In and out of there in 15 minutes. I went on a Thursday morning so I don't know how long it takes on a weekend but with 2 bays they were very efficient. Time is money in my world. I've taken two of our family cars to Poway Smog Station. Both times, a friendly technician greeted me before I have even stepped outside my car! How nice is that? The waiting area is air-conditioned, clean, and comfortable, and the customer service is excellent. They also have free wi-fi which was nice because I was able to work while I waited. I will only be using them because of the customer service and awesome staff. I love working with Jessie at the front desk. She's a sweetheart. If I knew how fast and easy a smog here would have been sooner, I would have not procrastinated so much! I found this joint on yelp, figured I would give it a try. I pulled up and they immediately waved me into a bay. I went inside took care of the paperwork, and i barely had time to sit down and play on my phone (let's be honest) before the guy came in and told me my car passed and it was done. Totally awesome! Fastest smog I have ever had. And they have a nice big waiting room that smelled like some citrus air freshener. All great! I will be back here in the future! read more

I was just there today and had the best experience ever. I work close by and only had 1 hour to drive 5 miles (through poway, yikes!) and back so I was hesitant to even go today to get a smog check. After reading a few reviews, I called and a man answered the phone and he was very straight forward, "yeah, no need for an appointment and it will take about half an hour", he said. DEAL. Went during lunch and they got my car checked in 15 minutes, no joke. I went to the bathroom (which was decent btw) and by the time I came out my car was done. Young lady at the front desk is a delight too. Had time to get some food before my lunch shift ended, so thank you and see you in 2 years! read more

These guys know how to run an efficient operation! I called them at 4:15pm on Saturday and asked how late they would be able to take me. They said that so long as I arrived by 5pm, they'd make sure to get my car smogged. The woman explained the pricing up front as well. I got there at 4:30 and was done in 15 minutes. They have a large, clean waiting room and took care of the check very fast. I will go back there for every smog check I need and will recommend friends to use them as well. We need to reward them for their friendly, prompt, and efficient operation. Well done guys! read more

The ratings are 100% true. I came here for my 2015 smog check and everything went off without a hitch. A couple weeks ago it was that time again but I opted for a closer location to my work in RB; BIG MISTAKE. I walk into the RB's smog office and there's a guy on the computer who doesn't even acknowledge me. It was probably 11 seconds before he said hi. Anything after 5 seconds makes for absurd awkwardness. I gave him my form and he said "'93, huh?" That's the year of my car. I say yes. He says "2 hours." I'm like 2 hours??? What??? Then he downed it to an hour and 45, citing two vehicles ahead of me and that it takes another 45 minutes to do the old cars. Bro, what are you talking about? It's never taken more than about 12 minutes to smog my car. He blabbed about how the machine doesn't always work. Maybe he just didn't want to do it, I don't know. It was a very unsettling conversation that gave me bad vibes the second I entered the office. ANYWAY, I needed this smog by Friday so I drive the extra miles to the Poway Smog Station and they get me in right away. The gentleman who administers the checks came right out of the garage with a friendly greeting. The lady at the front office provides excellent service with a smile. Including the paperwork and payment I was on my way in 15 minutes. No hassle and a very pleasant experience. I wish there were more good things to say so I could make my positive review of this location longer than the negative review of the RB location, but there's not much else to say. This is just a legit 5 star service and that gets the job done and takes good care of customers. Appreciate the service. Thanks! read more

Great customer service, friendly people. My old 1994 Honda Civic barely failed the smog check. I went home, did a tune up, and brought my car back the next day. I was not looking forward to this smog test. The one I did last year was awful- waiting in a hot, dirty office for a LONG time. But everything changed when I visited Poway Smog Station. I was met at my car by a really nice young woman who helped me figure out what to bring. The office was bright, clean and cool. And the test was done in under 15 minutes! 5 star Smog Station? Can you believe it? Yes you can. I came here because of the Yelp reviews and I found it to be great. The service was friendly, helpful and courteous. I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes max but I woudnt have known it because I spoke with a wonderful gentleman named Dave who was an immigrant from the UK and became a US Citizen. We spoke about US History and he was better versed than 99.99% of natural born citizens and I learned somethings while i was passing my smog test. So I actually had a 'pleasant' experience getting my truck smogged! I find drinking a coffee at Starbucks to be more stressful than this was. I mean it IS a smog station in an industrial business park kind of building but they do the best and run a good business.
