    Backfin Crab Dip
    Bernadette M.

Went for the first time Sunday for a date. The food was amazing and all for a very affordable price! The Crab Dip was addicting. The Big Bang Shrimp was busting with flavor. And the Bistro Burger was nothing I've ever tasted in a regular burger before with its bacon jam. (I added fried egg to my burger to make it more of a brunch special.) On top of great food, the service was just as equally awesome! Our waitress was sweet and down to earth. And we got to meet the owner too who seemed hard-working and humble, making sure we were good all the way up until the end. Will 1000% be back for a round 2 to try more of the menu.

My parents are very fond of the corner bistro for drinks and dinner. It's awesome this place is in town, which is unlike a lot of the other restaurants. I had a plain vodka Moscow mule, although they offer them with flavored vodka. I was a little hesitant to mix ginger beer with a flavor, but it was recommended by everyone I asked after I ordered. My mom has the cucumber mojito, which I sipped and loved! My dad tries a different beer almost every time we go in and is consistently impressed with the variety. For dinner, I had the Ultimate Turkey sandwich! Aside that I missed it had mayonnaise on it, I loved it! It's a little sweet and salty so a great combination. The fries were good. My mom snacked on the crab deviled eggs, which was the special. Seevixe was great! This was the first time I ate, but I've sat at the bar for drinks before.

So I was at the golf course on business on a Sunday when I caught a glance of the brunch menu at The Corner Bistro. Everything look pretty decent and the prices were very reasonable. So I left the club and went home to grab my family to take them to brunch. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the lovely weather and my wife and I sipped on a couple of mimosas. My kids had chicken tenders and fries while I ordered up a 6oz cheese burger topped with bacon and a fried egg. The food, drinks, the prices and scenery were on point. We loved it. Definitely a little diamond in the ruff sitting their in Hampton. BTW, they have this house sauce that I used fir dipping my fries. CRACK!!

When you think of Poquoson, you'd probably think of seafood and clam chowder. The corner Bistro is a gem of something different in Poquoson. With designer cocktails, and a decent craft beer selection, the dishes offered are eclectic and inspired offering some classic comfort food items and some more "artsy" dishes. Basically something for anyone here. I usually try the specials, or something from the menu that I haven't tied before, but I have to admit, their burger with the bacon jam is probably my favorite burger around. If I'm in the mood for a burger, that is the one that comes to mind first! On a last note, the last time I was in, I asked for their NY style Cheesecake to end the meal, and asked if I could get the bacon Jam on it, they were happy to oblige. OMG - Amazeballs, and the chef had to come out to see who requested such a decadent train wreck

Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Bisque (cup size serving). Loved it and will definitely order again!

Been here twice in the last week, and both times were great! Food was delicious and they have a good variety of beer offered. So far, I've tried the Shaolin Chicken Sandwich, fish tacos, Red Pepper Tomato Soup, and Chicken Salad Sandwich. All were great, and I highly recommend! The serving sizes are very generous here, so keep that in mind when ordering.

Thought the 4.5 stars would be safe. Fish tacos were bad. Burger seemed like it was unfrozen and thrown on the griddle.

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

I came with a girlfriend after a workout for a healthy-ish dinner. We came around 9:30/10 & probably left right before closing because we were yapping. Food took a while to come out - we ordered calamari & goat cheese for appetizers and two salads that we ended up boxing up as the appetizers were filling although they didn't look very appetizing. The grilled chicken salad I got to go ended up giving my partner bubble guts even though it went straight in the fridge when I got home & the fruit vinaigrette tasted very artificial, even plastic. We were sat at a booth & felt a little rushed. The servers started sweeping the floors loudly but it was ten til closing so they probably wanted to get us & the last couple tables out. If I were ever to come back maybe it would be for lunch or a Wednesday Wellington night but although the decoration is fun, I feel much more welcomed at the smaller Kempsville VB location.

This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

The tapas-style menu is creative and delicious, with dishes perfect for sharing with friends or savoring on your own. Many guests rave about standout bites like the fired-cracker shrimp, salmon bites, seafood egg rolls, and fresh sliders; as well as the menu pairs fabulously with the handcrafted cocktails. What really sets Pecola's apart is the ambience -- the decor feels upscale and stylish without being pretentious, and it's a perfect place for date nights, celebrations, or just catching up with friends.
