Dropped a pre-paid Fedex package off at this location on a Monday before the Fedex cutoff. By Wednesday the package still hadn't been tendered to Fedex, so we went back to the store and asked for the package back so we could take it elsewhere. The owner straight up lied and said Fedex collected it on Monday. Then that Wed. evening the Fedex tracking status was updated to indicated it was dropped off at PostalAnnex after the cutoff and would be collected the next day. Thursday evening he finally tendered the package to Fedex. Meanwhile, my customer who I was shipping an order to thinks that I'm the lazy one sitting on their package. I needed a notary public so I went to my bank thinking they will always have one available but to my surprise, no one was available to do it. My bank suggested the UPS store in the same shopping strip but the Notary had left for the day. I've made a couple of phone calls and found out Postal Annex in Poway offers the service. So, that's where I went the following morning to get my document notarized. I was more than happy to pay them the $15 fee instead of other places because they've became a friend since I moved here in Poway 5 years ago. They are always friendly and pleasant to help you with your postal needs. I recommend them to friends and family. read more

I usually don't do reviews but this one was very much needed because people need to understand how convenient this spot makes your life and how great it is. Mark is the coolest and most helpful worker. I found out that he owns this place and he runs it so professionally. He's extremely friendly and understanding. His customer service skills are out of this world he ended up helping me load my car on to the tow of a U-Haul for some time after work. It's pretty great seeing that he spent time out of his day after hours to help me. I would recommend this place to anybody for any service , stamps notary , U-Haul , whatever you need ! Amazing staff and very helpful, Walked in to take my passport photo had it done in couple of minutes, While I was waiting the gentleman asked me if I was renewing my passport, I had answered yes, but I need it expedited and he offered me that service I got my new passport in 2 weeks. Today was my second time utilizing this office since moving back to Poway and I felt compelled to leave them a review. Having done business with multiple shipping offices and companies over the years from Postal Annexes, UPS stores, FedEx, etc. Poway's Postal Annex is by far the best. Today for instance, I took a box with a few different items that were going back to the manufacturer for repair/refund, but I didn't have boxes, or bubble wrap and I was in a hurry. The clerk working there didn't scoff, or give me a hard time about being ill prepared, but instead very quickly gave me a total for the supplies needed and said she'd get it taken care of for me. I already had tracking numbers from the RMA request, but even still, I was in and out in probably 3 minutes. I will continue using this office exclusively and I like how it feels like a small town, family run office. Two thumbs up for the Poway Postal Annex crew! :) read more

I walked in and I was greeted friendly granted I still didn't feel welcomed when I was simply asking questions regarding pricing due to this being a Franchise ownership and pricing is different per location. I was in the area and needed to mail some very important documents. I was having issues getting something notarized and Mark from Postal Annex made sure he took care of the issue efficiently. The place has expanded and more additions have been made to the store which made it convenient for me since I had to ship a large painting and needed material which I didn't have that this postal annex provided. I was in Poway Road Postal Annex today to send a package to my daughter in Virginia. As it contained jewelry from my mother and grandmother that I was sending to my daughter I was having difficulty packing it. I took everything in a box receive great assistance and information. I received an exhaust system that was packaged by this location. I was charged $75 for packaging. Check the pictures, $75 for a couple layers of bubble wrap?? And parts of the exhaust were exposed so of course what do you expect? It was damaged. The shipping cost was $300 so a whopping $375 for total shipping, so I opted not to get insurance. Yeah it was a mistake, but I expected that since I was paying $75 for packaging, I was expecting it to be sent with much better protection. For $75 I was expecting the exhaust to be wrapped in gold for crying out loud. Why couldn't have you just put them in boxes and then threw in some shipping popcorn, along with the bubble wrap. There's no way a couple layers of bubble wrap could have costed $75. And to not fully cover it? The seller that I bought the exhaust from also made sure to notify the employees to be extremely careful with the items, and obviously y'all are hard of hearing, or just lousy. Either way, you guys deserve less than 1 star, if I could give less than 1. I'd rather pay Stevie Wonder to package it than y'all. At least he'd put in the effort. read more

I lost my wallet and phone bag in the parking lot to the shopping center where they are located. Someone turned it into this business. I get a phone call a week or so later from a worker name Dennis. He had tracked me down through the contents of my wallet to return the bag to me. Upon doing so he even refused a reward money. In my opinion if you are in need of the services that this company provides this is the store that you must shop at. For no other reason than Dennis shows what absolute customer service is all about. So I came here to fedex one thing and mail a letter and the line had about three people ahead of me. I figured it would take a little bit of time, but the lady at the counter was super fast/efficient. She was also very sweet. I was in here for about five minutes which I think is record timing for coming to a postal place! Upon walking in I noticed they had a table for kids to sit at and draw. They had coloring books and even a bulletin board to hang up the masterpieces! I thought it was very sweet. When I was at the counter I noticed they had a sign that said they give 15 color copies to you for lost pet flyers. I think that is really amazing so if you ever need to make lost pet flyers this place is willing to help you out. Definitely recommend this place! They do fedex which I wasn't expecting and what great timing because as I was about to walk out the door, the fedex truck just arrived! What luck! read more

The new owners are incredibly outstanding, they had a long line and I was greeted with a welcome as soon as I walked in, mark who I believe is the new franchise owner is outstanding and super professional, I ended up getting a PO Box with them and I couldn't be happier, the prices are honestly just like any other shipping facility that you go to, you get what you pay, I was concerned at first reading the comments but I feel like if you cannot afford to ship something out, you have the right to go anywhere, but these guys have definitely earned my business, thank you Mr. Eshaq for your great service. read more

New owners as of July 2014. The former owner died a few months ago. I had used this place a few times for shipping and notary and the former owner was always so tired and seemed so bothered that I started driving out of my way to go to the UPS store in Carmel Mountain. We had something that needed to be notarized and I thought we'd go ahead and give this place another try. The new owners were there, extremely friendly and seemed very happy to have us come in. I asked if they just bought the place, they said yes. Really nice people. I asked about the former owner and found out she passed away. She did always seem to be very tired, poor lady worked every day even though she wasn't well. The new owner used to run a mobile notary service here in Poway. I told them I'll be back for lots of other stuff and that I'm happy that they bought this business. I think they will run a great store and I hope people like me who didn't enjoy coming here in the past will give them a try. read more

Super nice people! The owners are always friendly and helpful. I've sent prepaid packages from here before and even if I don't have it all set and ready to go, they take it and tape it up and apply the shipping labels for me in a jiffy. I'm in and out in less than a minute. Nice for a shipping store! They print 15 color copies of lost pet fliers for free! I had to utilize this service recently, and although I didn't find my kitty, I did receive a few calls as a result of the fliers. I am super appreciative of their kindness. read more

The lady here who acts as a public notary is terrible. Rude, ignorant and insulting towards the military and people from out of state. Stay away! She is, apparently, also unaware of state law which allows a military ID card to suffice as identification (lady, please reference the handbook). All in all, I won't come back here, and I encourage others to do the same. read more

I came in for a notary, I said "Hi There, im here for a notary", The woman not only didnt acknowledge that i was there, she FINALLY looked up at me and said... "ugh, can you come back in a hour, im eating my lunch".... are you fricken kidding me??? YOUR SIGN SAYS OPEN AND ITS DURING BUSINESS HOURS?!? Ugh RUDE!!! i turned around and went to the one by the Target in Poway where they were MUCH more helpfull! I told them the awful experience I had just had and they gave me the phone number to call so i could report it. Not all Postal Annexes are awful, just stay away from these gypsy's!!! read more

I used this business twice for my shipping needs. Basic service - package and ship via UPS. The same person served me both times. The woman was fundamentally disinterested in helping. In fact, she was borderline rude. On my first trip she was reluctant to stop her casual conversation with her friend/family member, stand up and come to the counter to help me. When she did, she avoided eye contact, barked out a few orders, and was relieved to finalize the transaction so she could get back to her conversation - which she immediately did without so much as a thank you. On my second trip, I had the same level of rude service. I have had much, much better service from Kinkos/FedEx which is right across the street as well as from the UPS stores in Ramona and off of Scripps Poway Parkway. Hell, USPS is far better than this Postal Annex. I recommend avoiding this store all together. read more

The last time I go here. The woman who works here acts like she is extrememly botherd by anyone who walks through the door. They also charged me and extra $5.00 for a small box and a $2.00 labor charge just for doing what the post office does for free. What a rip off! It ended up cost me $25 to ship a $15 pair of earrings regular ground shipping. read more
