürich you won't get your eyes off your epoxy flooring. They even remove my sandals just to get the feeling of shiny epoxy. And now I'm telling my wife I need epoxy in my garage.. Ambience I would say it's a bit loud just because of the high ceiling, but everyone is pretty quiet. I felt it was my kid who who was extremely excited to eat the dubai chocolate crêpes. Yes, this is the second time I'm coming in and all the times my order was chicken Panini and Dubai chocolate along with a coffee and gelato. All of these were 10 on 10. Next time, I'll try their cheese crepes to get a savory taste instead of sugar. I also wish they had veg, no meat, Panini with fresh mozzarella, some lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, avocado, peppers, and their Italian herbs maybe a suggestion for them to attract individuals like my wife who can eat everything else other than the meat she's OK with cheese all the milk products but no meat. She said that so many times that I actually had to put it in my review.

The server brought them to our table. The crepes were served with metal silverware. When my friend asked for more silverware so we could share our food, the sever told us that we could purchase plasticware for $1.95 a piece. This has to be the worst example of nickel and diming your customers. I will not be returning to Chic Cafe!
