The RNs are in touch with the patient's needs and contact the proper medical providers when needed. Unfortunately there is significant delay in initiating proper treatment, such as antibiotics, etc. In addition, treatment managers to not contact family members routinely nor do they give details of care, planning, testing, etc. prior to the group sit down. In some cases this can be a real challenge for the patient, who may need better communication due to hearing, visual limits etc. After release, we inquired about some dates of care via telephone x 3 to the care specialist, with No response. While at Village Rehab, my husband complained about the food, did not eat, and lost weight. So I tasted the "soup"....he was right. After returning home he has regained some weight and pursues regular meals, so it was not his illness.

My 96 year…read moreold mom, who was an absolute joy and my best friend, was a patient there recently after a fall in her home. Her health declined fairly quickly and ended up basically needing comfort care as Hospice was not available for about 3-4 days out. The staff ( All of them) were absolutely wonderful with her and myself as I was with her every day. The nurses, CNA's, physical therapy, nutrition services, housekeeping services were all so respectful and kind. A very heartfelt shoutout to Melanie and Adrienne. I could not have gone through this without their Empathy, kindness and problem solving skills. The facility itself is clean and well maintained with a homey feel as opposed to a cold sterile environment. The meals are very good as well. I would not send a family member anywhere else if needed. Highly recommend 10/10.

When he complained about not being able to sleep, and how much pain he was in, the nursed would ask him the same questions that another nurse had asked him the day before. Then we got a lot of "I'll leave a note for your doctor". It seems that the note never got left because we were told that several times about my Dads pain. He would occasionally go up to 11 hours without it. It was prescribed for every 6. So I asked for a list of his medications and the times that he is given them. I have medical power of attorney, so it seems easy enough. Nope! Not here. First I asked a woman at the front desk area, who refused to give me her name, and she told me I had to find his nurse.... Well, he was nowhere around my Dad's room, so I asked his CNA, Moreno. She told me that I had to ask his nurse. Like Im supposed to wander around the care facitly looking for his nurse. So I hit his call button. 25 minutes later, I timed it, Moren, his CNA came in. "I don't need you, I need his nurse", I said. He finally came in and asked the same questions and said he'd leave the doctor a note. Unbelievable. So I tried to contact 2 people in charge of his care, Debbie and Joyce. No one answered the number I was given by his nurse Jordan, and Debbie hasn't replied to my email. It's been over a week and still no response. I am beyond pissed off about this. I would tell anyone looking for a care facility, full-time or for recovery, to pass on this one. They obviously don't care much about their patients. And, sorry this is so long. If anyone from the facility would have called me back, I would have told them all of this in such less public way. Please! Pick the next one on the list...

I was immediately surprised at the building architecture and surroundings and upon entering my room, I was greeted by sunlight, clean, fresh, and a great room, kitchenette and bedroom, large roll in shower and bathroom. I was greeted by name and even one of the residents was holding me a place for lunch. The executive staff is very professional but warm and kind. The support staff is equally amenable. I have never had anyone be short with me upon a request. The activities director is amazing in the number of activities she organizes. If you are looking for a place for a family member or yourself, this facility is a nice size. Not too small, not too big. I would definitely return here in the future if necessary for my well being. One of my best friends just retired as an ombudsman for retirement centers. Oswego Place did not know who she was of course and she said to me "the atmosphere here is positive and welcoming."

In…read morethe year+ since my great aunt moved to Oswego Place, there have been 6 (yes six!) different executive directors. She has lost count the number of activities staff that have come and gone and it's a revolving door for care staff. Staff are literally there one week and gone the next. There is no continuity whatsoever and understaffing is a constant problem along with theft. There have been many residents, including my aunt who have had precious items stolen, and although there is a rumor that one of the elderly residents is the thief, my aunt believes it is the unscrupulous staff. Bonaventure leadership does not care whatsoever and gaslights those who report theft. Bonaventure leadership has also been entirely unresponsive to the issues raised by residents. My aunt has asked repeatedly for fresh fruit for breakfast but has never been served anything other than cheap canned fruit. She also asked for more cultural activities outside of the building, but that almost never happens. Our family knows Dwight Dunton, the owner of Bonaventure, and that's why my great aunt was moved to Oswego Place. But it turns out knowing people in high places is no assurance. Dwight rakes in millions of dollars off self-paying residents and Medicaid, living a rich man's life while his employees and his customers suffer under poor management and a lack of investment in business operations and facility maintenance. Sadly, Oswego Place is just another example of a multi-millionaire living off the backs of good, hard working people.

I was even able to get a haircut in their Salon before I left. the only negative is it was impossible to connect on the phone to try to get a room reserved, way understaffed there but that is the only place that was an issue. Finally, my son went to the facility and was able to meet with them and reserve a room. I would go back in a heartbeat if I had the need.

There are many selections there to choose from. The oil & vinegar dressing was very, very thick. What makes oil & vinegar thick? Beats me! Cornstarch? Flour? Glue? LOL If I wanted thick dressing on my salad, I would have chosen Ranch or Thousand Island, maybe Blue Cheese? I was hungry, so I have no choice but eat all that I picked, plus a small slice of chocolate cake. Yum! One lady had very little on her plate, my rooster could eat that, and she's got good control if she was trying to lose weight. Or it was just not appealing to her. But why would anyone pay $9 for a buffet, if you're gonna eat like a rooster. My new friend tried their soup, she said it was VERY hot, but good. OK, now it's raining so hard. They are like a large family, they are helpful, friendly, and they have many people who are residents volunteer - getting more involved than other retirement facilities I've visited. They have activities to get them more involved, and as volunteers, you are part the 'community'. It's not like, you go out to have a meal, then go back to your room. We were interested initially due to the social media posts about it being an active community, which was a huge selling point for us. We ultimately did not choose to move our grandmother here due to lack of communication. They would request something, and then go silent for weeks at a time. Fast forward, and I'm now a nursing student looking for part time work. Arcadia came up and I decided to apply, heard back immediately and scheduled an interview. I'll keep my experience short but my "interview" or lack there of with Austin Black was something I have never experienced in my decade in healthcare. It will make a good dinner conversation for years to come. Overall, a sloppy facility plagued with poor communication, inconsistent follow-through and seemingly incompetent leadership.
