We stopped by recently to check out the pop up Austin Powers bar before they shut it down in August. I saw it advertised on a reel on IG. Basically the Bar was converted into a Shagadelic experience featuring Food and bevies gearing homage to the International Man of Mystery. Definitely picked the hottest day in the East Bay too arrive before they opened. The Bar opened at 4pm, but we go here a tad bit early so he hung outside until they opened. The patio had a few tables we could sit under the shade, Once we were able to go inside the Bar, Israel greeted us and took our drink order right away. Wifey had the Spicey Rita and I got the S'more Danger bevies which had Brandy, and Cream with a Graham cracker rim and a toasted Marshmallow. We were amazed how much work they put in the decor by the way the Br was decorated. The food was not ready to order right out the gate, but we were busy looking around at all the decor around the sitting area. We were able to order food once the cook arrived and we had added a One Billion Dollar Burger, Fembot Deviled Eggs; and ordered some Brushette. All the food was good and the drinks were great. What was an added bonus is that they had a Pet Adoption demo with dogs going on outside, and we met a few pooches from the event inside the Bar. Definitely glad we got to experience this unique pop up and 2 Thumbs up to the "most Groovy" Bar; Yeah Baby!!

Being threatened to be "86'd" (just say banned/we don't want your money anymore lol, what a nerd terminology) unless I take down my review is crazy. Well guess it's not a threat when you actually get denied service Sad to see. Best of luck. Pleasanton deserves better Didn't realize it was that serious. Was just hoping for some decent service and to get over it like men :/. Guess that was too much to ask 35$ videos though

The Cellar Door located in downtown Pleasanton has joined the many bars that go all out with holiday themed cocktails and decor for the season. "The Christmas Story" themed bar was decked out with holiday cocktails named after the movie, an array of movie and Christmas decor, movie memorabilia displayed, and a Christmas Story playing on one of the tv screens. We arrived shortly after opening and it wasn't crowded, as the evening progressed more patrons arrived. We had to leave early due to a party starting at 6. We had enough time to enjoy our drinks and food. I would have liked to have stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance. Our server was kind and friendly, the drinks were delicious as well as the food. We had the deviled eggs, artichoke dip with cheesy crackers, chicken street tacos, and cheesecake. Everything was tasty and arrived hot and in a timely manner.

So good, I came twice in the same week! Came with the girls and then brought the husband for some pre-thanksgiving goodies. Shout out to Scott, the friendliest of bar tenders, who took care of me both visits. Epic decorations! They went all out for their holiday theme, based on "A Christmas Story." Vibe is cottage-core meets kitsch (in the best way). We ordered off their holiday menu and had a "It must be Italian" (riff off an aperol spritz) and Bo Ling Toddy (riff off a hot toddy). Both were cute and Stroooooong! The toddy came in a gingerbread man mug, and the spritz was served in a large wine glass. Two cocktails for around $30, and totally worth it. Cheers to a fun, watering hole downtown!

Here is what the QR code takes you to and the hours listed on the homepage.

The Christmas Story vibe was great. We sat down, scanned the QR code to see the menu, ordered drinks and then said we are ready to order and were told 'we don't do food on Sunday'. Really? Would have been nice if we were told when we sat down or even when we ordered drinks. It says on our website we were told. No it doesn't! The QR reader will take you to food and the home page shows your hours by day and makes no mention of it. The server was very nice and found some nuts and chips for us to have with our drinks but honestly we would not have spent $70 on 4 drinks if we had known there was no food available.

The Austin Powers theme is only for a couple more days, if you haven't seen it yet it is lots of fun! Came here for a drink before dinner, and the decor inside is so cozy. A great place to grab a drink and hangout. Service was great, attentive bartender and just an overall chill crowd here. Definitely will be back to try some food and more drinks!

Came here this past Tuesday with a party of 3, we were trying to distract ourselves from election night haha. Our order: We each got 2 drinks, I had a kokomo cab and another red wine that I can't recall anymore, but both were delicious. The three of us also split a mushroom pesto flatbread, as well as the cheese and artichoke dip with bread, and followed up with one more order of deviled eggs after since we got snacky after drinking. Total was about $55 per person ish before tax and tips. Pros: - It's mostly a wine bar vibes, but the food was surprisingly good! Definitely not portions that would fill you up for dinner, but perfect for if you had a late lunch and you're here for dinner-time drinks. - Not super crowded on a Tuesday, which we like. There's a variety of seating options, including at the bar, a larger table that can fit up to maybe 6 people, and seating for pairs around the perimeter. It's not a super large wine bar which I appreciated, perfect for weeknight vibes. - Wide selection of wines! Easy QR code menu that we could order from with descriptions of all the food. - Really efficient and polite service, we didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. We also gabbed for like 2-3 hours and didn't feel pressured to leave since it wasn't super crowded. - Pretty clean bathroom - Very cozy vibes, dark lighting, very romantic, perfect for a date or a fun girls night. A great addition to the downtown Pleasanton area. Cons: - Parking can be tricky if it's a really crowded night, but we got really lucky and got princess parking right across the street. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back here in the future!

We started with the fried pickles, and they were absolutely amazing--crispy, flavorful, and the perfect appetizer. For our meal, we shared the chopped tri-tip salad, and the staff was kind enough to split it for us, which we really appreciated. We also ordered the Bumpkins egg rolls, and I have to say... they are a must-try! They were absolutely delicious. For drinks, we tried the Sauced Favorite cocktail flight for $20. They were just okay, but we also had two shots of Crown Royal, which definitely hit the spot. Our total came to $109, which wasn't bad at all considering everything we ordered, including the drinks. The restaurant was clean, nice and cool inside, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Chicken wings 5/5 - We ordered sauce on the side. They were good even without it. The chicken was so juicy, actual chicken juice and not oil. Ribs 4/5 - Tender, would order this again. Brisket 4/5 - Tender, would also order this again. Burnt ends 3/5 - Just meh. Could be just a personal preference though. Tri-tip 2/4 - It was dry and tough. I would skip this next time. Corn bread 4/5 - It was a good side to have to balance all the meatiness. Mac n cheese 4/5 - Very rich and cheesy. Service 5/5 - Our server was attentive and refilled our group's drinks plenty of times.

In-house we haven't had much issue, but I don't know what's going on with door dash/delivery orders. Almost every time, there's an issue. My littles absolutely love the mini corn dogs, and even though the listing says "with fries" they've suddenly stopped delivering with fries for the past few months ( and don't allow customer notes.) It's also a 50/50 chance the mini corn dogs will be dark and hard... I have a sensitive stomach with dietary restrictions, so I find great comfort that I can get the seared ahi tuna tacos while my husband enjoys a hamburger... but the last few orders have been so wrong. Once I was missing avocado, next I was missing the sauce, and this time my tuna was completely raw, not seared with hard jasmine rice and very tiny avocado slices. I always put input in to DoorDash, but I don't think it's getting to the restaurant... and it's reached a point where I feel like I have to leave this review and maybe find a new go to for quick family dinners. I enjoy visiting, the staff is always so kind and the kids like the back patio. Perfect vibe for a laid back dinner.. but why are the to-go orders so terrible suddenly? Absolutely heartbreaking.

We saw another table waiting to be serviced by him as well. Multiple workers walked by and just eyed each table but never offered help to the poor guy, therefore a few tables grew impatient. Cons: Soon as we walked in we were told it was going to be a 20-30 minute wait, not a problem. We gave them our phone number to alert us when our table was ready, so we found an area at the bar and sat down and waited. 45 minutes passed someone from our party wanted to see how much longer it would be. When asked how much longer, the host said they "didn't have our number to contact us". (Didn't make sense because we gave it to them soon as they asked us to have a seat to wait) They didn't bother to call for us like they were calling other people waiting for a table, they didn't want to walk around to find our party either. When they finally sat us down at a table, we noticed majority of the restaurant was empty (literally only 6-8 tables). Took us about 10 minutes to just get water for everyone (We were a table of 5 btw). Took over 20 minutes to take our order, took almost 30 minutes to get our order. Waited 15 minutes to get to go boxes and the tab. We came in around 7pm left around 9:45ish just to give an estimate of how long we were there for. As someone who had came here several times as they were a kid, to come as an adult for a quick visit to reminisce, it was a disappointment to say the least. Maybe next time I would go to another location to see if the service gets better.

When I jokingly asked the server if they could comp a dessert since a key part of the meal was missing, the response was: "We do not give away free things." No tact, no professionalism--just blunt and dismissive. The manager (K.C./Casey) was even worse--no apology, no accountability, no attempt to resolve anything. Just more attitude. The ambiance was dirty and excessively noisy, and several TVs appeared defective, displaying unnatural green skin tones that made viewing unpleasant. On top of that: dirty tables, inattentive staff, and unprofessional behavior that made the experience uncomfortable. Checked Yelp afterward, and the ~1.5-star rating makes sense. I interacted with autumn, and Dazha, both of whom were very kind, attentive, and provided great recommendations. They provided excellent service. I did not have to wait very long at all to get a beer, or order any food. I was also appreciative that they were able to carry a conversation with me as a patron versus just treating me as someone who was impeding on their workday. Now, onto the beer. I enjoyed the No Tanlines IPA, & the Tropidank IPA. Both were phenomenal. Great taste profile, went down easy and not too heavy on the ABV. Those beers paired nicely with the food that I enjoyed. Speaking of food their menu is just the right size with the right amount of options. I didn't find it overwhelming because honestly nothing is worse than a large menu with excessive options especially at a brewery. Lastly, the ambience of the brewery was very enjoyable. It's just the right size, and they also have a rather eclectic music playlist that I particularly enjoyed and it seems that the Staff there enjoys it along with many of the other patrons. The bartender never once wiped down the bar top even though it was obviously covered in sticky spilled beer and bits of food. The staff were grumpy and didn't seem to be enjoying each other or serving people. One staff person complained about patrons and said they can either wait or order off the QR code...ouch. I got so tired of the bar vibe that I paid and took my beer outside to enjoy in peace. The beer selection seemed decent but I wasn't that impressed to think that I would frequent the place on future visits. They call themselves a brewery but I honestly didn't see any signs of brewing equipment and most of their beers were from other breweries.
