I still feel that Potheads Coffee Company is one of the best kept secrets in Oxnard when it comes to who has some of the best breakfast sandwiches. Everyone knows of their sister business Smokin Jays but I am here to spread the word on their AM morning breakfast bites and coffee shop. The vibes here are always immaculate. Stepping inside they are always playing the best tunes (a little throwback Post Malone on the speakers at 9am to be exact) and a crew behind the counter that genuinely seems like best friends. The jokes and laughter flying around make this spot feel fun, welcoming, and real. The staffs positive attitudes are contagious, that's for sure. Now let's get into the good stuff....what did I order?: SAUSAGE & BACON BREAKFAST CROISSANT Low key one of the most slept on breakfast sandwiches in the 805. Candied bacon, juicy sausage patty, perfectly cooked egg, melty cheese on a warm buttery croissant. Absolute perfection. 10/10. GET THIS! Pro tip: grab the side of hash browns. The gooey cheese from the sandwich inevitably falls onto those crispy bites and suddenly you're in full food coma heaven. ICED MATCHA W/ STRAWBERRY COLD FOAM If you're a matcha lover, this one hits and it's a bit sweet (no complaints here). It's just good! They've got the brightest pink cold foam in the game, super refreshing, and just really well done. Is it ceremonial grade? I don't think so but sometimes a good matcha with fun foam is just what you needed regardless. WATERMELON MINT REFRESHER Not a coffee person? Their fruit refreshers are dangerously good. The watermelon mint is crisp, will cool you down, and super refreshing (hence the name). Tasty breakfast bites, solid drinks, and a badass crew. If you haven't pulled up to Potheads yet...what are you doing? Go check them out ASAP and if you take away one thing from this write up: get the breakfast sandwich!
Another weekend, another coffee review Potheads definitely did not disappoint! I loved the aesthetic right away--the place has this cool street-style vibe as soon as you walk in. It's actually a BBQ restaurant with a coffee shop inside, so you can grab food and amazing coffee at the same time. The staff was super friendly and greeted us right away, which I always appreciate. We love a welcoming spot Their menu had sooo many options it was hard to pick, so I asked for their recommendations. They suggested the Butter Beer Latte and the Cookie Ice Latte, so of course I grabbed both... and I couldn't leave without my favorite, a sugar-free vanilla oat latte. Every drink was flavorful and unique, but honestly my regular was AMAZING--so creamy and perfect. I'd go back just for that any day! And then... we saw they had beignets How could I say no?! 100/10. They were coated in this sweet glaze and wow... they hit different. I was so sad eating the last one because I wanted more lol. We also tried the banana pudding on the way out. I'm not usually a banana pudding fan, so it wasn't my favorite, but if you like banana desserts you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking them out for yourself!
GETTING HERE: Located on the corner of Wooley and C in Oxnard. ***Note: This is not a coffee truck; it's a stand alone store next to Smokin Jays (they are both inside one building that faces behind Wooley. Turn off C into the very small parking lot in the back). REVIEW: Oh, the wonder of social media! How did I find out about Potheads? Actually, the better question is, "How did I ever survive before Potheads?" I have been there a handful of times in just this this month and I MUST SLOW MY ROLL. But, the drinks are just so fun and so good! I don't drink coffee but have just begun to dip my toe into the world of Matcha. I don't know the ins and outs yet, haha, but Matcha now runs in my veins. Along with the dragon fruit cold foam. :) You can use a delivery service, or they offer mobile ordering too, which is very convenient. Just also note: they aren't able to post-make your drinks. Meaning, if you're going to pick it up at 11:15 AM, keep your order in your cart and then hit submit once you're on your way to the shop. Their egg bites are very good. I haven't had any breakfast sandwiches or their cinnamon rolls (!) but I plan to fix that asap. Service is fine enough. Busy, super busy, extremely busy every time I have gone in person, so I fully recommend the mobile ordering option. Give them a try! Enjoy! Thanks Potheads!
First time trying this place today, and I have to say -- the aesthetics are super dope! It's beautifully presented, really cute, and I love the variety of flavors, cold foams, syrups, and fun toppings. The drink itself tasted great and had awesome flavor. The only reason for 4 stars is that, as someone who's big on caffeine and lattes, this one was definitely more on the sweet side. It's fun and flavorful, but if you're looking for a strong "pick-me-up," this is not it. Overall though, it was tasty and totally worth a try! If you're in the mood for something sweet and delicious, absolutely go for it -- just don't expect a big caffeine kick.
The Bun Rolls Oxnard is now at Potheads on Fridays! The Oreo madness roll was sold out, so get there early if you're trying to get one. Instead we got the Golden roll "classic" Cookie butter roll. Both were full of cinnamon and cookie butter flavor with a very soft and chewy texture. It's prepackaged and not served warm, so we made sure to go home and heat it up and it paired great with a glass of milk but I recommend getting the coffee from Potheads but that's if you can stop yourself from finishing it before you get home!
Reasonable prices, super fast, and the maple bourbon iced latte was delicious, especially the sweet cream on top. I also liked how the gentleman let me taste it midway to assure it was sweet enough.

I have been wanting to try this coffee truck for weeks. Finally did and grabbed coffee for the entire family. It's a coffee truck , so no ambiance to describe here :) Good Service . We got the Americano w/ cookie butter, Cafe de olla w/ vanilla , caramel frap , iced brown sugar w/ oat milk and vanilla cold foam , Cold brew w/light ice added Boston cream pie cold foam , Strawberry frap and Chocolate frap. Overall, it was good but the cold brew was bitter .. unfortunately. The Strawberry and Chocolate frap lacked flavor. The service was amazing and quick despite the long line. I'd go back as they were swamped and I am not going to ding them super hard for it as some of the drinks weren't amazing. I think it was due to the fact that they were extremely busy.
Inside the Smokin' Jays location. Felt so fancy walking in when the server asked "will you be joining us for dinner this evening or just coffee?" They had an afternoon session today which I found on their Instagram, as a longtime patron of Jay's I always wanted to try the matcha. Stopped by for a flip it and reverse it with banana and ube cold foam. It was the most delicious drink I've ever had the privilege of enjoying, three great tastes that taste great together!! Could barely decide on just one and I will be back to try all the other variations. Matcha lovers you need to try this spot!
We've been here a few times and every time the coffee drinks have been so good!!! Their sausage and bacon sandwiches are delicious! It's our fav spot now! I definitely recommend to try it. The service is always friendly too. People who complain about it being all sugar should rethink what they are ordering like what kind of drink do you expect from ordering a pb&j coffee obviously it's going to be sweet... Anyways keep it up, we love it!
i've already been here for the barbecue once before which was amazing but today I got the peanut butter and jelly coffee, and it was freaking amazing the shipload's Starbucks and all those other stores out of the water. Everyone there is super nice and will be telling everyone I work with about this place.
They had a line when I first went in , but they moved it very fast . The decor inside is fun gives the place character, the food looked delicious a lady in line said the cookies and candied bacon was her favorite. Staff were friendly and kind. My drink was the caramel delight Girl Scout cookie inspired by, it was delicious and rich . I can't wait to be back
I placed two mobile orders for the Irish latte (comes with Lucky Charms on top) and a custom latte. When I got there I added two additional food items. The drinks were amazing with great flavor and good tasting coffee. The food was bomb and the service was fast and polite. I'll definitely come here again :)
Such a fun little Oxnard find! My daughters and I stopped by Pothead Coffee yesterday, and seriously--the whole place is a VIBE! Everything from the décor to the creativity matched the name perfectly. It was so cute, smelled AMAZING, and I had no idea they served food too! We came for the coffee, and it did NOT disappoint. I got the Cookie Butter and it was absolutely delicious. One of my daughters got an Horchata Café de Olla Latte, which was also SO good. I can't remember what my other daughter ordered, but all three drinks were a hit! Service was super quick, everyone was friendly, and can we talk about the fact that they have KOOL-AID ON TAP?! I loved all the fun little details. Hands down, yummy coffee, creative atmosphere, great service, and just an all-around cool spot. We will definitely be back--next time we're trying the food! I'm always looking for a place to work, study, have good coffee, and eat good food, and this spot definitely delivered on the overall experience! I came around 10am and went straight into coffee. I asked for a recommendation and got the Banana Bread Latte (7/10) and Watermelon Pepino (8/10). Both were pretty good! The owner was there and offered extra espresso, which was a nice touch. I also tried the Aerecano, a specialty drink unique to this location 100/10! PotHeads uses a unique espresso machine that's the only one of its kind in California, and it's clearly super dialed in, which is a dream if you're a coffee connoisseur! At 10:30, Smoking Jays BBQ opens. We tried the Spicy Nashville Chicken Sando and BBQ Loaded Fries -- phenomenal! They also have vegan and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is a millennial's dream: tons of pop culture references, good music, great merch, and lots of regulars. The staff knows people by name, which makes it feel really welcoming. Pros: There are outlets along the walls, so it's still a good option for working or studying. They also have a rewards program and plenty of food options. Cons: It's BUSY , so don't expect a quiet study environment. Wi-Fi also isn't posted. PotHeads Coffee and Smoking Jays BBQ are two separate businesses housed in the same location, so they have separate ordering counters. Potheads coffee is on a class of its own! Jay and the gang sure do know how to make killer bbq and coffee. The selection is massive there something for everyone! The breakfast food is top notch and never disappoints! Jay always makes me feel welcomed and the rest of the staff is nice and quick to deliver. Amazing coffee and very diet flexible! Many sugar free syrups and cold foam options. Workers are very nice. However not many places to sit down by yourself. I also got an iced matcha with almond milk and sugar free vanilla syrup, it came out out delicious. So many creative drinks to try from! Highly recommend read more

i got a matcha which was good, but the pink haired girl who's the cashier seemed super annoyed and like she didn't want to be there. honestly idk what she's still doing working there bc i've seen so many people say the same thing specially about her on insta, tiktok, and here. PLEASEEE get a new cashier it would make more people happier to go there. read more

I love the match here I get the matcha drink with the strawberry cold foam with fruity pebbles. It is so good and we met Jay the second time me and my boyfriend went and he was honestly the chillest and friendly person ever and the environment was good. I'm not sure why everyone saying the service is bad, it's never like that for me and whoever I go with. Everyone is very nice! read more

This was my first time here and I loved it! The workers were extremely nice and helped me pick a drink and gave me other recommendations. The coffee flavor was really good. They have many cold foam options, unique drinks, and different toppings. I am definitely coming back! read more
