The Gaithersburg location is a little different, with only counter service but there are tables for dine in--it hasn't been busy the last few times I've been here. Potomac Pizza has been around since the late '70s, and after their OG location in Potomac, they expanded to additional locations (Chevy Chase, College Park, Middle River, and Rockville). I've tried the Ultimate Potomac Pizza, which is a cheese and tomato pizza topped with anchovies, black olives, Canadian bacon, green peppers, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. Sizes come in 8", 12", or 16". Toppings could be more generous, and they could be distributed more evenly; also, not sure if the toppings are placed as an afterthought, but they could be cooked/baked more and be served piping hot. Since the nearest Potomac pizza shop to me is about 6 miles away, I called and asked if I could get a large pizza, and pay the difference. The manager said no. We went ahead and ordered the small pizza anyway. After spending a ridiculous amount of time in rush hour traffic to pick up this pizza, we were really disappointed. I was very impressed by Potomac Pizza. This place would absolutely be 5 stars but the organization/cleanliness can be improved. It wasn't enough to make me not want to eat there but it kept me from giving them 5 stars. The food was awesome! Definitely some of the best pizza and wings I've had. The small salad was large enough for two of us to share and the chipotle ranch was delicious. Definitely pretty pricey but I assumed that given the area and our current economy. I had a staff meeting today and pizza and salad were delivered. I had a slice of the white pizza which I thought was a bit chewy but the flavor was good. I also got the veggie pizza which had green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and broccoli. That pizza was too soft and overcooked to me. I think if the crust was thicker it would hold together better. The salad had cucumber, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes. I really liked the creamy ranch dressing that came with it. I would have it again, but explore other items on the menu. read more

I've been ordering here quite a few times and has almost become my de facto pizza place. I haven't stepped foot inside their restaurant yet, and I've only eat here through delivery. Their large pizza is quite large and you can have so so many toppings to choose from. I think moving forward maybe, I should prefer to order two smaller size pizzas, instead of a large pizza because of how sloppy the middle of the pie is. It's thin crust like NY style and if you don't order too many toppings, the pizza should hold up. I even asked them to cook well, thinking the bottom wouldn't be so wet. But almost every time I get my pizza, it's wet. Maybe I need to stop ordering pepperoni topping? Don't know how I can prevent this to happen next. They have a lot of food choices and should try their subs next. I do like their salads here though, especially their Cali chicken salad with lots of kale and chicken. read more

This is one of those places that gets 5 stars because it has been in the neighborhood forever and the staff sticks around for a long time. It's delivery pizza but a step above Dominos or Papa John's, which I've both worked at. The slice deal here is great because it includes 3 toppings so you can get pepperoni with extra pepperoni and extra cheese for a super filling slice. This location could use a makeover, but there's something about a neighborhood place being the same each and every time that just feels good. Oh and they have $2 beers on Thirsty Thursday which is all Im allowed to order anymore because I was diagnosed with celiac disease And am lactose intolerant. This place is nothing but amazing!!! Let me start this review by saying that I'm new to the area, my husband and I just moved from California. We found this place 3 weeks ago because we were checking out the area and being the pizza connoisseur that we are, we always love to try new spots. We called in the order and received really great customer service, the gentlemen that picked up was very polite, kind, and detailed with the menu which made it easy to decide what we wanted to get. We ordered 1 personal pizza that contained pepperoni, Italian sausage, pineapple, which was so flavorful and the perfect amount of cheese. We loved the taste of pepperoni and Italian sausage that was used and that pineapple was so good! The cheese one also was my favorite cheese pizza of all time, I loved the flavor of the cheese and sauce they use.
