We purchased a custom Big Sur Square Arm Leather Right Arm Sofa with Wide Chaise Sectional in Statesville Molasses leather just over a year ago. We chose Pottery Barn because we believed we were investing in superior materials, craftsmanship, and long-term durability. Within the first year, the leather began showing significant and uneven surface deterioration -- most noticeably on the chaise section. The finish has visibly lightened and broken down in irregular patches (see attached photos). This goes beyond normal aging or the typical patina leather develops over time; it appears to be premature surface breakdown. The sofa has been used gently in a low-traffic home and maintained according to Pottery Barn's care guidelines. It remains structurally intact, but cosmetic durability is part of what customers expect when investing nearly $7,500 in a custom leather sectional. We did not purchase this piece expecting it to look visibly distressed within 12 months of normal use. We contacted Pottery Barn, submitted detailed photos, and requested assistance under warranty. No in-home inspection was conducted. The decision was based solely on the photos, and we were informed that this condition is considered "normal wear." Our case was then closed without any offer of repair, replacement, or partial reimbursement. We respectfully but firmly disagree with that conclusion. When visible finish breakdown after one year is categorized as "normal," it calls into question both the durability of the product and the company's willingness to stand behind it. For a purchase of this magnitude, we expected a more thorough evaluation process and meaningful support. Had Pottery Barn worked with us toward a fair resolution, we would have remained loyal customers. As it stands, this experience has significantly impacted our confidence in the brand, and we would be hesitant to shop with Pottery Barn again. We're sharing this so future buyers can better understand how durability expectations and "normal wear" may be interpreted. read more

I have no idea how Pottery Barn remains in business with it's extremely high prices. I received a diffuser for Christmas and brought it back in the hopes of exchanging it for something else because I already have diffusers at home. There were no employees in sight and I had to look for someone to be able to assist me. I then learned this diffuser costs $99 plus tax which almost gave me a heart attack. I can't believe my friend spent this much money on this! After looking around there wasn't much to choose from under a hundred bucks and I sure the heck wasn't going to add my own money for anything that's so expensive. Compared to other competitors in the area where really nice diffusers run between $20 to $45 this place has lost its mind. read more

She got the job done in getting me the items I was looking for. However she made another off handed remark at check out. Rated this one star only because there was no lower option! Absolute worst buying experience we have EVER had for over $15,000+ worth of furniture. Ordered items in early June and specifically chose items that they said were "In Stock and ready to ship" so we could enjoy them for the summer. First small piece arrived beginning of July. The remainder of items kept getting pushed out to late July, August, September and ultimately January 2026! A clear "bait and switch" sales process that I will also be reporting to the BBB! Ended up cancelling the remainder of our order. Order of 2 large couches came in damaged and had to be replaced - which took weeks. Constantly had to initiate phone calls (no one ever called us) with Pottery Barn and parent company Williams and Sanoma Customer Service personnel. Parent company customer service offered a % off our entire order as "an appeasement," but then reneged on this offer and only ended up giving us a % off one item. If you are buying items that ultimately have to come from the Pottery Barn California warehouse, DO NOT buy the product. Absolute worst systems and operational execution. We never write negative reviews of vendors, but this was sooo bad, we felt compelled to write so that we can hopefully prevent someone else from going through this same experience. Wow !!! What about bad company. We ordered a stroller almost 17 days ago and today, the delivery day, nothing!! We called to find out the status of our stroller and they don't know when will be delivered. We need that stroller because my new grandchild is about to born and we need it ato get out of the hospital. They don't care. The only response is, you have to wait 5 business days to find out when will be delivered. It's absurd, and they are charging the full price in our credit card!!! That's a robbery. We were in the market for a leather sectional. We went into this specific store 3 separate times and the first two times the sales associates did not give us the time of day... when you're spending $13k+ on a sectional, an associate should be able to answer all your questions and build what you need. That did not happen until the 3rd time we stopped in and met Sandy. This review is specifically for the customer service that was provided by Sandy. She was patient and answered all of our questions even when the store was busy and we were running after our two year old toddler. I had a terrible experience with PB, and will not go into their store again. I ordered a $2000 chandelier online on the evening of December 7, 2024. According to the website and my email receipt the the lamp would not be delivered until mid January 2025 (about Jan 11). I decided that it would not work for me and called their customer service to cancel it the next morning. I was told by the customer service agent that the order would be cancelled and to expect notification within a week. Instead of cancellation, I received a bill for the order. I have called customer service now four times, and half the agents have told me the order would be cancelled and the other half that it could not be cancelled. Apparently, although the lamp was not built yet (or clearly shipped), it could not be cancelled. Instead I would need to receive it sometime in about a month, and then have it returned. The shipping is about $260 each way, so I am out over $500 for an item I could not return, and that had not even been built (or shipped) when I called to cancel. I was told by the last agent that when I receive the item I may call them back to 'negotiate' some of the shipping costs. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told none was available, and that they would call me back (which of course they did not). As of January 2 (20 days after my attempted cancellation) I have not received the item yet, and have not been notified that it is shipped. Surprise! I have a $2500+ bill on Capital One/Pottery Barn credit card that I must pay by January 5. With this level of service, I have little confidence that I will actually receive a refund for the item after returning it in its unopened box. I will never shop Pottery Barn again, and am considering other recourse. Suggestions? read more

New to the area. Sold my PB couch, rug, coffee table and desk with the sale of my home. I'm a big PB lover and was excited to get started. Walked in on a Sunday ready to buy. Wandered around for about 5 minutes. Ignored. 10 minutes. Ignored. They said 4 people were working the floor. I couldn't find anyone to help me at all. Wandered around for another 5 minutes...still ignored. Hmmmm.... Not even a "sorry we are short handed today we will be right with you" more like exasperated that I'm patiently waiting and asked if there was anyone available (very nicely) to help. I couldn't leave the parking lot without taking the time to write this review. I have been shopping at this location for a year now. Every time I enter the store I hope it's going to be a better experience than the last since it's usually never a good experience. They did not let me down with bad service yet again ! I'm not sure if they have a contest on who can be the rudest when a costumer enters but we have some top contenders for the winner! I have spent thousands of dollars at this store and yet I was treated as if I'm inconveniencing the staff! If I had endless amounts of money I would buy everything I am kinda obsessed with this pace . I'm not giving this review for this particular store just for Pottery Barn in general. Their customer service has gone downhill tremendously. They do not care one iota about their customers. I recently experienced the worst customer service via phone convos numerous times for an item I ordered on June 5 2021 and it is now Sept 13, 2021. I never received an explanation until today about why my item never shipped. No one would give me answers. No one gave a crap. They promised me they'd reach out to me w answers and it never happened. I've been waiting and dangling by a thread for some information. Anything! Today a customer service rep finally tried his hardest only to find out that it was shipped in august and UPS lost it, so they say, and it is now out of stock so I will not get my item after waiting 3 1/2 months for it. How disappointing. This isn't the first time I have had trouble with Pottery Barn. If I could go into the store to buy things I would but they do not carry hardly anything in store any more. Y'all....customer service here is a ZERO! I was shopping for about 20 min with no greeting and there were only about 5 customers in the store with 3 workers. I drove 30 minutes to get here with my baby and I was about to drop 2K on nightstands. I was finally asked if I needed help and as I was responding saying that I do actually have some questions I got totally ignored and he kept on walking. Pretty disappointing. I went up to the counter and all 3 workers were there helping two customers but I was standing there I felt like I was bothering them. He said in a very rude tone "I will be right with you". I walked right out. Put a bad taste in my mouth...never coming here again that's for sure! read more

Don't know the reason for the really poor review average. It's a really pretty store with traditional and transitional style American furniture, all relatively high end, and on trend. It's located near Boca Park in a shopping mall that also has PF Chang's, Ann Taylor, and similar. It's always really fun to window shop here. You can feel yourself transported by the very well-designed setups. It's like snooping in someone's house, a someone with very high standards for style and organization. You won't find a Miro poster here, or anything too quirky. It's standard, but it does this well. You can also find really nice presents here, such as for family, coworkers, or pals. Especially at Christmas! Sparkly, tinkly, silvery, Christmasy, cutesy but classy trinkets abound. But there are downsides. The price is a bit out of step with the quality. The quality is good, don't get me wrong. But they price it as though the quality were "amazing." So, not quite right. I don't mind paying for high quality furniture, or antique, but there is still a chance here that what you buy won't last until your children grow up. (Note that there is a children's section for furniture, as well.) Also, the service is really uneven. Sometimes you come in and feel that you are on top of the world; the staff treats you like you are a new Duchess. Other times, you feel as though you are invisible or a nuisance. I also TWICE tried to have a Pottery Barn employee help with decorating my home, which they claim they provide as a service, but they don't really follow up on this, and when I finally got someone over he was a bit unhelpful, and didn't help us order a table that we liked...even though we were like, "Take our money!" So...there's that. But this is fun to step inside and look around. read more

A couple of weeks ago, I went into the Pottery Barn Rampart Commons to view the floor model of a nighstand I was contemplating ordering. The design consultant who helped me, Christine, was quite lovely; she was very helpful and accommodating, even unwrapped the nightstand floor model for me to see because it had been sold. I felt the nightstands would work well for my needs, so I ordered two of them through Christine to be delivered to the store (that saved me a few hundred dollars in shipping fees & I thought, "Why not?"). Notice I gave them 1 star despite Christine's wonderful service. Here's "WHY NOT": I picked up the nightstands Wednesday evening (7/19/23). When I got home, I unboxed them, and took the first one upstairs. It was perfect! When I picked up the second one (yes, I took them up a flight of 17 stairs by myself), the hardware started falling off. Ultimately, four washers and 2 screws fell off. So, the next morning, I took it back downstairs (by myself) and back to the Pottery Barn. I spoke with Sergio who told me he would try to repair it for me. He called me later that day to say he had fixed it, and it was perfect. So today, 7/23/23, I went to pick it up. And I had the distinct displeasure of meeting John. John, it turns out, is a manager, and I've never met someone so non-customer service oriented in my entire life. When I first entered the store, he was standing there so I told him I was there to pick up a nightstand. I then mentioned that I wasn't necessarily comfortable taking home the same nightstand. What assurances do I have that's it's really "fixed"? What if it starts falling apart again? Who is Sergio that "fixed" it and does he really have the qualifications to do so? John said he fixes things, too, and the nightstand looked fine as far as he could tell. I asked if I had to accept that nightstand since I was uncertain about its being repaired; he again said it was fine but he would order a new one if I wanted. Truthfully, I wanted a new one but here's the "why not": Being a woman, I thought of how long it took just to get the thing out of the box & interior packaging (25 minutes per nightstand, and Vegas is 102° at 9pm; I had sweat rolling down my back! LOL) and that wasn't appealing. And then I thought of getting the new one w/ the same problem w/ hardware falling off; lugging it up and down the stairs with washers and screws dropping. So I opted to accept the "fixed" nightstand, and I asked John if there could be any price consideration for the major inconvenience I had incurred, and he said no. The nightstand was good condition. I pointed out that when Anthony initially gave it to me, it was NOT in good condition; it was falling apart. I'd lugged it up and down the stairs by myself; I figured I've done enough of that. To which he responded, "You chose to have it delivered to the store to avoid shipping." Then I asked if, given the inconvenience, he could have it delivered. He said, "We're not a delivery service. If you had paid for delivery or white glove service, they would come get it. I can't do that." Now, I DO understand that; however, given that Vegas is under an extreme heat warning AND that I thought my lugging should have been only one-way (upstairs), I felt some empathy and financial remuneration was due. John, jerk that he is, was in no way seeing it from my perspective as the inconvenienced customer. And please know, I sincerely disliked him for being that mean and inconsiderate. I even asked if this is how Pottery Barn corporate mandates that they treat their customers. The thing is: I purchased a couple of armless chairs and an ottoman over the July 4th weekend which I had shipped, and I paid the oversized surcharge plus the shipping fee; I was planning to order an Allen c-table as well as a Hayworth leather banquette. With John's treatment of me, those items are seriously in question. Since he's so rude and unthoughtful, he's lost a customer. I'm sincerely disappointed at being treated so callously, and as if my inconvenience didn't matter. read more

I will never shop here again. I have been a regular customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars on both couches and furniture. Today I came in to return a pillow cushion cover that I bought over a month ago with the receipt. The clerk I believe was a tall man named Jeff could not figure out to how to refund the amount or issue a store credit. After explaining to me that I must've tore off the bottom of the receipt which held much important data , why would anyone do that? He requested that I go to the car and get my drivers license for verification, even with that he still could not refund the item eventually he offered a gift card for future store credit for a lower price. We are taking about a $3.00 difference only so it is not the money but the way He handled the whole situation. I told him I would never shop there again and I mean it. read more

Returned an online purchase to the store and was told we'd receive an email with store/online credit. It never arrived. We've been around and around with management and customer service to get our refund. Pottery Barn has our merchandise and money and after a week, we still don't have what they owe us. Was told today it will now take 3 weeks to issue a credit for our purchase of $250. In total, this will be a month to wait for a refund for an item we returned using a gift card. Their customer service used to be impeccable. Walmart has better customer service than Pottery Barn. What a ridiculous situation and a shame Pottery Barn has gone down hill. Beware of online purchases. The product was substandard and their handling of the situation horrible. Waiting for our $250 refund now. Do better Pottery Barn!!! Unfortunately I'm giving two stars simply for the repeated poor customer service of a woman named Ann (or Erin??) Koll (name might be a little off). The first time I came to this store, I was looking for comforter that I had seen in another store about a month earlier. She didn't greet me, or ask if I needed assistance, but I approached her and described the comforter, to which she replied "I don't know what you're talking about, but if we have it, it'll be over there. We don't do charge sends so you're on your own if we don't have it". Yikes. Okay. Ended up at the district the next day, and the womenn were all so incredibly nice. They helped me look, and then when they didn't have the item, looked it up in the system to get the sku, and stores that had it, then printed it out for me in case I wanted to order from those stores. I live a lot closer to this Rampart location, and have since been in a couple more times, including yesterday. Every time, the same woman - Ann (or Erin??) (longer brown hair, maybe 40s) is there and zero help whatsoever. Yesterday I walked in, she and a taller gentleman (another employee) were standing right in front chit chatting about his boyfriend. Both looked at me, didn't say a word, and then went back to chatting. I had enough at that point, and discretely approached another associate to ask what the woman's name was that doesn't seem to like to do her job, to which the associate replied "Her name is Anne, and to be hoenst, we've had a good handfull of people complain about her, so I would advise management". Why does she still work here? On a side note, the manager (name starts with an S, I believe!) was so incredibly nice when he helped me - Great customer service! And same goes for Linda - super nice and knowledgeable! Thank goodness for these two. read more

If I could give zero stars I would!!!!!!! I ordered a couch on the memorial day sale. I figured it would take a month or so. I've now waited a month since the date of order and was just told it's ready but I cannot get it until MID AUGUST!!!!! It has to go sit in a wharehouse for a month and a half! Meanwhile I've already moved into my place and have to sit on the floor because I do not have any couch! NONE of this was explained to me when I purchased the couch or I would have gone elsewhere. The customer service has been zero they plain do not care. The WORST part is it was rang as a cash sale on my Pottery Barn card and I now have to pay for a couch I've yet to even see for well over a month!!!!! Just left this location wanted to buy a full set for my new bedroom so you know it was going to be about 600.00 + when I went to the back to look at what they had the woman working there did not even acknowledge us . After walking around looking for about 10 minutes she decided to ask if we needed help. I said yes and asked about the comforters and duvet situations. She was the most condescending rudest retail person I have ever ran into. Needless to say I bought nothing and left. I love their furniture and the people at this location totally sold me on a couch. I ordered the couch I wanted, which was very expensive, but I was willing to pay because it's what I wanted. By three years the cushions were totally junk. When I contacted them they said there was nothing they could do. For the amount I paid I would expect my couch to last longer than three years. I don't mind paying if I get quality but that is not what you get when you buy their furniture. And once the sale is complete there is no more customer service. read more

I'm torn between leaving two and three stars, because despite the horrendous customer service I experience here almost consistently, I do shop here quite often because the product is always in stock. I spoke on the phone with Susan, I called to ask if a specific product was in stock at the store, I did not have sku on hand I just explained the product to her, (and it was a specific product so there were not similar items). She then seemed to get upset with me and asked me if I wanted to her to go look, I said yes because that was the reason I was calling. She put me on hold, and when she picked up, told me they had one of them in stock, and when I asked to confirm the size of the product she said she didn't know, she didn't have the box and she would have to look it up online as she huffed on the phone. Her customer service is horrible, and it has been the several times I've spoken with her. I was able to go in the store later that evening and low and behold they had MULTIPLE sizes of the product I was asking about in the box! It took two seconds for the man helping me to walk in the back and find me both of what I was looking for. There seems to be a gap in the service provided in comparison to the product and location. If you need to go to Pottery Barn maybe consider driving out of your way for better customer service. read more

First off this is a review for Pottery Barn in general - not necessarily this exact store. I registered at Pottery Barn for my wedding and have been nothing but disappointed in them. I received a gift from my registry in the mail that was defected. I went into the store to "exchange" it for a brand new one that was not defected and rusted. The person who bought it received 25% off the item. When I went in to exchange it not only did they tell me it would take 14 business day for my credit to arrive in the mail they told me I could not get the 25% off and I would need to pay full price or whatever the promotion was at that time. This is awful customer service. An even exchange for the exact same item should be the same price - especially considering it was Pottery Barns fault that they sent me a defected product. I'm am very sad to say I will be pulling my registry as this is not the service I expect from a company like this. I love their products but this is unacceptable. read more

We just moved into our house and I ordered several pieces of furniture such as a sofa and several chairs. All were upholstered pieces and of course came with stipulations that they were custom and non-returnable. Nevertheless, I proceeded having ordered from PB in the past, recognizing the above average quality of their furniture. Sadly, I agree with the reviewers, it took three and a half to four months to receive order- not six to ten weeks. I was shocked that having been in business for as long as they have, that this is an " issue " with such an established store. On one order, I was told their " vendor" did not even begin production of the chair until a month after it was ordered! Yikes! After several phone calls they were willing to reimburse me for the shipping fees. That was cool as the shipping fees are significant. The sofa arrived, the NY slipcovered , and it is of very good quality. Very good looking- just be prepared to wait awhile. Try not to let it steal your joy.
