Here's the deal...I like their food. I have times when I genuinely crave their veggie melt. But without fail, every single time I order over the course of like 5 years, they miss something. In the past I have called because I paid for an extra topping, but normally it's just the freebies so I open my sandwich knowing something won't be right. It's almost funny at this point. Today, I ordered the newer version of the veggie melt and it is supposed to come with avocado slices and there were none. I am not a swiss cheese fan so I always sub feta for that part, got swiss today and it's not the first time. Possibly they ran out of feta and avocado but maybe call me or text instead of just doing whatever. Did I eat the food? Yes, but it seems there is a lack of attention by the people that work there. And it's been going on for years. Will I keep eating there? Yes, only when they have the BOGO coupons because they do it often enough and that's a deal even if something is missing from your sandwich! Broccoli cheddar soup was good and piping hot. read more

delivery warning: we have ordered the Uber eats "buy 1 get 1" sandwich 2 times now this month. We upgraded to the larger sub both times. Both times we did NOT get 2 large sandwiches we got two sub EACH HAVING LESS than a half order of meats/cheese. This time I took the insides out of both SKIMPY sandwiches and put them in one. Piece of bread... low and behold combined It still was NOT one full sandwich. Both times we ordered multiple shakes and both times NOT cookies came. That's the best part... that's why I get one personally. This sandwich shop is great but you have to go in person. If you order delivery through a third party they will cut your portions and leave out the garnishes. myself and my family will not be doing business with this specific store anymore seeing as this is a pattern. read more

What's your Potbelly jam? Mine is original chix salad on wheat, no cheese, and Garden Salsa Sun Chips. This location always gets it right, and ordering in or online is a breeze. I like the Milwaukee throwback decor, which is a signature of all Potbellys (which was a lunch staple of mine, when I worked in downtown Chicago, shoutout Riverside locations!). Service is a-okay, sometimes there's an old guy here, playing guitar, and while parking around here can be difficult, that's no fault of theirs. A-okay on the East Side. read more

By far the preferred Potbelly shop in the Milwaukee area. They have all the same goods as a normal Potbelly's except this particular shop gives extraordinary service! One of my hands down favorite is the chicken pot pie soup! To die for! It's so good. I always ask for extra crunchy breading crust stuff they put in it. It's absolutely perfect for this time of year. Something hot to warm up the soul. This place like many Potbelly's also has music on occasion. Besides the warm atmosphere, great service and high vaulted ceilings, being located on the East side of MKE this location is absolutely perfect. Good stuff going on here! I am VERY disappointed with my first experience with them. I decided to order 2 shakes and a mac and cheese for delivery. I ordered at 8pm and clicked the "next available delivery (9-9:15pm) option. I clicked submit and got my confirmation email. After waiting for almost 45 minutes I began getting annoyed and looked at the email to see that they had changed the delivery time to 10am THE NEXT DAY without informing me. This will be my first and last time ordering or going to a PotBelly's location. read more

Allow me to start off by saying that if quality of the food is all you care about, this potbelly is easily worth 5 stars to me. To start with the delightful aroma of the sandwich and or soup upon first revealing it's splendor from its containment, to the sensational subsequent devouring of every last morsel, potbelly has never disappointed. The experience of eating potbelly is truly to die for. However, my experience with potbelly has so far been 99% delivery orders with but one in person visit; a visit that left both the aforementioned exquisite taste of wonderful food, as well as a less exciting, yet not displeasing, taste in my mouth. The ambience of the establishment itself is somewhat lacking. Perhaps on a more lively day it could be more inviting, again, I've only been the once so i wouldn't know for certain. The stand out flaw with entering the building to order would have to be the auditory ambience. Where you may expect some light, brand safe music to playing, just quiet enough as not to disrupt the aura, yet perhaps still loud enough to subliminally increase one's mood in some pseudo-scientific fashion, I found only an unspecified white noise. A white noise that was just a little too loud to where both myself and the employees behind the counter had to repeat ourselves just barely enough times for it to be noteworthy. The service was average and ultimately un-noteworthy. It was decently fast and impersonal though not so far as to be rude. Overall I expected the curtains to fit better to the drapes, in the sense that; i expected such outstanding food to be accompanied by an equally outstanding in-shop experience. At the end of the day it wasn't bad by any means, just teetering on the brink of "i should've just ordered this for delivery instead". If i were allowed to be more precise in my rating i would put this potbelly at a clean 4.7 read more

I'm not giving them 5 stars because of the food-because lets be honest, it's a sandwich chain shop that'll have the same exact food wherever you go. I'm giving them 5 stars for fantastic customer service. It's fast even during the lunch rush and the workers are friendly and attentive. Here's a little anecdote for ya: I stopped in for a coffee shake and joked that they only gave me one cookie. So the cashier sent me away with a little baggy of the cookies to enjoy. After living on the east side for the last 3 months, and trying to maintain a healthier lifestyle.....my normal sub haunts were getting stale. I won't eat at Jimmy Johns for personal reasons, Subway's processed meat and frozen bread does nothing for me, Cousin's and Koppa's are good...but with a Potbelly in the area, I'm definitely looking forward to this. I stopped in tonight for their Oven Warming party which is basically just a soft grand opening. $5 donated to a local school got you a sub, drink and chips. Despite being packed and a whole family of ignorant people in front of me who didn't understand the concept of sub, chips, and drink.....service was very fast and awfully friendly. I typically have had very positive experiences with Potbelly. Recently placed an order online for delivery. App stated 20 minutes for delivery. After 50 minutes and my food had not arrived I called the store to ask about status of my order. The woman stated My order has been ready however delivery service not picking it up. I couldn't believe the store did not reach out to me to communicate that they were having delivery issues! Oh yeah my sandwich has been sitting out for 45 minutes at this point why would I even want it? At this point store is closing in 20 minutes so I asked for my order to be cancelled. Next day noted that my order had not been cancelled and I had been charged for order which was approximately $20. I called the store when it opened and asked to speak to the manager. Explained the situation including that I did receive my food, my order was not cancelled and I was charged for $20 of food that I did not receive. I indicated that I order frequently for delivery and never had any other issues. The manager stated he would refund the money and offered to send me some coupons in the mail. He took my information to mail them. The refund was issued two days later. Disappointed that I had to call twice to get this situation rectified. The coupon offer was a nice touch however I never received them. read more

The first time I had Potbelly I was in highschool. The second time I had Potbelly, I was at this location. It's better than I remembered? My initial takeaway wasn't super great, but maybe they've changed their game. Maybe I'm just older and appreciate the little things, like toasting, more that I did when I was a 16 year old punk. Maybe I don't mind paying for things like bacon to add deliciousness to everything. Maybe my life is a lie. Anyway, the sandwich was good. It's easier to find now that the scaffolding has been removed. This is right across the street from Qdoba on Prospect. Potbelly is one of my favorite sandwich chains. I always get the roast beef with provolone, and it's always fantastic. This location is pretty new to the east side, and it's a shame it's hidden by a lot of construction right now. My sandwich artist? server? lady? was fantastic. Very chatty, relate-able, yet efficient. While you're there, I highly recommend not skipping on getting one of their sugar cookies, which are baked exactly how I like them. I don't know what you weirdos expect out of a national sandwich chain, but personally, I don't expect much. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to doling out 5 stars, because for me, it's all about places delivering what you'd expect. This place goes above and far beyond what you'd expect out of any of the national sandwich chains. The people at this location are always super cool and conversational; I honestly feel like these guys are legitimately interested in how my day is going and they always call me by name - and that's a characteristic difficult to find in any business. The place is clean and the decor is pretty rad I guess. But about the food.... I COULD EAT A BIG WRECK WITH A PEANUTBUTTER SHAKE AND A SUGAR COOKIE EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR THE REST OF MY GOD DAMNED LIFE. Seriously. Sandwiches = on point. I toss everything on that bitch too. Man are their peppers good. Mmmm. Their employees probably hate me for asking for a peanut butter shake every time (it's not on their menu but I get it anyways because I'm so hip and cool) but they do a good job at hiding their rage. Potbelly's!! This location is situated pretty nicely. I love that the whole place can pretty much be seen through windows. Makes a somewhat small place look huge. Staff at Potbelly's are always quick and very friendly. They help you along in their process of making food as it runs slightly different then other sub places. Pro tip: if you want a shake, and believe me you do, order with your sandwich in the beginning. Get the Oreo. My go to is the wrek salad, I don't even know the last time I had anything else I like it that much. It's full of lots of veggies plus blue cheese, salami, turkey and I believe ham. Whatever, it is it's delicious and I recommend it. Sometimes I get a pickle too, it's just a dollar and it is fantastic. They slice it up for you to make it shareable.
