Simply the Best: A Love Letter to Scooter's Coffee Mundelein!…read more If you're looking for the absolute crown jewel of Mundelein, look no further. I have been a loyal customer here since day one, and I can honestly say that my life has been significantly more caffeinated--and much happier--ever since they opened their windows! Why This Place is Pure Magic: * Lightning-Fast Service: I don't know how they do it, but the speed here is legendary. Whether the line is empty or wrapped around the building, you'll have a steaming (or icy!) cup of perfection in your hand before you can even finish picking your playlist. * The Ever-Evolving Menu: I love that they never let things get stale. Their rotating menus keep every visit feeling like a fresh adventure. There is always a creative, seasonal surprise waiting to be discovered. * Innovation in a Cup: They are constantly rolling out new drinks that I didn't even know I needed. From their signature Caramelicious to the latest limited-time fruit infusions, the flavor profiles are always spot-on and ahead of the curve. The Heart of the Operation Beyond the beans, it's the people that make this location truly special. The owners are absolutely wonderful--you can tell they truly care about the Mundelein community and take immense pride in what they've built. And the staff? They are the sunshine of my mornings! Always wearing the biggest smiles, incredibly polite, and they handle the morning rush with a level of grace and positivity that is honestly inspiring. Bottom Line: If you haven't been to the Mundelein Scooter's yet, you are missing out on the best part of the day. 10/10, five stars, and a huge thank you to the team for keeping me fueled all these years!

She helped us place our order because we couldn't find the croissant on the kiosk, served us our drinks and snacks, and was unbothered by the fact we hung out for about an hour, doing puzzles, writing Yelp reviews, and reading a book. My matcha was delicious, my daughter loved her caramel latte, and my boyfriend tried the chai latte. He likes his on the sweeter side so he wasn't quite sure, but I enjoyed it! The croissant was fairly priced and served nicely on a real plate. The music was instrumental and not too loud so I could concentrate. The bathrooms were unisex, spacious, and immaculately clean. I would definitely plan my route to and from the area to include a stop here and I hope the shop finds lots of success!

The mango and toppings made it even better but I could honestly eat a whole bucket of the ice itself. I also tried the lemonade which was super fresh. The barista was nice and took her time making each item which I appreciated. The cafe itself is very cute and there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy a drink or treat. I will definitely be coming back for more bingsoo.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me…read morethan most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!

It seems like they hired more people and the same change staff often. Cashier is always taking forever to take orders. They are always confused with what's going on especially for takeout orders. This place is so special for us and we really hope they can recognize the problem and frustration they have caused.

First off, they give you a free biscuit on Tuesdays, so leave room for that. I ordered the griddled ham and cheese crepe, and it's one of the most delicious breakfast items I think I've ever had. The ham is a tiny bit sweet, which balances out the richness of the Gruyère and hollandaise nicely. It's also huge-two giant crepes as big as my head! I finished one and took the other one home-it heated up really nicely. I also ordered the apple/gouda chicken sausage. The flavor was good, though a tiny bit on the dry side (which tends to happen with chicken sausage). I ordered the cookie butter latte as well, delicious and not too sweet. Service was good, even though they were pretty busy when they were there. Prices are good too, especially for how much food you get. One note: they don't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait, especially on the weekends.

Lemon blueberry pancakes were yummy and fluffy and had juicy berries throughout! Service was a little slow, but otherwise good. We sat inside, but should've sat on the gorgeous patio!
