I went in for a slice about 1pm so I was still in that lunch time period. The slice was cheap about $2.50, but I knew I should of ran once I saw them pull the slice from the microwave and pull the cling wrap off. Then they place it in the oven for a couple of minutes. What this caused was a soggy crust that had the texture of crushed white bread. I ordered the family spacial that came with bread-sticks, 2 liter of soda, and a 18inch pizza. It arrived about 45 minutes later. The bread-sticks were moist and delicious with perfect amount of seasons that you could actually eat without sauce and be happy with but, the pizza cheese and toppings were halfway off the pizza and the box was soaked with grease (I've added pictures above.) until it was practically falling apart. I called and told them about my experience and she said she would make another pizza and bring it here to replace the messed up one and would give me a 100% discount if she seen it personally and deemed it bad too. I personally was not willing to wait another 30 - 45 minutes for another pizza since we have hungry children here. Also, I can go to most other pizza places or restaurants and have some sort of compensation without waiting for someone ells opinion. In the end I got a refund off the pizza and returned the pizza (Against the management wishes.) The way I see it, I'm the customer and if I deem it unreasonable than I should not have to go through the hassle and time of the manager seeing it. If you were to value customers than dropping an extra 5 dollar appetizer and taking their word for it would in turn be more profitable for you in the future with having a returning customer. Unless a customer repeatedly sends food back to get free stuff. This was not the case with me since this was my first order from there. I'm not going to order from here after this experience. I'm never going back to Potestas not because my pizza crust was burnt but because when I called to talk to them the young man who claimed he was the manager argued he cut it himself and that it was not burnt. And that his brother made the pizza. He got offended and hung up on me. I contacted grubhub and sent them the pictures. Got the BLT thin crust pizza, and the "Waukegan Appetizer Special" along with some sprite. BLT thin crust was pretty good. Not sure about Potesta's definition of thin crust, but it's really just a thinner crust that is still kinda doughy and bready. I generally assume that thin crust tends to mean a cracker thin, crunchy crust. Still good, just not what I thought. I got my pizza in good shape as well, no damage from being slid around or anything like that. The appetizer included five each of mozzarella sticks, breadsticks, and mini calzones. They're all pretty good, and while it's kind of strange, I definitely did get some older oil taste. The mozzarella stick breading tasted super meaty and savory. I like it, but greasy flavor doesn't always appeal to everyone. The supplied dipping marinara was fantastic; sweet, savory, but not overwhelmingly so. Prices are fair and the delivery time was fast. I would say 8 out of 10 times I would order, there was something either wrong with my order or they forgot something. Most of the time I would just let it go and move on. Remember I work at night and always get it delivered otherwise I would pick it up if I could. Which leads me to the girl that answers the phone. I don't know her name but before her, there was a guy who use to answer and he was the BEST. Very polite and was just great to talk to. I don't think I've ever talk to someone who was very customer friendly and was all about the customer first. Well lately he has not answered. Not sure if he still works there or what. But now this girl answers and she is a total douche-bag. Horrible manners and is NOT customer friendly. Argues with me every time there is a mistake with the order. She will not help you at all. The last time I ordered I got a cheeseburger and some mild wings. Well when I got them they poured hot sauce all over them and they were dripping wet and super hot. For anyone that would like an amazing pizza going experience...Potesta's in Zion on rt. 173 is not the place to go! I have never in my life experienced the lack of professionalism! The owners name is Julian and the fact he owns and runs a business baffles me! I politely informed him that his crew was rude and did not have the skills to run his restaurant as a friendly heads up,where upon he told me "why don't i go some where else". This is a ridiculous establishment and i advice anyone to avoid this place! Also couldn't help but notice the filth that resided in the kitchen area.
