When I let her know I'm looking to drop in & I have prior experience she tells me "oh we're more of a beginners class or membership kind of studio so we don't really have anything for you..." Another women mentions they have a class offering but realizes it was the wrong date. I glance around at the completely empty studio & then she says "The only other thing is I have a class I'm teaching in...7 minutes & it's completely empty so you could attend that & just do what you want..." Why would you not lead with that? She tells me it'll be $110. I pass because I'm not paying an exorbitant price if this is the service I can expect from them. "Sorry we didn't have something for you." Sounded like you had something perfect for me but didn't want me to stay, so what on Earth do you mean?

I have now been taking classes for over a year. The teachers are all superb and all superb in different and complementary ways. I think there's something for everyone here: from the all-thumbs hobbyist (me) to actual amazing artists (members) and everyone in between. While the teachers all practice and teach differently, they share the common feature of kindness and creativity. (Ps, this is the cleanest pottery studio I've ever seen--no clay dust issues here)

She was detailed with her directions and also demonstrated the steps well before having us jump in. She also told us reasonings behind what we were doing to make us understand the process. I chose to make a bowl while my bf did a small flower vase. The process was so calming and our instructor made it so easy to understand. Last week I felt the need to do something creative but with low stakes, and decided to indulge in a…read moreme date of paint-it-yourself pottery. The Color Me Mine in Beverly Hills was open on a Monday, and so I trekked out here to indulge my inner child. My *very* first job was at a Color Me Mine in Valencia in 2000, and it delights me that the franchises still look very much like they did back in the day. This location is clean and mostly well-equipped (they didn't have squeeze bottles for writing), and it was easy and straightforward to get started. The staff were friendly and helpful. I chose a cereal bowl (believe me, though, I was very tempted by the more whimsical ceramic pieces, such as the cat jar and the, uh, "beakers" :P ), and while I didn't originally have a design in mind, I was inspired by the tile wall to paint an ocean theme. I spent a few very pleasant hours glazing my bowl. I added a small ceramic boat and asked the staff (writing it in the notes on my slip) to glue it in the middle of the bowl. It turned out SO cute. And I will absolutely toot my own horn with the excellent glaze work :) Hehe

Upon picking up all of our items, they told me there was no need to check them to make sure they were all there. It's a good thing I did because they missed an item. They said they would look in the back and the lady at the front was very kind and apologized but the manager was rude and said she looked but hardly spent 5 minutes looking for the item. She offered a refund if they couldn't find it but said "these things happen", taking no accountability.

I went to Color Me Mine on a whim and ended up having such a good time. I didn't really know what I…read morewas doing at first but the staff made it super easy. They were really kind and explained everything without making me feel dumb or rushed. There are so many pieces to choose from and once I started painting I honestly got so into it. It felt really calming like I could just sit there and focus on something simple for a while. The space was clean, not chaotic, and just had a really nice energy. I could see this being a cute date idea or something fun to do with friends but I also liked going just by myself. I'll definitely be back.
