I have had Powe Home Remodeling do extensive work in my home. Roof, gutters, bow window, 2 double windows and 2 master bedroom windows. They are terrible with customer service. I had so many problems after I paid for all the work I had done. The bedroom windows are sub par. The air conditioner wouldnt fit. They had an issue with putting it in. Gave me an attitude because couldn't get it out so Rich put 2 chips in my new dresser. He was pissed about putting my new blinds up because they threw the brackets away so I had to replace it. They broke my outside video camera. I will not be using this company again. I'm pissed that I had recommended them to other people. I will not have them do my siding on my house. My neighbor said she will not use Power to do the work on her house again either. Be warned if you use them. read more

Could not be happier with our decision to replace our windows with power. Started with a cold call solicitation knock on the door and 6 weeks later we had a whole set of new windows and gutters. The whole process was seamless. The sales visit seemed like a friend just coming over. No pressure and for us, all the options and financials made sense, so there really was no "close". I have politely tried to tell them I'm not interested but they persist until I finally have to be rude and say that I'm not going to talk to them anymore and close the door. Please do you a favor do not use this company. They will come inspect your roof. They will tell you it needs to be replace. They sort of convince you to do right away that is why they give such a good deal and get you approved right away. When they do the job they are messy broke my back light one of my siding came out. The old gutter looked really nice they did a terrible job. Called them to fix it they were upset never called back. They came cause they finance company reach out to them. Now the new roof is leaking which was done in end of February and is only June. They told my husband it was one thing and they telling it was because of the terrible job they did with the old roof that never leakEd. Even if it cost more don't use POWER HOME REMODELING now is costing me more because their answer was get a ha doman to fix it. Their warranty won't cover it. My experience with their sales person/scheduler was sketchy and offensive. A young man rang my doorbell to try to sell me on siding and windows. It just so happened that we are in the market for new siding, so I was willing to hear him out despite the patronizing small talk. He explained that someone could come out the next evening to give me a an estimate between 6:30 and 7:00, and I agreed. Instead of simply scheduling it himself, he had to call the "scheduler," to whom I had to repeat the same information I just gave the sales rep. Then they proceeded to ask me whether my husband will be home for the estimate, and I said no. They said they wouldn't meet with me without him there because "he might ask questions that would change the estimate." They persisted in asking when my husband would be home on other days. I repeatedly explained that he is not available in the evenings due to work, and they basically implied that they wouldn't give me an estimate in his absence. I sincerely doubt they would tell a man that his wife has to be home to give them an estimate. Aside from the fact that I am the primary decision-maker for our household, it is deeply insulting, outdated, and obnoxious to refuse to do business with a woman homeowner. I told them I had to go (what they promised would be a 5-minute chat turned into 15 minutes of back and forth over this), and they said someone would call me the next evening at the time we scheduled to see if they could come by. I was going to share these thoughts when they reached out, but lo and behold no one ever called. Not surprising since it would apparently violate their policy to dare to discuss home remodeling and numbers with a woman. read more

Had a new roof installed, attic eclipse insulation and new front entrance door on July 7th and 8, 2016. Had to come back an extra day because sky lights were wrong size. Dumpster left indentations in drive way because it was not properly dropped on wooden rails. The company was aware of this, took pictures etc and put me in contact with Lou (not a company employee) but a "dumpster broker". When I was given his number to contact I called him and he said I would have to contact driveway construction companies to obtain a quote and get back to him. Why I have to do this is beyond me. Power should be in complete control of the entire job and its workers especially given the top dollar cost of the project. Called Lou today and await his return call. read more

This is the 1st negative review I have ever wrote but I thought it was necessary to save another consumer the headaches I have been given from Power home remodeling. They convinced me to trust them with putting a new roof on my home. They charges me an enormous amount to do the work, but I thought it was ok since they guaranteed all the work for 50 years waranteed. It's not even 8 months since the work was done and I discovered a leak on the upstairs bathroom wall. I call Power and they sent someone to check and evaluate it, The service guy sees and documents that a nail from the install punctured an air pipe and is causing a water condition which is damaging the bathroom wall. I had to call them more than a dozen times, finally I get Elyse Wallace on the phone from Power. She tells me that essentially its my fault that the pipe was too close to the roof and that I should pay half of the repair and that all the damage that was caused to my bathroom wall was also my full responsibility to pay for. She continued to speak to me in an unprofessional way and kept interrupting any issue I had with this situation. Question: If I had no leak before the work, and you cause the leak, why am I responsible? And what about that amazing 50 year warranty on everything? I don't get fooled to often but beware of this company. I will make it my new hobby to tell everyone I can about this unethical company and I am taking them to court for their fraudulent warranty and faulty work. On January 14th, a clown from this company came knocking on my door around 6:30 at night. I was reluctant to open the door because I was tired and had dinner cooking on the stove. I opened the door and was polite as the guy went right into his sales pitch. I wasn't particularly interested as new windows and siding really weren't in my budget. He said not to worry, that the quote was free and I could get the work done at any time. I informed the guy that I dinner burning on the stove so if we could wrap this up, that would be great. I caved and just gave him my number to get the whole routine to stop figuring he'd just have someone call me. He proceeded to call some guy he works with to schedule an appointment with me. He hands me his cell and I answer all the same questions I just answered for the guy standing in front of me. At this point I'm annoyed and finally get off the phone and back in my house to my half burned dinner. I gave my cell phone number to the guy, but no more than a minute later, my house phone rings. I had just moved in, so mind you, I didn't even know my own house phone number at that point. The guy I just talked to on the salesman's cell phone is now stalking me on my home phone. I played dumb and asked who this was as he asked me "Bro didn't we just talk?" Fast forward nearly 2 months and I have received a total of 29 calls from this company on my cell phone alone. I don't know how many more times they've called my house. Most people would take a hint after a couple missed calls, me saying I'm not interested & hanging up, or I don't know, SCREAMING INTO THE PHONE TO STOP CALLING ME. They're persistent and bordering on harassment now, so I'm currently debating where I want to take this if they continue bothering me. If these people knock on your front door, close it as fast as you can and don't give out your number. A year later After I purchased my house starting to have leaks from the roof, leaks all around the roof, staring making calls to roofers to repair most of the contractors asking too much for repair and most of them didn't gave me the confidence, few years later finally from no where POWER showed up and knocked my door and at the first minute they impressed me how they introduce their selfs very profesional, I don't remember the name of the guy whom knocked my door, that night was cold and raining nothing prevented him to talk to me about the company and all the products they offer, after that everything went great which the salesman then with the project manager and finally the day of the job, this people are legit the crew was impressed all of them under a Forman supervision, the supervisor explain every little detail about how they will perform the job from the beginning to the end of the job they were supervised, after the job was done the supervisor went over how they did with pictures before at middle of the job and at the end of the job, we walked around the house to see if there was any debris left back we also went to my next door neighbor to check for any debris and every thing was picked up. this company is the epitome of unprofessional! this company subcontracts people to redo siding. they promised me that if the work done was not up to my satisfaction, they would come back and fix it. they promised crews would come and fix the siding that has already buckled, the crooked trim to my windows, the lights they placed back on my house that now do not turn on, the garage alarm they placed on the wrong side of the garage, the alignment of my deck they botched when they put the siding on, and not to mention the j channel they sent that is the wrong size and was never replaced with the right size!!!!!!! this company puts you in debt while they promise unfulfillable promises and is now silent and absent. every single time i call, they "attempt" to get in contact with the project manager in my area, but never have a solution. when asked for the project managers information, the person as well as the role is non existent! i am now seeking legal counsel because this is not at all what i payed for! this is a company taking advantage of minority middle class families who don't hold as much "status" as high class households! do not allow this company to go anywhere near your house! their lack of morals, respect, honor, loyalty, and down right common sense are not worth any penny you have to offer!!!!!! read more

This is our first time using PHR. I was replacing my picture window that was over forty years old and in terrible shape. The window was huge and I knew that it was going to cost a pretty penny. I had numerous estimates done and all were astronomical for a smaller window that I did not want. PHR was the only company that had the window I wanted and was reasonable. I will not lie I am glad I had previous estimates to compare it too because when the representative gave me his quote it was a set for a specific time period but that worked in my favor. The representative was very knowledgeable and professional. What sold me was the lifetime warranty that is even transferable if I ever sell the house and the fact that the windows are all American made. The whole process was fast efficiant and the end result was just what I wanted. This company is a scam they met with my parents who are in the 70's with a very aggressive sales pitch and a fairy tale of how they will put in a new roof. They signed even though it was extremely over priced but they thought if it's a reputable company and they do what they say then it would be worth it. IT WAS NOT . First they had an appointment and was wasn't called until the middle of the day that the appointment was rescheduled. Fast forward 2 weeks later they came to start the worker could not communicate in English so when my parents had questions no one could answer they said they would put down tarps all around the house they did not they put down 2 and both were old and ripped so debre went everywhere and then they had an old broken broom that didn't work so they didn't even bother to use. So my elderly parents had o sweep up their own stoop when the workers left. There is tar on the house stoop and their brand new fence. They also broke a big bush and when my parents told the project manager he told them its no big deal. They also broke siding and other things they weren't replacing. We are waiting to see how they are doing to resolve this . Both my parents and I can not wait for them to be finished and to leave it was a horrible experience for them and we never use them again I will keep you updated if the replace the siding they broke and what they are going to do about the tar the is all over the house and fence. read more

I purchased a house that was built in the 1890's, needless to say I wanted to be careful with every upgrade or repair. My roof was last re-shingled in 1999 with a third layer that is improper and overlooked. After living here for a yr. I put out to bid replacing my roof to 3 roofing contractors, all of whom were personally recommended. They each thoroughly inspected the site. A Power home modeling rep happened to be canvassing the neighborhood; sure I would allow them to inspect and put in a bid. Let me say all of the others were great individuals and very personable, but the Power rep. Kevin McGuirl was all that and a step above. Now the H.S. girl gushing part, bear in mind that I'm a 50 yr. old former Marine. The level of professionalism shows throughout the entire process. Power was not the lowest bid, in fact they were $2500 above the highest bid, however when I say it was entirely a worry-free process that gave me absolute peace of mind, it was well worth that expense. The materials used are all part of a complete roofing system that they will even guarantee the labor cost of any future repair or replacement in writing, if ever necessary. Now is that worry-free or what? As a Marine, we appreciate organization and skill. Their crew worked in unison that would make a drill team proud; no wasted time, no wasted movement, all work, all professional. And the level of oversight and safety would make you think they wrote the OSHA regs. They have a site safety Forman, (David) who also gets his hands in there and works as well as a project mgr (Mike Nucci) and then you'll have a visit by a quality assurance mgr; in my case it was Ron Carthy, another gem. My roof was done in a single day with the gutters and downspouts the next. They show up on time and clean up as if they were never there. Did I say worry-free? LOL. Now for the actual work; Craftsmen. There is is no others word. Come by my house and just look and the gutters and downspouts ( I know that you're thinking, "This guy is nuts raving about gutters and downspouts!" ). My husband and I are realistic people and realize we will need to replace our roof within the next year. We had wanted to get an estimate in order to start saving for this costly project we would embarking on in the near future. When my husband was at BJs he was approached by PowerHRG and they offered to come to our house for a free estimate for our roof and replacing two of our windows. I did not want much to do with this adventure, as this is usually my husbands domain and I trust the decisions he makes when it comes to home improvements, however, when the salesperson had been in contact with my husband he had asked to make it during a time that we would both be available...the alarm bells should have been going off then! My husband made it for a time when he new I would be home for work, however, I had work to finish for the next day and again wanted my husband to take lead. When the salesperson showed up at our doorstep an hour late for the quick estimate I made my appearance for a bit and left to go back to my work. After my husband had taken the salesman around our house to inspect what needed to be done the salesman asked me to join them in the kitchen to review everything. I begrudgingly complied while I was secretly cringing because it was already 9pm and I still had my work to complete. So to make a long story short, the quick free estimate we thought we were getting was actually a four hour sales pitch. Needless to say, I was impressed with the quality of the products this company has to offer and it seems like their warranties for all their products are an incredible deal and their prices seemed just right. The salesman came with a whole presentation demonstrating how the windows and shingles are made, lets us see and feel the actual products, and displayed how it saves energy using a heated lamp. He even presented us with a powerpoint basically on why we should use the company. It was nicely done and the salesman was very nice, but our free estimate felt more like we were invited to a surprise direct sales party and that night I was in no mood for a direct sales party. Therefore, at 11pm when the salesperson was still in my home trying to coax my husband into purchasing a roof with him that night I was in utter disgust and didn't even want to think about giving this company our business. Now that I was settled down and thinking about all the pros and cons I would say they are still a contender for our roof replacing adventure. I just wish we had known this was going to be more of a sales pitch then an estimate before having the salesman come at 7pm at night. I also wish they could have condensed a lot of their info....I wanted to know how much they were going to charge me and not what Lowes or other companies around the areas will charge me. If we do go ahead and use them I will be back to report our experience. In the meantime, beware before you agree to invite them over for a free estimate and be prepared to give them four hours of your time. read more

Beware when approached by this company for a "free" estimate. A pre-salesperson coming door-to-door finally convinced us to schedule for the same day, with a 3 hour notice. Not much time to do any research. We were clear we did not have a lot of time, and assured it would be quick. When at 7 pm sharp the actual salesman came, he was professional, polite, informative and enthusiastic. The presentation and window measurements took a least 3 hours. Even with my better-than-average knowledge of home improvement costs, I was convinced by the well-produced presentation and clever psychological manipulation that their vinyl windows were far superior to anything anyone else sold anywhere. We were finally presented a price of over $34,000 for 17 double-hung windows, two bays, a plant window and a patio door. My initial reaction was that that was extremely high, and though I asked for an itemization, I never received it, I was just distracted with more numbers and financing options, and guaranteed that no one could beat their prices (they showed some supposed similar invoices from competitors). There was a "today only" option of financing for $422 a month at 9.9% interest for 12 years (that comes to $60,000 in the end!). But the "if we have to come back" price was over $900 a month at 19% financing. This seemed very distasteful, but the explanation seemed logical that the way they can save you money is by not spending a lot of time on estimates. We eventually reluctantly agreed to sign a contract, honestly mostly because the salesperson was so nice, the product seemed great, it was 11 pm and I was exhausted, I thought we could pay off the terrible loan in a year or so with a home equity loan, and there was a three-day cancellation allowance. The next day when more alert, I began to have some regrets that the price was exorbitant. I quickly scheduled some additional estimates with some local reputable companies. Even companies Power claims to be cheaper than gave me better prices on comparable products. We made the decision to instead go with a local company who offered me a price of $26,000 for all windows mentioned above plus an additional bay window, all in composite, a far superior material to the vinyl Power was offering. We contacted Power well with in their 3-day cancellation policy. There is no way to directly contact the salesperson, you get directed to a "cancellation department." A "cancellation specialist" was sent out because they said we needed to sign additional cancellation documents to the ones we faxed in. We took time off work for this. This person turned out to be an aggressive sales manager. In having us answer some survey questions, it was obvious his goal was to throw his salesperson under the bus, but we insisted he was great, it was that we decided we could not afford it, trying to avoid conflict. He said they never get cancellations ever, so it must be something the salesperson did. He then launched into a line of questioning about our finances, wanting to know why we could afford it one day but not the next. His frustration quickly turned to anger when he was not getting the answers he wanted. He implied we were crazy or negligent for not proceeding because our windows are so bad. He insisted we should just do some now. My husband stopped him, said we were done, said this pushy behavior is exactly why we don't want to use the company, and he blurted "even if I could save you tens of thousands of dollars you would not go with us?!" (the job was only tens of thousands to begin with...). At this point my husband told him to get out of our house. He shouted at us on the way out that he might have to fire the salesperson for selling us a job on a house that was in my parents' name (he got permission from someone and it shouldn't matter anyway), implying it was our fault. Turns out, there was no paperwork to sign...The estimate might have been free, but the aggravation definitely was not. read more

These people came knocking on my door a few months ago claiming they were working our neighborhood (no) and telling me we needed new siding (no). The kid was nice but extremely persistent (I'm in sales and still no), I had a squirming toddler in my arms and told him several times we weren't interested. I couldn't get him to leave so I made an appointment, although I had to do it with someone else on the phone which made no sense and then cancelled the next day. Coincidentally, we did need to get our roof replaced and when they called to follow up on rescheduling a month later we were in the middle of getting estimates so I agreed to have them come out. They insisted both my husband and I needed to be present. In reading their responses they claim it's to keep everyone in the loop (it's not). They think they can coerce both homeowners into a deal so one can't talk the other out of it. Made the appointment for 7:30 because my husband has a lengthy commute. Salesman was nice but misread us as Millennials. Not even close. Tried to approach us based on that. I should mention that we have a 4 year old and a one year and as the long winded pitch went on and on I knew where we were headed. $17,000+ for a new roof and skylight replacement. No. $13,000+ if we signed on the spot. Absolutely not. It's now LATE. Screaming baby and all polite social cues to leave are blatantly ignored. He offered to go outside so we can discuss. No, just leave, it's 9:45. He was really trying to wear us down and I wasn't having it. When you have a company in your home giving you a knot in the pit of your stomach you know it's a scam. Told him there's no way we're signing on this job. He left and we've never heard back from him. We needed up getting a complete tear down, full replacement (with the SAME GAF roof he was selling as premium and exclusive to them), 3 brand new skylights and a beautiful job completed in 2 days with perfect clean-up. Drum roll....Cost was $9,500 to a local roofer. Don't fall for this. read more

Avoid these people at all cost. Power HRG is a construction company with offices in a couple of states. If you don't believe my review please look at reviews from other states as well (I'm not sure why it is broken up that way). They promise to come to your house and give you a quick estimate that is good for 1 Year. My wife and I sat with the sale representative at 6:00PM wherein he goes over, in very good detail, their products. They manufacture and construct their own Windows, doors and siding. For roofing they mostly utilize BAF shingles and supplies. To make a long story short at 8:00 PM he finally gets out to look at the roof and tells us of their "very good offer" of $28,000 for my roof and gutters with a simple payment plan of $1000 per month. They did however have a special "one time only" deal of $25,000 if I signed a contract that day. My wife decided at this point to go to bed. We declined the offer and he started stating how (although he could not guarantee the offer) if he spoke with his manager he might be able to offer the work for about $21,000 but that was practically doing the work at cost with no profit. I declined the offer and he stated that he doesn't know how I would leave $3000 on the table. If he were telling his own father he would tell him to accept this incredible deal. He finally left at approximately 9:30. Mind you, I am an engineer by trade. I have managed construction contracts (including roofing) for the past 30 years (I made this clear to the representative). I can purchase all the materials myself at full retail price for approximately $3000 (without gutters). Furthermore,I subsequently received pricing of $7000 and $7500 from other reputable local contractors for the roof and gutters. This company must think that most consumers are idiots. While the presentation was very accurate and detailed (it should be for 3 hours long). Their one year guaranteed proposal of $28,000 is borderline criminal. Their proposal is 3 to 4 times more than other contractors. In addition their guaranteed proposal did not detail ANY of the material that was going to be used. It would be simple to bait and switch and impossible to cross compare proposals since no specifics were on the proposal. This could be addressed if/when a contract was signed but the entire operation is shady. AVOID! AVOID!! AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We were approached at BJ's one day as we were leaving and ended up scheduling an appointment. The rep was very polite and answered our questions. The presentation was quite long. Finally, we were given a price that was good for 1 year. However, when we were debating about moving forward, we were given another price about 2,000 cheaper if we were able to move that day. We moved forward, but probably because our windows were very bad and we really needed to replace them. I'm not saying the windows are not nice and good quality, but now looking back, I didn't like the playing around with the pricing. The crew that came out was excellent. The work was well done, they covered all the floors, and they cleaned up everything as they went along. All in all, we are pleased with the windows. They also provided the best materials and labor. The warrantee is lifetime (50 yrs) for material and labor and it is transferable. Good resale value for your home. Once you get over the sticker shock you realize that in the long run you have actually saved money by purchasing a roof that will undoubtedly last twice as long as any other roof in your neighborhood. we had our picture window replaced. we got a reasonable price and had the job done. they cleaned up and installed the new window. i was very pleased with their work. now this is why i only give them 2 stars. their representative came out later in the day to inspect the work and find out if we were satisfied. now for their "dark" side. their rep said i needed a new roof. he even went so far as to use scare tactics, "your roof will collapse this winter unless replaced." he went into a very long sales pitch. i had to leave shortly and asked for a price. he quoted $28,800. wtf. i told him to please leave and left telling my wife to escort him out. 45 minutes later my wife calls me and says that the rep has lowered the orice to $25,000 if we sign today only. i toild him to leave or will call the police. he left very disgruntled. i called 3 other roofing companies and had the work done for $7,800. another thing i told them i was paying cash for the window. they went ahead and did a credit check without my permission. how they got my ssn # i don't know. this is illegal. read more

2 sales representatives came to my house doing a door-to-door sales pitch. My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to have someone come out and look at the siding at the back of our house. The representative was supposed to come at 5pm, but he did not show up until 7pm. Initially I was not going to let him in the house because I did not know that he was going to be putting on a show. He had a whole production that consisted of showing us the types of materials they use, opposed to other companies. This was all before he went outside to look at the scope of work. He finally went outside with a flash light around 8:30pm. He proceeded to tell us how some of the work done on the new windows we had professionally installed was not done correctly (I should note that we recently moved into our house and had 2 different inspectors say that the windows were done correctly). We did not argue with him there because we just wanted the pitch to be over at that point. He looked at the work that would be needed on the back of our 1200 square foot house and quoted us at $6000 (this includes changing the gutters, etc). My husband negotiated the price down to about $5300, which is still high for one half of a house. We then felt pressured to sign a contract with him on the spot because the deal would "only be good today", as the rep stated. Mind you that it is now 10:15pm and we have to be at work the following morning, which is something that we told the rep but he kept acting as if he did not hear us. Around 10:30 the show finally ended. He spoke to his manager to verify the price but this was only because we stated that we were interested in having solar panels as well. We finally signed the contract and called it a night at 11:00pm when he left!!! Cut to a couple of days later and we have had another company come in to place their bid. This company quoted half of what this company wanted and for the same job. We called the cancelation office and was told that they will have a rep come out to talk with us about canceling. The same sales rep came to our house. This time we did not let him in the house because we did not want to spend hours telling him no and him trying to persuade us into keeping the contract. Before he left he said that we would have to pay a cancelation fee of 15% of the project. We asked him why that is because no work was ever done. We did not have a contractor come out to assess the scope of work or anything. The only thing we did was have the rep come to do the sales pitch. He did not have an answer for us. We will be contacting the BBB about this because we do not see why we would have to pay anything. We also checked the contract and no where did it say that we would have to make a payment for work that was not done. This company is a COMPLETE SCAM!!! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!! I would not want anyone having to sit through the 4 hours of talk and feel the amount of pressure that we felt to work with this company. Please don't do it!! All they want is your money!! read more

They had a small stand at a local BJ's, where a salesman was attempting to sell their services. Not an uncommon practice, but on a weekend while people are rushing to get some shopping done is frustrating. When someone says, "sorry, I have no time I have an appointment". It means, they do not have time for a signup. I was told the appointment setup would take just 2 minutes, and the estimate would be quick and painless. I reluctantly said fine, but I only have 5 minutes. I legit had a party to prepare for, and was doing last minute shopping. Well, it turned into a questionnaire and a phone call to schedule. What was 5 minutes was now a 20+ minute conversation and I was very late. The company called, I had to cancel since I had gotten caught up at work. I said let me call you to reschedule, the person would not take no for an answer. So I gave a date blindly, which ended up with me calling back to cancel that appointment. Only a couple of days later the calls started, one day I was called 3 times the following day same thing, which turned me off completely. I called back and said I'm no longer interested - but they still call. I decided to google this company and found a ton of complaints about the presentation/estimate process and constant marketing calls. After reading all the reviews, I have decided to not use them. This is one of very few reviews I will leave where no services were rendered, however I am seeing a huge spike in this type of behavior with aggressive calling campaigns and in-store pushes for estimates or sign-ups. We had our roof redone by Power Home Remodeling. Found them to be very professional and prompt. A bit pricey but was convinced by the representative just by the quality of the products and non-prorated warranty. Felt they could have done a better job on the clean up after removing the roll off dumpster. Found a lot of nails on our driveway. Otherwise a good job, would recommend them to friends and family. read more
