So I was in Montreal on business and my kid insisted that while there I must try something called poutine. So where better to get poutine than from a place called Poutineville? I ordered via a delivery service and poutine is something that you'd have to maybe have the palate for. It wasn't my favorite as it is full of carbs. I thought I'd get a lot of protein on top that I could pick through and eat but it was a lot of fries and smothered in gravy. I'm sure for those that are poutine fans it was good but to me it was not bad just too much for me. I also ordered a salad and it was fresh but had no lettuce in it. The green you see is peppers and cucumbers not lettuce. If ever in the area and you want to try poutine this is a place to get it.
Pooh and I came here for lunch today. We were craving a poutine. The ambience is friendly and lots of space between the tables. Soft music was playing in the background.. We wanted a ground beef and fried onion poutine and out of all the ones they had the closest match was the Cheeseburger poutine I also started off with a small house salad. The house salad was a mix of fresh vegetables and a light dressing which was present without being overwhelming. The poutine was delicious. Be hungry when you come here cuz just the regular size is big. The bits of pickles were a nice addition If I had one complaint I thought there was a bit too much sauce but other than that no other issues.
The food was excellent, and felt like a good deal to my American family (dinner for four for around $65). The ambience is casual and barebones. Service was efficient but curt. No false friendliness or smiles here! We ordered three different takes on poutine and the chicken wings as well as Mac and cheese that had too much real cheese for my daughter ( hah!). I ordered the rouge beer from a local company. They also offer to add booze to milkshakes here which could be exciting for those who do not suffer from lactose intolerance. Overall we were happy with our dinner and I'd recommend trying poutine here if you want an authentic version or even an inspired spinoff.

The poutine is the reason for the three stars. While the flavor was good, it was way too much gravy, IMO! I had the Canada poutine and just found it kind of soupy from so much gravy. Would have been better if it was lighter. Portions huge and a decent value but there are better poutine spots.

They even sling a vegan version for your plant-based pals--and for folks like me who say a firm no to poutine, the Caesar salad with grilled chicken totally hits the spot. Poutineville saved the day, or at least dinner when our original reservation at Ile Flottante was cancelled by the restaurant the day of. Walking distance from our accommodations, we stopped by. I had to try the three foods Montreal is known for during my first trip here, poutine, smoked meat, Montreal bagels. Not wanting to consume an entire sandwich of smoked meat, got creative by combining the first two in Poutineville's Montrealer Poutine but also could not say no to their classic OG of just fries, gravy, and squeaky cheese curds. Both were good but I personally liked the classic OG better.
It's our last day in Montreal and we can't leave without trying a classic poutine. Poutine is French fries covered in gravy and topped with cheese curds. There are Poutineville restaurants all through eastern Canada. This one has a small patio outside and dining area inside with TV. We kinda knew we wouldn't like poutine so we ordered a regular size to sample. The fries and gravy were good but the cheese curds tho. They were squeaky and flavorless. I couldn't eat more than a few bites, but the Canadians love it. We then ordered a hot dog and grilled cheese. Both were decent. The service was really nice and I'm glad we can say we had poutine lol.

You can customize your poutine any way you like at Poutineville; options are endless! You can even order sweet potatoe fries instead of regular fries. This location wasn't busy when I arrived at 1:15pm on a weekday. The service was great and my dish came out really quickly. Being a Canadian, we have poutine everywhere but still need to try poutine in Montreal, especially Poutineville.
If you want poutines, this restaurant is all about it. It is nice roomy restaurant with outside sitting. Service is good. The poutines were pretty delicious. I think I am just not a big poutine because the cheese and gravy make the make the dishes pretty salty.
Didn't know this was a chain until I saw a bunch of them all over Montreal. Got the pulled pork poutine, which was very good. I like the brie cheese and bbq sauce. Kids got the classic poutine, which came with vegan brown sauce, and a chicken sando, which was a bit chewy but good flavor. There were many kinds of poutines to choose from. We ate outdoors as it was quite sunny. Service was good. Kids' meal includes a drink and ice cream, which helped with the heat.
We found the Hangover poutine extremely salty and unfortunately couldn't continue eating after a few minutes in. The bbq wings were decent, crunchy batter with just a tad too much smoked flavor added. Great atmosphere with dark tavern vibes and even a bookcase of classic and modern boardgames and card games. Seems they treat students well too with discount promotions and they have a weekday happy hour discount 3-6pm. I wouldn't return tho because of the overwhelming saltiness in their poutine.
Popped in as a stop on our food tour, and enjoyed the smoked meat poutine which was very tasty! The gravy and cheese curds along with the meal was a great combo! I washed it down with a local white beer. Very good sample of local eats and drinks!

We shared a large Greek salad, Poutineville, and Butter Chicken Poutine. You cannot ask for much else. Plus, this restaurant has games that patrons can play while waiting for their meal.
They serve poutine, sandwiches, burgers, subs, hot dogs, grilled cheese, platters, drinks, desserts, milkshakes. They have so many varieties of Poutine. We ordered the following: 1. Caramel Milkshake ($8.95). 2. Montrealer Signature Poutine ($16.95) with Smoked Meat on the side. 3. Farmer's Delight Signature Poutine ($16.95). Both Poutines were good and the portions were big. Three of us shsred two Poutines. The Smoked Meat was especially good. We ordered it on the side because we were not sure if my son would like it; he loved it! The customer service was good. At the end, they gave my son an very long freezee, which he also enjoyed! There is a bar so they serve alcoholic drinks. Even their milkshakes can have alcohol for an extra $5. You can also play their board games or play Mario Kart on the Switch 2! There were many tables. The decorations were nice. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. Since it is near St Catherine, the location is good. Poutine is good and I prefer the potato poutine rather to sweet potato poutine. Service is prompt and server provides good attention. It is a casual place. Washroom is on the same floor and needs to park on the street . Need to try other type of food in this restaurant like hot dog to get more comprehensive review read more

We were staying nearby and needed some food after a long day of traveling by train. Poutineville was just a few blocks from where we were staying, so we decided to give it a try. Upon walking in we were promptly seated by the friendly hostess/ waitress. The menu had a vast array of Poutines that were world cuisine inspired. I wound up getting the General Tso's Chicken Poutine and was really happy with my order. The gravy was not too rich or heavy and the fries were lighter as well. The sweetness balanced well with the savory quality of the gravy that was used. As for the atmosphere, this is definitely more of a family oriented, casual restaurant. I loved that they had games available to play while you wait. My husband and I played UNO until our food arrived. I would say the lighting was a bit too much like being in a garage, it should've been softer to create more of an ambiance in my opinion. But overall, the food was good and a great value for this part of Montreal. I also really enjoyed the classic rock playing over the speakers. With the games, music and comfort food, it felt like I was transported back to 1988- I seriously think that may have been the last time I played UNO! Wow what amazing food. This Place was so busy. The people working were hustling and working their buts off. They knew right away to give me an English menu. And then when the food came out it tasted like perfection . Very casual atmosphere with games to play. read more
This cozy "hole-in-the-wall" offers crafted poutine creations or the opportunity to create your own - from base, to gravy, to toppings. We had never had poutine but had heard all about it every time we mentioned traveling to Montreal! We ordered the Classic - French fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds (not fried) as a side dish. We also ordered a Caesar salad, and the grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with pulled pork in BBQ sauce, and coleslaw! It was monster-sized and delicious. The poutine was "interesting". I'm glad we tried it, but it's not one of our favorites...maybe it's an acquired taste?!? The service was OK, they were busy (seemed to be many take-out orders) and there were some large parties seated at tables. We had to wave down someone to take our order. After that they were attentive enough. The locale is close to Ville Marie where we were staying. read more
Yummy fresh poutine! So many options! The interior was new and clean and our waitress was superb. We tried the Montrealer and then also built our own. Both were delicious! If you know what you like, the build-your-own option can help you get any version of poutine you can imagine. The fries are perfect and the sauce is super rich. (The cheese curds did not quite squeak if that's important to you; I am not a cheese curd expert but they were quite tasty.) The portions were much larger than expected; 2 people could comfortably share one order unless you are very hungry. We took quite a bit back to the hotel because it was just so filling. Excellent Poutine and Caesar Salad. If you don't like a heavy dose of dressing you might consider having it on the side. Personally I don't mind but my wife thought it was a little much. read more

Food was great! Service was okay (it was busy on a Saturday night), and our server was great at giving suggestions for Poutine I could try. There could have been another person serving as well as I noticed our server did end up leaving us for long stretches without coming back to check on us or refill our water. However, as this was the day before New Year's Eve I thought they may be understaffed due to the Holidays. I ordered the Canadian Poutine (Mac and Cheese) without bacon and it was absolutely delicious! Love that all the gravies are vegan because it makes this establishment friendly for anyone with dietary restrictions that are meat or dairy product related. My partner ordered the Butter Chicken Poutine and it tasted just like butter chicken! We also ordered the spicy wings which were in fact, quite spicy. The portion sizes were also very generous. We got regular sized poutines and a half pound of wings and it was more than enough for two people. Could have taken the leftovers home but as we were staying at a hotel (just visiting Montreal!) we didn't have a microwave to warm up our leftovers. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, perfect for a quick meal. Would probably suggest aggressively flagging down tour server if you need them. Although the service wasn't perfect, the quality of the food was amazing. So many options for poutines. Will definitely be back in the future to try more poutines! read more

The food here is very good! We got the Quebec, the Canada, and the hangover and they were all very yummy. The portions are HUGE for the price. We got to sit on the patio which was beautiful, and we had a great server. Would definitely recommend for good poutine! read more
