Nobody's perfect,…read moreespecially me" (Sheryl Crow) We were treated in a perfect, professional, friendly and very respectful manner by Geoffrey and Debbie when we brought in an old mahogany pedestal table for them to sell on consignment. Our table certainly isn't a fine antique, but unlike the way we were treated in a similar furniture store and a lamp store trying to sell other items, we were so impressed by the way we were treated here. Geoffrey has the bedside manner of an old country doctor, he was just fantastic the way he examined the table, pointed out various features to us, questioned us on its history, and gave us his assesment of the expected value. It was like being inside an episode of the Antiques Roadshow. He explained the consignment process to us and while we were walking around admiring everything in the store, Debbie had drawn up a contract and explained every step of the way to us. When the table sells, we split the proceeds 50/50 with Perfect Piece and that's fine with us. We were given a website and consignor number so we can check in on the sales status of the table. Regardless of how this transaction ends up, we had a FIVE STAR experience.

All was typical for most of my time browsing, sales rep says hello and introduces themselves and lets us know when we need assistance, all fine. When it came time to purchase and I had made my decision of which furniture to buy ($300 recliner, loveseat, and a chaise), I realized there was not a package deal for the loveseat and chaise in that particular style, only for the sofa and chaise ($999). If I were to purchase a la carte for the loveseat and chaise, they would have been $499 each ($998 total). I asked the sales representative, George if there was anything that could be done to create a package for the loveseat and chaise where I would not be paying the same price as the sofa (it didn't make much sense to me to pay the same price for approx 26in less couch). George and another associate said they probably wouldn't be able to get a package deal for it and all was as is, which is fine, I've worked in sales I know how it goes. They called manager Matteo over to see if something could be worked out. I want to first say, George and the other associate were great, friendly, and helpful and this review is not about them. Matteo, however, was the epitome of a sleezeball salesman in my opinion. While he confirmed there was not a way to create a new package, he gave me some ridiculous excuse for the price stating I was paying for craftsmanship and not material so the difference in size of the couch was a moot point. I disagreed and stated that I was going to shop around and see what else was available in the area. After saying this, Matteo proceeded to make the comment that I would come back to Bob's nonetheless because they have the best prices in the area. This struck me as very arrogant and condescending, and thus I DID take my business elsewhere and made a large purchase at a competitor. While there was nothing wrong with the product, I do not want to give my business to a business that speaks to their customers in such a way.

World Market is such a beautiful store. There are isles of international cookies, chocolate and other goods. There's also beautiful furniture, pillows and kitchen items. I personally wouldn't invest in a couch from World Market because it's typically very expensive, and you can find similar items at other retailers. But they have unique accent chairs and small attractive furniture items. My favorite thing to get here, in addition to the chocolate, are the Christmas ornaments. They are so, so beautiful, and so unique. There is so much detail in each one. Now that it's after Christmas, they are all 50% off, making each one around $2.50 - $4.00. If you have a World Market in your area, I'd encourage you go and check them out. While some items are more expensive, the unique items, hard to find items and the nostalgic items are what it's worth stopping for.

We purchased items from them before (floor lamp, coffee table, outdoor furniture) and were very satisfied. The store is beautiful and very easy to browse through. Joe and Mary are helpful and knowledgeable and put no pressure on you. Mary even encourages you to take fabric samples home before committing to a purchase. Joe and his colleague delivered our sofa and took away our old one. We have many narrow doors and stairs to negotiate and they did the job so carefully and with such patience.
