We came here for the first time a few weeks ago for dinner. We ordered the hot and honey salami pizza and I had a lemon drop . The pizza was hot and fresh and pretty good but the lemon drop was not good at all. Price is pretty decent for the quality of food. There's a lot of seating inside and outside. The restaurant should definitely clean from under the umbrellas on the patio area as there were a bunch of dead bug under there. I let an employee know and he did nothing so we moved tables. Second time coming back and Sal was our waiter. He provided great service and the food was good once again. Happy hour is between 3-5 but there's not many good options for happy hour . I had a lovely lunch today with my friend but it had nothing to do with the food. I ordered the pesto penne with artichokes and a side of shrimp to go on top. The pasta dish was so thick with overly salty pesto and I could hardly detect, let alone see, the artichokes. And the $10 for four small grilled shrimp that I ordered for my pasta came out on a tiny plate spaced out with nothing accompanying them. So weird. Why not put the shrimp on the dish I ordered? We asked our food to be put on separate checks which they were happy to accommodate yet when the food came out, they placed my pasta dish (sort of) in front of my friend and placed my friend's dish in the middle with the shrimp. At first I thought they forgot everything was separate but when we went to pay they did have it separated. My Sangria and pasta dish was $47. Not worth it at all even considering today's prices. This is a review of happy hour on a Monday. I was promptly greeted by the hostess and led to the bar area for happy hour that was 3pm-5pm. It was pretty much empty so we had very fast service. The bartender was friendly and really great. Delarosa has indoor and outdoor seating and it's a decent size seating area for being in a strip mall. That being said, all chairs they offer are quite uncomfortable. Whether you sitting on stools at the bar with no backing, the stools at a table with no backing, or the cheap feeling chairs with no padding at the tables. The happy hour drink menu is pretty limited. I can't say I was a fan of any of the drinks. I got the cauliflower with aioli. It was very salty and just not impressive. I also got the margarita pizza. I assume the happy hour pizza is smaller and for $8 it's a pretty good deal. The pizza tasted good and I would get that again. All in all: the customer service was great. Unfortunately it was super dry...so much dryness that I couldn't even really taste the fontina, and the crust was so hard that I found myself dipping it into the sauce that came with our fries to chase it down. I wished this could have tasted a bit richer. The spinach and artichoke pizza: Again, the super dry crust was pretty bland. The leftovers (doctored up with additional olive oil and spices) tasted much better than eating it fresh. The fries: these were the redeeming part of the meal. These shoestring fries had a generous amount of cracked black pepper and a decent amount of grated parmesan cheese. Our server was friendly enough, but when we asked questions, I got the feeling that we might have been annoying him. Perhaps this was an "off" night for them. The interior is pretty chic and I appreciate the cleanliness. When the weather is warmer, it looks like it could be a sweet al fresco dining spot. Very disappointing experience. We were initially seated at a table, then later asked to move to a shared table. When we politely asked why, the host was rude and dismissive, offering no clear explanation. The only reason we could think of was that the original table had been reserved, but that should have been handled before seating us there in the first place. What made it even more frustrating was seeing several empty tables around the restaurant. When we asked about them, the host simply said they were all reserved, with an attitude that made us feel like our concerns didn't matter. The host's behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, and the entire interaction left us feeling unwelcome. Hospitality is about making guests feel valued, and unfortunately that was not our experience. There are plenty of restaurants with good food and much better customer service. The selections though are carefully and imaginatively crafted which made me like Delarosa a little bit more. We were more than a dozen in our party. But we were properly accommodated with the long tables conducive for a family affair. Since the menu was limited, we practically ordered everything in the menu. Our server added that the food was for family style sharing. I highly doubt it: a 'sharable' pasta dish is a single order at Olive Garden. It would say sharable for two at the most. One of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time. My sister recently moved to San Ramon and suggested this spot so we could walk around and shop afterward. I wasn't too excited at first because I wanted Bamboo Sushi, which happened to be directly across from this place. I was outvoted and decided to go with it--I'm sure glad I did! Our server was amazing; she was personable and handled our party of seven graciously, all with a smile. For starters, we ordered two bruschetta appetizers and the crab arancini. Both were excellent--the dipping sauce for the crab made for a perfect match! For some reason, everyone ordered their own personal pizza. I, on the other hand, chose the grilled steak Spiedini skewers. That steak was delectable--melted in my mouth and cooked to perfection!
