Wow all these other reviews are spot on. I bought a $250 blanket that started to shred apart after 1 1/2 years. Same thing happened to 2 of my friends blankets. My friends went to their Valencia store and they received a brand new blanket to replace the damaged one that they had for 3 years. I would think a, $250 blanket should last more than 1 1/2 years. The TO store manager said we will not replace or help you with your blanket. They told me to go to the Valencia store and have them help me. Really...I live in TO not Valencia. Why will one store do it and the other won't. I believe it is all about bad attitudes and poor customer service. I guess they don't care about repeat business. I will never go back there and I have bought and spent a lot of money at the TO store. Worst customer service and extremely rude management and sales people. read more

The worst customer service EVER I'm referring to the phone I have spent 4 1:2 hours on the phone with so called customer service people. They are poorly trained have no real idea of what is going on. I know more ! I purchased a Raleigh Bed in June it took longer then it should and when it got here ,wrong style , wrong color and had nail heads which I said I didn't want. 4 months later I received my bed so excited until the mattress did not fit the bed. The mattress was purchased also from PB. I went on line checked the dimensions Again and the bed was off by several inches length and width. I called customer service 3 times trying to explain then I sent detailed photos with a tape measure next to bed. I waited forever to hear from someone, called again and again to tell my story. Finally the answer was do you want us to come get it. !!! No I had sold my d bed !!! I wanted them to make a new one. We don't have fabric was the answer I got. Absurd !! Now it is November and through great research I have found that the company that makes the beds is closed all P.O. are being sent who knows at this point I don't care. The service people should have been honest about this instead of me going through this for 6 months. Beware of buying furniture from PB By the way I purchased a new bed from RH yesterday I will have in 2 weeks the same day Pottery Barn is picking up their bed. If I can give it this location no stars I would. My mom was so excited to take me furniture shopping for my new apartment. As soon as we got there we were not greeted nor did anyone check up on us. I fell in love with items in the store that I ended up purchasing but the staff made the experience awful. Robin including the rest of the staff were not helpful and had dry attitudes throughout the entire experience. Our plan was to shop for several items but due to the horrible customer service we endured we cut our shopping short. Moving forward we will not be shopping at this location. read more

We bought the FAUX POTTED FIDDLE LEAF TREE online. It was on BACK ORDER. We received it 6 months later. Product did not look good. We could not put in our commercial salon. Called online # to return. Since 6 months had past (not our fault due to back order) - they would not return due to 30 day return policy (regardless of whether you received a back order item or not). This is not a good policy for customers they would like to keep long term. Pottery Barn should learn that their target market is typically higher end customers that expect 'fair' return policies should they expect them to return. We have purchase MANY items from them throughout the years. We will not support this store now or anytime in the future. read more

If there were a way to give zero stars, I would. I placed an online order. MISTAKE. I read tons of negative reviews about customer service and terrible issues with delivery. Bottom line: They don't care about customers. My furniture was supposed to be delivered on November 26. I talked to two different people on November 25 who confirmed. So we moved all the old furniture to the garage (tons of work.) Furniture didn't arrive, but we were having company for Thanksgiving, so we had to move all the old stuff back in (tons more work.) When I called to find out what was going on (probably call #7!!) I was told that all the dates were estimated (which is ridiculous because two people told me the dates were confirmed.) And then I was told that even though the dates were estimated, it usually took longer. Why oh why can't they communicate accurate information? Each person I talked to had a different story! I don't mind waiting. I mind being lied to, and doing a ton of extra work because of it. I ordered furniture from Pottery Barn several years ago and had no problems. But something at the company must have changed since then. Never again. read more

I shopped at Pottery Barn today and had the most amazing sales lady. Marie, was patient and so helpful. I had my 2 babies with me, my son was making a mess of the store and my daughter was crying, but I really wanted to buy these Thanksgiving plates I loved. Marie not only helped me entertain my son and calm down my baby but she also found the rest of the set of plates at another store to have shipped to me. I give her 5 stars! read more

Poor quality merchandise and poor customer service. We purchased outdoor furniture 1 1/2 years ago and the table and chairs are now splitting and the furnish is completely off. PB basically said that is normal - never in my life have I seen such poor quality in a product that we spent a considerable amuont of money on. They asked if it was in the sun - well um yes it is a outdoor table and chairs??? Basically the end result from the store and the 800 Customer Service was "There is nothing we can do, you can try to refinish using the PB stain" - However NO ONE knows where or how to obtain such stain. This has been going on for months now. I have called multiple times to store and 800 number and basically get the run around. Once they get you to purchase merchandise they drop you like a hot potato. read more

Purchased 2 rugs for a total of $2000. After 2 months one of the rugs showed a small defect. I called the store 2 times to inquire about warranty and was told the manager would call me back. I bought 2 media towers it took three months for them to show up I had to deal with that. Well I paid for white glove delivery service over $250 on $1000 item. When the crew showed up they were not happy they had to walk upstairs to deliver the product. Finally I told them to do it or leave when they carry the stuff upstairs they bang up the walls in six different places my place is brand new I did not want to go repaint everything matching paint is a pain. I decided to file a complaint with Pottery Barn and they sold for $235 to repaint my walls myself or hire somebody to do it. One week later the crew that came to deliver my stuff covered in gang tattoos showed up at my residence wanting revenge on me filing a complaint? I had to call Pottery Barn three times in order to get somebody to respond back like they did anything wrong. I would think twice about ordering any furniture that has to be delivered from the buyer beware yeah they have good quality stuff but no way to pick it up. Good luck read more

So I went into Pottery Barn at The Oaks today with my twins. I asked if they had window treatments and was directed to the wall of draperies. This was not the problem. It was everything that followed...The sales associate directed another associate to assist me and by the look on this woman's face...I was fine helping myself. Anyway, she comes over and asks me begrudgingly if I needed any help? Before I could answer her she starts walking away as I am speaking. Extremely dismissive. POOR THING had no idea that we just purchased a 6000 square foot home that needs to be furnished....granted I was extremely casual and she probably didn't think I could purchase anything. But, that should never matter. Oh well, I will get my furnishings at Restoration Hardware. I hope management reads the reviews here. If the poor service continues this store WILL close. They definitely need to rid themselves of this sales person who will be the main reason why customers will not patronize this business. My husband and I were interested in a sofa we saw online and went to the Thousands Oaks store to see one. We walked in to a sales associate on her cell phone, she never looked up. As we walked in, we encountered another sales person, I said, "hi, do you have a Carlisle sofa on the floor?", she said, "no", and walked away. My husband and I looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Back at the front the store, we looked at another sofa without a tag. I asked cell phone lady what style it was and the price. She said they just got it in and would have to check. Then her cell phone rang and she turned her back to us and took the call. We walked out. I get 2-3 Pottery Barn e-mails daily begging for our business but this particular store wouldn't give us the time of day. We will purchase our furniture somewhere else. read more

Only to be greeted by snobby staff who when we specified our budget said we should be shopping at target.... the store assistant, who was probably was the manager, wasn't helpful at all, only sarcastic, rude and snobby. I walked into this PB with my husband to return two identical items, one purchased in store in Santa Barbara, the other online. Olivia greeted me immediately with "do you have the paper work?" Then continued to be incredibly rude and condescending, started getting the cutters out so I could open the unopened box, which I indicated I hadn't even opened since I ordered two identical items and opened the first one and decided I didn't want to keep the pair of lamps. Very rude, condescending, angry, should not work with people. Luckily for me, Heather showed up and Olivia passed me on to Heather to finish. Heather was pleasant and helpful. I asked Heather if there was a customer survey questionnaire which is often attached to the receipt, Olivia just chuckled because, I suspect, she knew how rude she was to me. Instead of making a scene in the store and asking to speak to the manager, I left, made a telephone call to the store to talk to the manager who, unbeknownst to me while in store, was Heather. I don't frequent this store often, I live nearer to Santa Barbara and Kevin in SB is awesome. Just a suggestion to management, PB is on the pricier end of similar home stores and the clientele expect decent (good) service. If the ladies aren't happy working there, perhaps they should find other jobs say, on an assembly line, so they don't have to interact with people? I wish I had read this review before shopping. The experience with PB in Oaks Mall is totally unsatisfied. First, I have been given the wrong information - the price on the receipt does not match the price tag on the items. The staff corrected the price unhappily. Second, 2 or 3 out of 8 items I bought were not properly packed. Obviously, they are returned items. I can understand items being returned but can not understand why not properly cleaned and packed. An installation part was missed in one package. The store manager did the best she could - gave me the missing part and 10% additional discount on that particularly item (which is about $10). Of course, the manager also offered to return or exchange all the items if I like. But I do not want to uninstall the items from the wall and waste my time dealing with them. The poor service really does not match the $$$$ price range. read more
