When you do buy something they are SO friendly but also push more on you. If you don't buy something they are so rude! During my recent visit to Red Bank, I was wandering around the area off the main drag at Broad Street and this store front caught my eye. It is hard to say what fires one's brain sometimes. I love all types of shops, but when I see a bright, light drenched shop with lots of white and wood, something just fires up my interest. You can see photos of the shop on their site (https://www.shopatforge.com/) to get a sense of what I mean. The store caught my eye and I had to check it out! Inside is a spacious shop with shelves to the left and right and a large island in the middle with all sorts of curated gifts laid out on tables. There are descriptions on every item, which is great because sometimes you see things at these shops and it's hard to tell just what you're looking at. Other times there are items that you just latch onto. There were all sorts of items ranging from soaps, to shampoos, to kitchen ware to an Astrology journal. The common theme was that everything felt elegant and worthy of adding to your home or being a gift. No surprise, as the owner carefully curates everything herself. I wound up picking up a "bag in a bag", a collapsible bag that can fit inside your coat pocket or a side bag. I also picked up some nice hand soaps from Japan. I was told that during my visit the stock in the store was relatively low after the holidays, so I look forward to going back when the shelves and table are more filled with lovely products. Forge is a beautiful shop with a very cool owner and is worth a visit, check it out!

WOW! Over the years I have gotten several pieces of furniture for THE STORE and they have a very…read morenice selection. The major downside to The Store is some of the staff are not very nice and the owner is disagreeable. Some of the staff is great just to be fair. They made a minor mistake on a delivery, which was no big deal...BUT when i stopped by to get the problem rectified the owner gave me every excuse why the mistake happened as apposed to just saying, "Sorry for the inconvenience". All the random BS she gave me was so irrelevant and just made the situation worse. The conversation snowballed into her getting defensive and following me out of the store and into the parking lot. I'm NOT kidding!!! She preceded to bring another couple (that was getting into their car after shopping at The Store) into situation. The couple and I shook our heads and got into our cars and drove off. I'm sorry that I will not purchase furniture form them again...I just moved and have a lot to buy. After weeks of working with one of their sales people, I dared to ask for a sketch of what my $3,000 drapes would look like after realizing I was under a misconception. I also got stuck paying separately for the measure and learned the same would hold true for the installation. Information NOT told to me! So $3,000 does not include the measurements to properly create the drapes nor install. Lastly, I expressed the desire to move forward ASAP in the hopes the drapes could be hung before Christmas. Truly outrageous of me. Apparently. I now have measurements that are useless to me because why would anyone in their right mind rely on someone else's information other than their own to create these drapes! I requested a refund since THEY have decided not to move forward and I received my $75 measurements instead. Let me say that I am not a difficult person and as I worked through numerous fabric choices I kept thanking the woman for her patience and this is what I got in return. I would never recommend this store to anyone. Stay away.

Her assistant kindly explained that the next available appointment would be August 12th (over a month away). Now I get it they are busy but to wait a month for a consultation is a bit much. Oh yeah did i mention there is also a $75 consulting fee just to walk into the place. Best part of the story, after waiting for a month to see this lady her "assistant" called me the day before saying that she will be sick tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
