Third time is third charm. Took the car in for smog check the third time and it's is still the best experience. This time my girlfriend drove there and in about 20 minutes, it was done. She was a bit hesitate to go by herself but I told her there is nothing to worry about. Sure enough. She was well taken care of and she has nothing but great compliments for the people there. 5 star Smog Station? Can you believe it? Yes you can. I came here because of the Yelp reviews and I found it to be great. The service was friendly, helpful and courteous. I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes max but I woudnt have known it because I spoke with a wonderful gentleman named Dave who was an immigrant from the UK and became a US Citizen. We spoke about US History and he was better versed than 99.99% of natural born citizens and I learned somethings while i was passing my smog test. So I actually had a 'pleasant' experience getting my truck smogged! I find drinking a coffee at Starbucks to be more stressful than this was. I mean it IS a smog station in an industrial business park kind of building but they do the best and run a good business. Recently, I realized my registration was due this month. So I went to the DMV to find that there is a 5-hour wait, it took me 45 minutes to get a number. While waiting in line I remembered that you can sometimes go to those places outside of the DMV. So I used Yelp to find this location. I drove 5 minutes from the DMV paid my fees and was finished in under 10 minutes total. Stickers in hand! I highly recommend this place. can't speak for the smog, but for DMV assistance (they do more than just registration renewal also title and stuff) .. save yourself hours of aggravation at the DMV , your hair will turn gray. read more

I literally showed up at 2:58pm on a Sunday (they close at 3) and they took me with a smile. Less than 10 minutes later I was on my way. Great service and they cheered when my car passed smog -- it occurred to me that if you are worried about unscrupulous smog places (NOT this place), you could show up 20min before they close and they are somewhat more incented to not pull any funny business, since they want to close up and get home. That is not needed at Poway Smog Station though, they are professional, clean, and super-fast. Coupon via Yelp or their website gets you total smog cost of $46, a good deal (and it even applies if your smog notice says TEST ONLY, which is typically much more expensive than regular smogging). read more

This place rocks!! They are totally honest, waaaaay cool, friendly, and fast. Their waiting room has Wi-Fi, plenty of great magazines, and a snack machine. Prices are totally reasonable and the staff even go out of their way to help you save money. They even give away free classic car calendars. I took my car into today to get it smogged. It was my first time there, but I went there on high recommendations of family & friends; I wasn't disappointed! I have a sports car with a high speed cold air intake to give my car more power. Unfortunately the state of California still hasn't approved such a device and I wasn't able to take the test. The guy performing the exam called the manufacturer of my CAI to see if he could find any pending approvals from the EPA so that I wouldn't have to make a 2nd trip. As it turned out, I couldn't get the test today so they offered me to come back and retake the exam with the original stock intake system reinstalled (which I had in storage) and did NOT charge me for today's visit. They even offered me a discount coupon right on the spot! These guys are very down to earth and trustworthy. I will DEFINITELY bring my car back to them again for a re-test and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a great service from honest people! P.S.
