If you are visiting Montreal, and looking for a local dish, this is the place to indulge in an order of poutine. Poutineville serves wonderful poutine. The food servers were thoughtful, helpful, and funny. Poutine was delicious beyond description.

There is no shortage of poutine in Montréal and the province of Quebec in general so our standards can be understandably high regarding this classic dish. @poutineville offers many creative twists all served in absolutely massive quantities (this was a small! ) that will certainly get your blood pumping. The lovely crushed potatoes add a special extra taste and we also very much enjoyed our entrée of Mac&Cheese bites - very creamy Probably our favourite part however is that you can build your own creation!

Used to be a 3 meat poutine

Poutine is pretty much everywhere in montreal... We recently moved to Rosemont area recently and took a break from unpacking, so naturally we walked around the neighborhood to get something to eat, and this place is just around the corner... They have signature fries called ecrasé in their poutine, which consists of unpeeled wedges which are boiled then crushed then fried, it gives the fries more surface area to develop a crust. It's quite nice. There are quite a few choices, the standard varieties are there, like bacon, pizza and galvaude... and you get a little score menu where you can make your own, and you can check off what you want like in a sushi resto. My friend had the godfather poutine which tasted like pizza, and I made my own with bacon, cheddar, cold slaw and red wine sauce, it was nice, it had some tanginess of the cold slaw with salty bacon (real bacon, thick cut pieces), and sharp cheddar to tie it all together. The poutine are about 12$ each, a bit on the pricier side, but it's good and the portions are huge. We also order a sample appetizer which had chicken wings, fried pickles, onion rings and fried cheese sticks, served with salsa and spicy mayo. Yummy, I definitely think it's better than la banquise, and the place always seems to be full when we pass by. On the menu there is this poutine called the heart attack!!! it's served in a huge frying pan, and it costs 50$!!! for 10-12 pounds of fries!!!

Tried to make a Mexican poutine lol

Really great service and awesome Poutine. You really Can't go wrong with picking all your toppings. I decided to make my own take on a Mexican poutine WHY NOT? I added black olives, ground beef, guac and sour cream. There's 3 styles of fries you can choose from I took the smashed potatoes because they were different and I like different lol.The waitress Mary S was super friendly and even let us try different type of fries which was pretty cool. I would definitely go back the poutines are huge and delicious a must try.

This is before Covid, a very delicious plate of poutine. Looking forward to going back one this is all said and done. I have yet try to order during these unprecedented time as I live far from delivering distance. One of my friends told me they remain still one of the best poutine spots in town...

it's been more than 15 years I lived in Montreal. Best poutine place ever. You get a paper to make your own poutine. Add anything you want to create your own style. I added almost everthing inside. It was perfect one. They also have their signature poutine and other already made combination. 10/10 Also good service. I ate 37$ poutine and no regret.. except I have to go to gym...

What more needs to be said? Best poutine in town bar none. Service fast and friendly. Soda served in cans and bottles instead that watered down crap too many joints try to serve you with. This place is unique in the way you can either order preset templates of poutine off the menu or you can customize a poutine EXACTLY THE WAY YOU WANT IT. Seriously, why isn't this done at more places? If you never have had poutine here before... fix that.

I had been wanting to try Poutineville for ages, and constantly put it off until my decisive friends made the move for me. First off, I feel I didn't do Poutineville justice. I think this is the place you go to when you're already very clear about what poutine is, how you like yours, what you want it to taste like. You should go there and think "I'mnna have a weird poutine", and be firm in your resolve. I didn't do that. I half-assedly odered the sampler: one small sweet potato fries/ pepper sauce and one small crushed potato fries with wine sauce. My friends on the other hand went all out with extra pogos and all-veggie and whatnot. So I recommend the sweet potatoes but, with wine sauce. The pepper sauce is much too salty actually and kills it all. I thought the cheese lacked in squeakiness. The bowls went cold quickly. It was all very okay. BUT, if you get funky with your order, then your meal becomes a perpetual hide-and-seek and things are wonderful! So you do that. And don't throw away a good poutine, they do doggy-bags..

We came here right before dinner time. The place was not crowded. If you like to create your own poutine, this place is definitely worth checking out. They let you create your own poutine. Pick the type of fries, the sauce, & toppings. We did not create our own poutine. We got the La Poutinville & the Rocky. La Poutinville is poutin with beef, mozzarella, & wine sauce. The Rocky is poutine with steak, onion, & cheddar cheese. We like the Rocky better than the La Poutinville. The Rocky is very cheesy, just like the Philly Cheesesteak. Excellent service! Friendly & attentive waiter! Generous portion! Definitely worth stopping by!

Amazing poutine! definitely a place to go. If you're a big group you should try the heart attack/crise cardiaque poutine it's huge and tastes good. Good place to customize your poutine.

I'd never had the French Canadian heart-attack-on-a-plate, and was a little nervous as it just looks like it has A LOT going on. I sludged into La Banquise dead sober at 4:11am, as this is a legendary spot that is open 24 hours. I sat down in a bustling no frills atmosphere and remembered my deep appreciation for a 24-hour diner. You see people for who they really are this early in the morning. A couple in front of me was in a heated argument about what "being exclusive" really meant, while two separate groups of 4 to my right were feeling no pain and enjoying a poutine night cap. There I was, sipping on my black coffee mentally prepping myself for the 45 mile (72 km) day I had in front of me. The dichotomy of life. I asked the server what the most popular item was, and he said La Scooby. This monstrosity consisted of fresh cut fries, cheese, gravy, ground beef, bacon, onions, fried pickles, and caesar dressing garlic sauce. I got the small ($12.40 usd), but this thing was a TANK. It was bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. The large must be a family style portion or somethin. Upon first bite, it was damn good. I completely see the poutine appeal. Is it an ideal meal dead sober at 4:11am? No, absolutely not, but this is an S-tier hangover food. Also, if there is ever a day when I need some extra calories, it's on a 100k step day. All the staff was so welcoming, and surprisingly chipper this early in the morning. SHOUTOUT TO LA BANQUISE! THANK YOU FOR FUELING THE JOURNEY! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

I took my niece from New York City here because La Banquise is supposed to be the "must try" poutine spot in Montreal. We had a great night overall: soccer game, drinks at Mellon Brasserie (none of us were drunk; my wife was 100% sober). Everything was fun and chill. But La Banquise completely ruined the end of that trip, and I'm not okay with letting this go. We paid for the food and service. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: at the end of the day, we were customers, and we deserved to be treated with respect. We waited for our Uber outside. It was cold, and I'm on crutches, so my injuries hurt badly in the cold. After waiting outside for a long time with the Uber not showing up, we went back inside to wait near the door, in the corner, not blocking anyone. The staff at the door immediately came in and started rudely and aggressively kicking us out. He refused to speak English with me after I clearly said, "I don't speak French, so talk to me in English." He kept talking French and was rude to my wife, my niece, and me. He told the waitress in French that we were "blocking the way," which was 100% false. (My wife speaks French) We were just standing near the entrance, waiting for a few minutes, trying to get out of the cold. When I went to the cashier and explained, "This guy is kicking me out. I just paid for my meal. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: you're still a customer, and you shouldn't be kicked out and treated like trash just because you're waiting for your Uber on crutches. I'm on crutches, it's cold, and my Uber isn't here yet," they called a waitress who also started telling us to leave instead of helping. She didn't try to find a solution; she just said, "No, no, leave, leave." This is not just bad service. This is disgusting, disrespectful treatment of a paying customer with a mobility issue. My niece, who had a blast all night, ended the trip saying, "What the f....? You bring me here and they treat us like this?" She now has a bad impression of Montreal because of this place. My niece is from New York City, and she's also posting her own review. That review will be seen by people in New York and by tourists looking for recommendations. If you treat tourists like this, you're not just ruining one night, you're ruining the image of the whole city. Montreal is supposed to be a welcoming city for tourists and people looking to have fun and be treated with respect. La Banquise failed that completely. The food was okay, but the experience was terrible because of how we were treated. This is unacceptable. You should be ashamed of how you handled this.
