Schrodinger's Drink: both ordered and never made, simultaneously…read more Our waiter announced last call, took two drink orders, brought one drink, charged us for both, then refused to make the second because "he wants to go home". This was 8:33pm. He took the order. He rang it up. The drink existed on our bill but apparently not in this dimension. When we pointed this out, he held the line like an HOA president at an emergency meeting about fence height. This did not have stakes. I have never watched someone be so confidently wrong about something so profoundly stupid. A true masterclass in choosing your hill, dying on it, and somehow being proud of the whole thing.

Located on the second floor of City Center Bishop Ranch, Social-Affair is right next to the movie…read moretheater. The place was super lively and honestly pretty packed during my visit on a week night. The lounge itself is on the smaller side, but cozy. I like the concept, there are wire racks on the wall and each table has a little wooden game board on top (mine was Chinese checkers), such a cute touch and makes the place feel a bit more interactive. Their signature cocktail menu has a lot of options, but since it was our first time, we asked the bartender for a recommendation. He suggested "Meet Me In Pearis" since we wanted something vodka-based. The drink took about 10-15 minutes to come out, which felt a bit long, but it looked like he was the only one working, serving two big parties plus a few tables, so I get it. Service overall was still good and he was nice the whole time. For the drink... honestly, it didn't really wow me. Both the flavor and presentation were pretty underwhelming. It kind of tasted like a glass of sangria to me. I guess with "Artisanal" in the name, I was expecting something a little more unique or elevated. Overall, great location, nice vibes, and I like the interior concept. Service was solid too. Just wish the drink matched the same level. Probably wouldn't come back, but glad I got to check it off my list.

The people who run this place keep this place tidy and clean as evidenced by how quickly they cleared my glass and the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I missed the rock n' roll memo, but amazingly talented singers including the KJ himself. The sound system can be pretty loud especially the bass, so ended up keeping my ear plugs in. My only major reservation is how the karaoke queue is managed. Couldn't help but notice the bartenders and some patrons who generously tipped got to sing multiple times in a row. One of the patrons tipped $20 and sang three songs in a row. In comparison, I got one song in in the span of three hours. I kind of expected the place to start clearing out after midnight but ppl stuck around and seemed to be having a good time. If you're not into rock n' roll/metal karaoke, they also have pool, shuffleboard, and darts. I do like the KJ and the patrons here, though in the future, I'll just set the expectation that I'll get one song in and set a curfew for myself.

We live in Pleasanton and have chosen to come out here because it was waay better than Regal ended up being after COVID. 3. Overall the movie theater rooms and staff in them are great. Now on to the ..GET IT TOGETHER please! The women's restrooms especially on the side where theater 10 is are just deplorable! The management turn over or whatever has made the LOT go down hill overall in the last couple of years is inexcusable. I think staff do the best they can but to have what was a 100% nice restaurant and theater turn into a leveled up dump especially when it comes to the restroom cleanliness is really terrible. We sat at the bar today and I looked down at the floor and it clearly has years of not being swept/cleaned. Staff is one issue but management should not be okay with cleanliness being less than basic.

We had no issue getting a table without a reservation. We each got a drink and shared some appetizers. One of my go to tiki bar drinks is the Painkiller (rum, pineapple, orange, coconut, cinnamon) and that didn't disappoint. A friend got their Zombie after our server's recommendation that said Zombie and Painkiller were their stronger drinks. The Zombie had rum, cachaca, oftd, lime juice, passion fruit, cinnamon, and falernum. He enjoyed that one. Our other friend got the Ohanapod Mai Tai - coconut rum, coruba rum, orange, lime, pineapple, topped with honey/lilikoi/egg white foam and said that was great a as well. The appetizers we tried were - Pupu Platter - comes with lil spam musibi, spring rolls, coconut shrimp, teriyaki beef skewers, pickled veggies, and a couple dipping sauces. The spam musubi and the skewers were really good. The veggie spring rolls were alright, and the coconut shrimp was good with the sauces. Kalua Pork Nachos - with kalua pork, crispy taro chips, cheese, lomi tomatoes, guacamole, picked jalapeño, cilantro cream sauce, etc. Loved how the chips were taro chips. Pretty good, and went well with our drinks.
