I've been going to this location for more than three years. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and incredibly reliable--they've never made a mistake, which really impresses me. The can ship USPS UPS FedEx.. awesome services and great value They speak five languages and create a welcoming, diverse environment. I especially appreciate that they can help my non-English-speaking grandparents--it means a lot to me. Sometimes, I've noticed that when the staff assists non-English-speaking customers, it upsets certain people. This place is located in a convenient place to be able to drop off packages and get basic supplies, and I think they take both Fedex and UPS. But the woman who helped me was so mean -- unnecessarily. I disagree with other reviewers. Came here separate times for LiveScan fingerprinting then for shipping package cross country. They handle USPS, FedEx, and UPS and instantly give you all rates once boxed up and ready. I believe they also offer boxing services for a fee. Asian lady is a MACHINE and gets everything done quickly. This is great so she can cycle through the customers quickly. From observer's standpoint, customers come in not knowing how they want to ship, expected costs, how to properly package, etc. which they can help with. No frills but reliable, trustful, quick, and gets the job done. read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. AVOID. Extremely rude and aggressive. I asked to borrow some tape for my packaging and the lady actually raised her voice and YELLED. She asked why I would come mail my package if it's not ready. I said I didn't have tape at home but I'm happy to buy some. She refused to sell any tape to me and insisted that I can "use" their tape for two dollars. I said that's fine, but she again YELLED because I didn't have two dollars cash. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE NOT ASIAN! I needed to complete my Hazmat and TWIC Card for CDL purposes after I pre enrolled online on the TSA website. I was mistreated so bad by both the Asian lady and her husband which I feel was because of my race. She spoke to every Asian who came in so nicely and with a different tone but to me she was so rude and disgusting. She insisted that I needed a live scan form for Hazmat and TWIC which is completely false as I completed the process today at a different location who treated me with dignity and respect with my birth certificate and state DL as stated by the email I received by TSA themselves. Her husband with his snarky remarks about my generation which is funny as he could hardly work an iPhone. I reported this location to TSA and they will be investigating on why I was refused service even though I brought my proper documentation. I had to do a live scan and literally read the instructions given to me in the form which said, "LIVE SCAN OPERATOR MUST ENTER THE INFORMATION." Hamid said in a very rude manner, "I don't need instructions...I have been doing this for 30 years." He continued to be rude but started to fill out the form. As I was watching him do it, he did it in such an incompetent manner, I had to just take my form back and leave. There are other stores (UPS and PostalAnnex) on Culver just a few miles away that can do live scan. Please go to those other places and don't bother going to this store only to experience Hamid's rudeness. I would imagine his rudeness probably bleeds into other aspects of his business (shipping, notary, etc). I went to another store right after. While the employee of the other store explained that they don't fill out the form for the customers, he did it in such a courteous way. I will NEVER again use this Postal Annex location. This is my first time leaving a negative review. I have been patronizing this Postal Annex for many years. The prior owners (circa early 2000 years) provided excellent customer service and genuinely cared about you , however, the new owners since taking over, have always been very rude and I have exerted patience and much tolerance the past several years. Today, I finally decided to end my patronizing of this Postal Annex location after the owners; an Asian Lady and her Middle Eastern husband were so adamant with charging me 2 dollars for simply taping my box, that needed to be re-taped (A small amount of about 6-8 inches of clear tape was used! ). I told them that they should just provide the little amount of tape as a concession or gesture of thanks for an old and loyal customer and they immediately yelled stating that they have to pay rent. I told them that $2 charge for tape won't significantly contribute to their revenue totals to pay their rental obligations and they began yelling again for payment. Rather than waste my time and energy with these owners and remain in debate mode, I simply came back and paid the $2 for the small amount of tape used. Any other company would have just said, "It's okay no charge," thus, demonstrating their commitment to customers by this small gesture which would also contribute to strengthening their customer retention. Others standing in line, were appalled by the owners' behavior. I do not recommend this place of business. There are other choices out there that won't add stress to your day and are operated by owners and employees who truly understand customer service and how to build customer retention via the very little things that they can do to make a customer happy. Focusing on charging a $2 fee for a very small amount of tape has no real return of value for them, instead, it led to the loss of an old customer who has helped them pay rent these past several years. read more

This place is sketchy. They charged me $20 for a $14.60 book of stamps, so their fee was $5.40! That's insane. My sister needed to get a live scan check done but only at certain locations. We came in on a Monday afternoon and a nice woman greeted us right away. She was helping other people and still greeted us, she walked us through the process and waited until her employee was finished with someone else ,to help us. It was such an easy process, we were only there less than 15 minutes! All my sister needed to do was get finger printed and pay the fee! The indian male working at the register was SO RUDE. i was dropping off a UPS package and then asked if there was a receipt. Then he said if i wanted it i had to ask for it and that it was $10. I asked why it was $10 and the lady said he was joking but he was not funny at all. As i proceeded to leave after i got the receipt i told him the way he said that was rude to a customer. I drove to the postal annex. Waited in a slow moving line. One register open and 2 clerks spent 5 plus minutes on a 4 dollar transaction with the customer in front of me. The post office is fast in comparison. I was returning a package to Amazon and had packed the box with packing material. One label for the outside of the box and one labeled merchant use goes inside. Since the merchant has to scan the barcode, the box was unsealed. Rude clerk criticized me and wants 2 dollars to seal this very small box. I say no and she loses it and we start arguing. The notary person A-Hamid Amini did not even read the document with the information requested, slammed a certificate down, shoved my husband's finger on the book for fingerprinting and said "Pay me over here." He refused to acknowledge the necessary information on the document and proceeded to merely argue with me. I am utterly appalled at his disregard to look at my document. Clearly, he needs a new job because he is not happy with it and takes it out on customers. Update: I called my company who stated, "Yes, the notary must write out the information requested on the document onto his certificate." After SECOND and THIRD TRIPS to this store, my company said "Find another notary." And we did- one that actually read my document and put in the info needed onto the California certificate. I stopped in with my documents to renew my passport to update my last name. The woman that helped me was very thorough and went through each document that was needed. She was so helpful and humorous. I have read several reviews saying that they had problems being denied shipment of packages because of the tape color or improper boxes. The same thing happened to me. I took the package that was being shipped from my eBay account. The label had already been printed. I too believe it because I am not buying anything from them they don't really want me there. She tried to reject my box saying it was too heavy because it weighed more than a pound. I am wondering if this branch is a franchise. Came in for a passport photo, and there's two available clerks, but only the main Honchette could take the photo. She has a makeshift setup in the back, and she allows you to check the photo before she prints. $15 for two; she uses a 2x2" cutter to ensure compliance with passport books. Plus, she's quite the comic relief in such a stoic expressionless world nowadays! The place has packages strewn everywhere, though, and the counter is quite cluttered. While I was waiting for her, it was not conducive to browsing around. I was done in approximately 10 minutes though! There's also passport applications there and she says she can help ensure that the application has been completed accurately before sending off. read more
