How ironic for a place located in San Francisco to have an experience that felt anything but LGBTQ+ friendly. My friend came to meet me at this business and was denied entry because they were wearing open-toed shoes, despite being dressed up in leather pants, a mesh top, and a full face of makeup. They were also charged a $100 cover. I arrived shortly after wearing open-toed shoes myself, was allowed right in, and paid a $60 cover. The inconsistency in the dress code enforcement was disappointing, especially when the difference in treatment felt so noticeable. Deceptive pricing and rude staff. Advertised $70 for couples on 7/17-7/18 and wanted to charge $80. Said the $70 only applied on 7/17 and they had no control over what's posted on their website. Ridiculous excuse. You don't control your own website? The confusion could have easily been avoided by clearly stating "price applies night of 7/17" instead of listing two dates for the $70 price. On top of that, the very rude bouncer tried to tell us it was $100 each (which is the non-couple pricing), despite us informing him we were a couple. It was all handled incredibly poorly by both the bouncer and the man behind the desk where you pay. We left after experiencing such condescending attitudes. It's tough to review this place because we're trying to be conscientious of kinks that are not our own, but our overview is that this club definitely wasn't for us and wasn't for beginners (as someone else said in their review). Positives: All of the staff were very nice, the N/A drinks were very affordable, the space seemed well-kempt, they had a full-sized Hans Solo in a carbonite block lol. Critiques: The Couples-only area was not in effect the night we were there, so there was no place to lounge away from the aggressive sausage factory. More than one person who approached us smelled heavily of alcohol which indicated that the door person (who was very nice btw) was not filtering out intoxicated folks -- this definitely made us feel uncomfortable & less safe regarding consent & having folks be self-aware when approaching us. The space felt very cavernous and we would have felt more safe if there was a staff person in each room to make sure people were playing ethically. Overall: We felt that PE was definitely only for advanced goers, and really more of a Sex Club only, it didn't feel like a kink event space except for perhaps kinks centered around voyeurism & exhibitionism & casual sex. It may have been the night/time we were there, but based on other reviews it seems fairly average to have a heavily single male dominated vibe and for them to be aggressively approaching without interest in properly meeting &/or negotiating a scene, more just to get off immediately (no kink judgement here if that's your thing). We participated with a couple where us women played and the husband watched, along with the crowd of guys. No alcohol. They do have water, sodas and snacks. Parking... parking was a bit*h. We parked in the lot on turk since they are open late for the club. Parking is limited and it's difficult to turn around if you find no parking. It was also $41 for roughly 4 hours. The thing I appreciated the most... the bouncer at coat check, LB, I believe. He was so nice, explained everything, made us feel comfortable and also kept checking on us throughout the night since we were the only single women. Even walked us back to our car. He was so awesome and it was so appreciated to help ease the fluttery feelings. There are 3 floors. Downstairs is the dungeon. They have saddles and a swing that I wish I could've tried. Middle floor has a main bed, couch and chairs, striper pole/stage. 3rd floor was another pole, glory hole, has a private room. Overall, I would go back but I would bring a guy with me if possible. I have been going to PE since it was on Harrison and to Otis st. The Otis location was a godsend. When I heard they moved to the old strip club. I thought " cool, grungy sexy vibe" which it is in every sense. I can agree with almost every review. the good and the bad. I have taken about 5 different women to PE over it's time on Jones st. PE is always a good time, but like any club...it is what you make it. My wife and I go regularly The good: clean. Staff is always friendly and helpful with us. Gloryholes! We love them and it is a good way for action and have control over the other persons actions! Staff monitors the jerks and warns them regularly if they don't follow the rules. They do not hesitate to throw guys out for it...awesome! Couples area (on nights when it is couples only) is a good escape from the guys who like to follow you around. We generally go here for single guys, but even we need a break here and there. The bad: upstairs music is too romantic and slow. Downstairs is metal, which is better, but not a problem. Wish it was louder in both areas. Wish there were more private play space. There are no single guy play areas that you cannot be watched by a dozen people or more. Welcome back Power Exchange. Many of you know that the Power Exchange was forced to move out of its Otis Street address when the building landlord went bankrupt. It then moved to 34 Mason Street, but the Fire Department (read "community activists") appear to have torpedoed that location as well. Well, the Power Exchange is back, and better than ever. The present location used to be the "Pink Diamonds Gentleman's Club." Unfortunately for the gentleman, Frisco closed down Pink Diamonds in October, 2009. I entered and was greeted by the cavernous main floor, with its red carpet and red lounge couches, its black ceiling and white lighted stage floor, its white draped walls and balconey. There were these little themed booths (mariachi?, Asia town, freaky clowns, satanic, etc.) which were only lit using black-lights. There's also a nice balcony with a few stools to watch the stage. Somehow, a plump man in his late fifties started following us and standing really, really close to me... Everywhere I turned, there he was! Creepy. We escaped to the restricted "couples room", which is on the other side of the tinted window next to the balcony. We waited and waited, and even met the owners that had stopped by. We complained about the crowd (or lack thereof), but they insisted a decent amount of people would spontaneously appear in an hour or so (11ish). Peeking through the window like puppies, we waited. A fellow on the other side saw us and sat on the stool and started choking his chicken to us. Wtf?? We weren't even getting it on! We tried everything from ignoring him, to burying our faces behind the couch, to making angry faces. He just smiled and started scooting closer to me. Sighs. Five minutes later, he came back and started doing the same thing again... We sat there until 11:45ish and the crowd grew to maybe 10 or 15. Everyone was boring and just sitting around and talking, except two girls(?) who were pole dancing and trying to get monies. Most of the crowd was late fifties and over, and on the hefty side. Though, there was one flamboyant youngster (late thirties) that was sporting a blonde wig and kept things interesting. He pointed to me and yelled, "I WANT (posey)!" We smiled. All of this resonated with us for some time. I was expecting "Eyes Wide Shut", but was extraneously unimpressed. I got a voucher for free admission on my next visit (they said I came on a bad night), which I still haven't used. My iPhone was safe and sound, so I was happy. No Reddit, Wikipedia, 4Chan, YouTube, Pirate Bay, or LiveScience. So why give away $14 for a 2 hour film when you can have hours of everlasting entertainment for $10 here? I haven't been here in probably over 10 years and since were celebrating for my friends birthday we figured we would make this place our last stop which was at about 2:30 AM. There are two levels and on the first floor it's really big and open with couches, as well as a stage with a pole which I thought was pretty cool. The second floor is a little bit more secluded with the rooms. The staff was really nice so the 2 stars isn't because of the service they provided it was because of the type of people that were there. It was at least 3/4 men, the guys in there were really perverted and had flashlights. I absolutely love it here! I feel very welcomed by the staff and they were quick to help when needed. There is always disinfectant wipes available, making clean up easy and quick. This is my go to for an amazing time with myself. The music is awesome. The venue is super cool and flows very well. The staff is so respectful and really helped the first time I went. I continue to go regularly. There will always be stupud men that we can't control, but j just feel flattered when men wanna watch me and at no point do I feel in danger of them. If I did I know for sure the staff will get on it. It's about being safe clean and comfortable. If you're looking for an easy lay, this might not be for you.
