Update after 9 months: it's still our regular to-go place but the cashier service is getting worse and worse. They were super busy when just opened up but service was fast and accurate. It seems like they hired more people and the same change staff often. Cashier is always taking forever to take orders. They are always confused with what's going on especially for takeout orders. This place is so special for us and we really hope they can recognize the problem and frustration they have caused.

I don't know how we lived just a few miles away for years, and didn't know about this place. We have been there now in back to back weeks and are just blown away by the quality and flavors. What an absolute gem of a place. Yes, the set up and the ordering is a bit clunky, but just a bit of patience and you will be rewarded by some of the best Italian food in the north suburbs. Everything we have eaten there now has been amazing and we will definitely be back over and over again. The Tuscan pasta, one of the best pasta dishes I have had in years.

Why does Long Grove always feel like some magical far away place when it's really much closer to me than most places I go? It's probably because of spots like this. When my yelp friends check-in places I always take a peek and add the interesting stuff to my massive and unorganized list of anything and everything I could ever want to try... this place popped up a few times, and I do love good pastries, so I had to make a trip. I say pastries but what really sold me was the pizza slice a buddy got, a savory excuse always helps. I got there before the dinner rush. I know that because it was calm when I got in line, though the line was full. When I left the place was crowded. There are actually 2 lines. One for savory and one for sweet. So like I said, I was here for that pizza slice... and I got it. I'm not sure if they make more throughout the day but there were just a few slices left that I could see. Score! But I do want to say that the more filling pasta dishes and such look AMAZING. I saw gorgonzola garlic bread and had to try that as well... and an arancini. Everything really looked so good, I wanted it all. It's a good thing I love bread because I ate a lot of it here! Great flavor and texture on the garlic bread, I love the little funk from the cheese. Arancini was fried up nicely and didn't retain excess oil. The slice is really good. It's a fair warning that it's about 90% bread, but I understand they make their own dough here and it shows. The crust is so crispy and airy, it's a nice experience. Next up, dessert. I grabbed a Nutella croissant and some gelato, both delicious! The gelato was rich and creamy. The croissant, which they fill to order with your choice of flavors, is another flex on how good their dough and bread baking skills are. Perfect texture, no notes. Would and will eat again. Amazing atmosphere that feels like a quick vacation, and outdoor tables perfect for the warm season. Friendly and inviting staff as well, they tried to sell me on the pear flavor gelato. Maybe next time. This is a not so hidden gem of a spot and a must try for bread lovers! I'll be back soon for pasta and more!

Sorelle is a nice eatery, bakery, and café in Long Grove. My husband and I came to Sorelle for dessert after having lunch. I was amazed at the selection of food, drinks, and dessert available. We got the chocolate gelato, coffee, hot chocolate, tiramisu, and a pastry. Everything was really good. It tasted fresh and was made with high quality ingredients. The atmosphere is as nice as the food. It is decorated really nicely. It feels like you're in Italy. I highly recommend Sorelle!

A taste of Italy right in our backyard! Such a cute place, we came by for dinner one night and didn't know what to expect. When you walk in, there's a case for pastries and coffees, and you walk straight for all the entrees. You order first, and they'll bring the food out to you. We couldn't decide between a few things before we ended up with the osso Buco and the nonna's lasagna. The osso buco was delish, it did take a little while to come out but the flavors were great. The risotto was a tad underdone, but again the flavors were SO good. The lasagna needed something for a little crunch, but overall the flavors were fine. We also were recommended the garlic bread, I didn't really taste the garlic, and the Gorgonzola was a bit over powering for the pieces of toast but a great app to share. We tried a few different Italian drinks, I wanted to try the peach tea but they were sold out. Next time! We wrapped up our meal we got some gelato. We did a mix of half raspberry and half vanilla. That vanilla gelato was so good I'm still thinking about it. Overall we had a great time, parking was easy, staff was great, and food was good.

Sorelle is a fantastic addition to the area. It's half high-end Italian deli counter, half stylish cafe dining space I stopped in for lunch and had a great panini with roasted red peppers and fresh greens on some of the best focaccia/ciabatta bread I've had in a while. Ended the meal with a pistachio cannoli that was spectacular. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and inviting, and the service behind the counter was super friendly and fast. Highly recommend dropping in whether you want a quick lunch or a nice sit-down meal.

This place is so cute and family friendly while still staying a perfect date night spot. The seating inside and outside were plentiful. I really enjoyed how the dishes were in full view while in line to order. You knew exactly what you were getting. I knew the food was going to be tasty but we were actually blown away at how tasty everything was! The marinara sauce was perfect. We cannot wait to go back and try some of the pastries!

Such a cute restaurant! I really enjoyed the intricate Italian decor, especially the vespas right at the entrance. You are immediately thrusted across the pond following the lemon vines spidering over the ceiling, wine racks along the wall, freshly baked bread/pastries and bold flowers along the arch of the doorway. Every detail enhances the experience of walking the streets of Italy from every sight to every aromatic smell. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was very kind and eager to tend to our table. The croissant was buttery and flaky. The cheese melted over the crispy bacon was delicious! I would definitely like to return another time but during lunch hours to try more!

absolutely loved it here. perfect spot for a date: it's dark and charming and quaint, like a painting come to life. service was friendly and very quick. there was life music too. vince amore's performance was amazing and soulful. the pear and arugula salad was equal parts simple and extraordinary. no notes!! boyfriend said his panino had a very nice flavor profile and was filling without leaving you feeling "heavy" after. so happy to have found this place & can't wait to return!

Yummy breakfast this am and I enjoyed the organic cappuccino. The egg bites have garlic and caramelized onions and spinach . It took a while for the pastries but they were tasty and I love how pretty this restaurant is . I noticed they took away a couch that I used to sit at but the chairs are comfortable.

Third times the charm!! Finally found an Italian restaurant that is comparable to the flavors in Italy!! This charming restaurant served us truly delicious comfort food. It was packed but they moved the long line for orders quickly. Unique in a way as the restaurant displays samples of plates from the menu for customers so they know what to order and expect. An excellent idea especially for a visual person like me!!!! An upscale cafeteria style restaurant . Customers choose their own tables and gather their own utensils. There's a water dispenser available to customers as well. The simple but flavorful Pear and Arugala Salad was devine!! I wanted more!! So good!! I had the Fusilli Bolognese. Pasta was al dente and meat sauce was seasoned to perfection!! Just the right serving. So delicious!! What my husband ordered was not what was served. We told our waiter, he apologized, and no further questions asked other than what my husband ordered, which was the Rigatoni alla Genovese and not Spicy Rigatoni. He came back promptly with a smile and delivered the correct order. Great customer service!! I tasted my husband's dish and the meat sauce was excellent. I'll order that next time We also had the Afogato, which was good but wish it was served in a tall cup for such a small size. It was a bit messy too. I tried the Hazelnut gelato and the texture was off. Not creamy at all. Gritty and super sweet!! Will be coming back for more and most definetly worth a try!!

Found this cute Italian cafe right off 22. There are plenty of options to pick from- from drinks, to pastries and desserts, to actual meals. You order once you come in, and then sit down and wait for your food. The melanzana panino (eggplant sandwich) was delish. The bread it is on, is so crispy, yet very light and airy. The Roman Square Pizza slices are as big as my toddlers face- and again very light and airy. The gelato is a nice way to end the meal- and I believe the gelato is made small batch, and in house.

Sorelle is an exceptional Italian cafe and coffee shop located in Long Grove offering delectable pastries and Sicilian classics with exceptional ambiance, service, and value. Our family came on a Saturday afternoon to a bustling cafe and few empty tables (always a good sign). We ordered the Ham Arancini ($3.50) - a rich, but not heavy ball of cheese and rice decadence. Paired with this was an excellent cannoli ($3.50) - a crispy light shell stuffed with decadent, creamy ricotta and dusted with pistachio. The panna cotta pistachio ($4.00) was similarly delicious, with a caramel and pistachio topping. Light, scrumptious, not heavy. An iced latte ($3.50) rounded things out which was great but not exceptional. A special word must be said for the service. Our Arancini order was forgotten, and after bringing it to the staff's attention, the owner himself made us the delicious dish and delivered it to us personally with an apology. We asked several questions about the restaurant, which we were quite impressed by at this point, and he indulged. Spectacular service. The interior is well decorated and airy, adorned by a Vespa and the food and prices proudly on display. There's ample seating outside by the water making for an excellent ambiance. As noted above, prices are truly excellent for food of this quality; we easily would have paid a few more dollars per item. Excellent value. With unforgettable food, spectacular service, and an amazing ambiance at perfect prices, the Sorelle sisters make an unforgettable Italian cafe. Sorelle is seeped in success and has rightfully earned every bit of it - spettacolare! Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 5/5

The restaurant is located in a cute little downtown area, and we had a wonderful time sitting outside on their patio. There is also a convenient parking lot right across the street, which made arrival a breeze. The service throughout our visit was fantastic. When I informed our server that I have celiac disease, they were attentive and accommodating. I ordered a glass of the Moscato and the gluten-free rigatoni, and it turned out to be one of the best plates of GF pasta I have ever had! I also really appreciated that they explicitly acknowledged my dish as gluten-free when it was set down at the table. Regarding the menu and bread service, items are not specifically marked as gluten-free on the menu, though a gluten-free pasta substitution is available. They didn't have or offer gluten-free bread for the table, and instead brought out regular bread. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for patio dining with incredible gluten-free pasta and attentive servers. With just a bit more awareness regarding dedicated GF bread for celiac guests, it would easily be a five-star experience. I will definitely be back!

The first tricky part is finding the entrance because it's not really obvious as expected in long grove There's no real signs. Further, the next tricky piece is finding parking if you can get it on the street or find it in the lot now luckily both are free. Once I managed to find a door to the place, it turned out to be the back door and so I had to climb up a bunch of stairs in order to get to the front part of the restaurant to actually check in for the reservation. And yes, please make a reservation. This place does get packed even for early times. The service was really friendly and very nice however, I will say overall the food was OK but nothing really standoffish. For example, if you look at the pictures of the food quite bluntly it just looks like they slapped food onto a plate. There's really no thought that's been put into the presentation. There's really been no thought also to just the pure amounts of cheese and sauce that are also creating a swimming pool on the plate. We ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer and even that was swimming in olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and too much of everything I think the food is OK but nothing fantastic. Considering the overly saturated Chicagoland market of Italian restaurants I wouldn't necessarily say this was at the top of my list.

The rectangular pizza was cut into six squares, and had the dark browned cheesy edges as expected. It was really good! The cheese and sauce both tasted great, and edges were crunchy but did not taste burnt. Maybe the small menu is their secret to getting their food just right. Kyle was our server and he was excellent. His attitude was positive and he took time to converse but was also quick with his service. The server often makes the experience and Kyle did his part well! As for the food, we started with a half plate of grilled calamari which was more than enough for two people. The calamari was excellent tasting and perfectly cooked. The sauce was tasty and great for dipping your bread in (you get warm toasty bread at the start of your meal with a plate of seasoned olive oil for dipping). Next, we split an entree of Chicken Franchese which was more than enough food for two people...especially after the calamari. They split the meal into two plates in the kitchen, without us asking, which was really nice. The chicken was tender and flavorful. We substituted angel hair pasta and used the sauce from the chicken instead of marinara. It was excellent. We had some food left and Kyle boxed it carefully for us right at the table (I typically don't like when they take your food elsewhere to box it. I typically do it myself but this was good). Prices have crept up over the years but portions are huge and with service like we had, it makes it feel a bit more worth it. The restaurant is small and a bit cramped inside. There's typically an early crowd that thins out around 6:30 pm. You may have to wait a bit to be seated if you don't make reservations. Hopefully they move into a bigger spot in the mall they're in to make it a bit less packed. Two bathrooms are single occupant and clean but there can be a wait to get in. Gianni's is an excellent restaurant with a great team. You should check it out.
