Even though we purchased the most basic of cremation services at a price far more economical than most others in the area, we were provided with truly superior customer service, courtesy, efficiency, patience and true compassion during our difficult time. I cannot imagine it being done better at any price! The option to complete all forms online in advance was very helpful to us, and Kellen was extremely patient & helpful, even as we had various delays on our end. She kept working with us (answering our calls & emails promptly) until we got our act together enough to complete the simple online process. Even though we didn't purchase the options for family visitation or any other services, we were provided full support by phone, email and in any way we requested, including the OWNER meeting us at a time of our convenience at the funeral home to provide us with the ashes. Speaking of the owner, Tim, he gets his own 5-star rating! Our loved one passed in the wee hours of the morning, and I was anxious about the arrangements for picking her up (I needn't have been). I called their number in the middle of the night, received immediate answer from an incredibly courteous & kind person who took the info & assured me someone would call me back very shortly. Within minutes, the OWNER, TIM, called me and patiently answered my questions, assured me in my distress, and never let on that I had caused him to be awakened from sleep in the middle of the night. I never responded to them, so they took it upon themselves to pick father's body up w/o authorization or payment. The company I did hire, called the hospital to arrange pick up only to find out that he wasn't there! I was mortified! The hospital refused to give me any information on my father's where abouts. THEN Kellen from Harmans calls my son And leaves a message that my father was in their care. He was mortified because we discussed the arrangements. I called Kellan and she told me because she had phone number she was able do pick him up & she did me favor because after 3 days his body would go to the state crematory!!!Lies! The hospital and the company I chose confirmed that was a lie, as we had already had a plan in place. Both WVU Medicine & Harmans broke state laws! Neither of them will answer my calls and refuse to give an explanation as to how this happened! They won't respond to calls or emails.They wanted to secure that $ by picking him up! I even told them I'd like to discuss this matter & find resolution before leaving a review! They still failed to respond. No answer doesn't equate to removing someone's deceased loved one without a contract or authorization. Despicable! Do me a favor don't do me any favors! They refuse to return my father's body to the hospital or the correct funeral home! They made them come pick him up which was another 30 mins out of their way. Disgusting!

The cost was $500 just for the cremation, which through a non-emergency vet would be around $200. Because of the holiday I could not transport the body to a vet and so paid up. Then I was shown a folder of memorial urns and items I could buy. I was appalled. Grieving people do not make good choices, but usurious Agape thinks it can make more bucks by playing on our sorrow. But the real horror, after all that, was finding out my cat's cremains were being shipped through the post office--the cheapest way possible and so insulting. sending your pet home on a mail truck. I was able to get the cremains off the truck and to the vet, but for $500 I should have received Fed Ex kid glove treatment. I fault the vet clinic for using this greedy company. I have had other cats cremated and have never experienced such treatment. I just wonder if the ashes I get will be my cat's--some places take videos of their cremations, but I expect Agape has no proof the ashes are whose they say they are. Shame on them.

I cannot believe how lazy and uncaring this company is. Utterly heartbreaking experience. However, I don't want this issue happening to another family. Unfortunately a close family member of mine passed away recently and their funeral services were held by Resthaven. Upon arrival, my husband overheard the staff members (Jessica) saying they were "scrambling" to get things ready. Not something anyone wants to hear about their loved ones funeral. Next, my husband, brother and I went out to get some air and talk. Standing in a triangle in front of my vehicle and near the vehicle parked next to mine, the same staff member (Jessica) that made the "scrambling" comment, proceeded to walk out of the chapel, up to us, and ask us to "stand somewhere else because the Jeep was an employees vehicle and they were worried about it". I was quite sure how to take that. Are they calling us delinquents (my tattoos were visible)? That's why they were "worried". We all wore dress clothes, no one was leaning on their vehicle or standing too close. Mind you, my vehicle was parked next to theirs. Guess we can't stand near our own vehicles. That employee was also parked in the very front row. We're at a funeral, what could we possibly do to the vehicle? So not only were we publicly embarrassed, but we were there to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, not be humiliated and profiled. It was completely unprofessional and ridiculous to say that to a grieving family. There is a time and a place, and that's not it! I could understand if we did something wrong, but we're adults and we know better. The other problem that was embarrassing on Resthavens part, was the Funeral Memorial/Prayer cards. It wasn't until about an hour in that I noticed they were wrong. They did not put some of the requested pictures/information on them, and the "Footprints in the Sand" poem was incorrect. I brought it up to a gentleman at the "grief session" and he told me that the poem must have been a "different variation". They also got his death date wrong. I am so sad and unhappy with how everything unraveled. That is a day you can't get back or redo! The positive for the day was how absolutely WONDERFUL Mickey was! He was the only saving grace to bring the day back. He even apologized on behalf of Jessica. He truly did a great job.

I live out of state and he helped me every step of the way until I was able to finally meet with him right before the funeral. My biggest wish was for her to be buried next to a tree. Gabriel took us to see the lot, and she was to be buried next to a willow tree which happens to be my mom's favorite. It was just perfect.
