Being in sales myself I can easily spot who is in it just to turn a profit vs actually help their customers. He promptly hung up on me (showing his true colors) - his rudeness motivated me to write a negative review - otherwise I would have just moved on. Read the negative reviews and you will see they are grossly overcharging people, using low quality products, low quality work, and the amazing warranty is just words ... they don't actually stand behind it and don't actually fulfill warranty claims. Power came to my home in Jan/Feb 2020 and did a sales pitch after a wind storm (so I'm late on this). We just so happened to need our roof replaced due to the recent event as well as Harvey and other storms, so we listened. Their pitch is that the roofers who work for them and on your home are like no other! They will protect your property by essentially making tents which extend over the side of your home so no nails or debris fall into your gardening, yard, or AC unit. Their guys will wear safety gear like a harness or hardhat as well. We will get a 50 year transferrable warranty in case we move, the warranty goes to the new owners. As someone who had just started working in HSE I found the "safety" portion of their pitch intriguing and we liked the warranty idea so we agreed. On the day of the work I tuned in using my home security cams and asked my hubby to take some pics - none of that safety stuff was happening. No protection around my house and just some loosely strewn tarps on the ground. So don't buy that BS line. I called the guy who managed the work itself and complained since even our AC unit was left uncovered so crap could fall into it! So all of their stuff about protecting your home is a blatant LIE! They finally leaned a wood slat against the AC until and draped a tarp over it - far from the big tent they show you in the sales pitch! They guys on the roof were NOT wearing harnesses - until I asked them why. I was a real Karen, but talk me up and sell yourself at a premium and then don't deliver. I really felt they owed me money with all the trash they left in my yard. I would have given them a 3 if it weren't for my most recent interaction with their company. I was recently called by one of their sales guys. He asked what we were looking to do with our home next and I answered honestly - "move out". He laughed and said he understood, but that they have a great deal for return customers on siding and windows. I said that was nice, but we aren't interested. He then lapsed right back into his sales and I once again said we weren't going to get siding or doors since we want to move and we'd rather save our money for a down payment on a new home. Here is where it just gets creepy. His reply? "Haha.. yeah, that's great. Well these offers won't be found on any quote you get online so we have to go by your house. I'm sure you'll want new windows and siding. So when would be best, morning or afternoon? What time should we show up?" I could have hung up on him, but instead I asked him why I should want to buy from someone who has ignored me saying 'no thanks' twice and basically what kind of wacko does this? And his reply in true sociopathic fashion was "well thanks for time and have a nice day". What a creep! I won't be doing business with this company again after having this jerk call me and disrespect me this way. Plus, I don't want anyone that creepy near my home - I might have to call the cops to have him removed or he may try to move into a room until I say yes to his sales "advances". We had a Power solicitor come to our driveway while we were outside. My husband and I were talking about updating windows so we setup an appt. Next day, a personable Daniel shows up, very professional and thorough, with a Scottish accent. We had plans that evening, and we thought the process should reasonable only take a few hours. This went from 2PM to almost 9. The 1st red flag: He said on his paper he was there for windows and roof. Uhh... roof? .. Well, the roof will be on the list eventually.. Power folk force you to sit through a boring power point showing you their business model, attempting to convince you they are the shiznit when it comes to roofing/windows. If you attempt to go "off-script" with questions, you're repeatedly told to sit and wait until it's finished. Daniel presented himself as a decent enough guy, but it was clear he was drinking some serious Koolaid with Power. It sounded like a great company, don't get me wrong, he sold it pretty well. But after having worked for similar Hoo-ha/Gung-ho companies, myself in the past, I know how the cheese is made. Predatory/exploitative sales technique wrapped in the pretty "It's about the peoples!" company model. We FINALLY got to the estimate, which ended up being very high for our home we later learned. Though not as bad as estimates out by Power to other reviewers. It seems they start as high as they think they can based on the customer's resistance. We were given a ton of bad news. Interestingly, he was happy to focus on windows, but when we expressed concern about what he had said about the roof, which sounded urgent, he quickly did an about-face selling us on the roof, letting us know he personally would only give our roof 3 months to live I later tell my husband. He pressed it could not wait another second and we must do this today. Us, not so much. This "estimate" having gone later than we wanted and ruining our evening plans, we weren't having that. He started to make it very personal, which in retrospect, some of it was also very predatory and crossing the line. Like this line: "Yeah, but a car is not as important as a roof!". There was guilt-tripping mixed in with him with faux concern after having gotten to "know us" in the hours he'd spent there. I later read online that Power reps often stay for long hours to get the sale. The worst is their pricing scheme: The "today only" pricing and the price good for a year. A price difference of $10K. Immediately I thought this was ridiculous and this infuriated me greatly. I had actually gotten heated with Daniel at one point stating my absolute disgust for this "business" model, as it was clearly predatory to expect an immediate signature for such a sudden report. He convinced us into doing the front windows, but we were going to get a second opinion on the roof. Admittedly I'd wanted the front windows done (and so did my husband), but only because he let us know... though he'd be in super dooper trouble with his manager if he told us... we have THREE DAYS to back out thanks to Texas law. (It says it on the contract. Psst don't tell) The kicker was the "sapping" he was so OTT about on the roof raftors. I did not find a single article or recommendation where anyone thought it was remotely an issue. Nothing. No fake news websites about sap & roof raftors even and sudden roof failures. Basically, wipe it off if you want... done. We had "cracks" in one or two raftors, but after looking ourselves, these were hairline and we later learned something simple carpentry could fix if needed. Either I fix myself or hire a handyman for the price of some wood, hardware, time&labor... done. I called them the next morning @ open and cancelled. That surprisingly was the smoothest. (It might have helped that I told them I was recording the phone call). They gave me a cancellation ID right away, no questions, just "ok, it's cancelled". They didn't want to give me anything in writing, so I pressured THEM to push me over to cancellation so I can at least get an email, fax, something in writing. I made sure I actually received that email before I even hung up. We did sign the cancellation notice that is left with the contract by state law and it's now happily on it's way via Certified Mail. After reading yelp and other ppl with worse stories than mine, I wouldn't trust them. I feel like if you have a good product, then these predatory techniques are not necessary at all. They have their corporate BS for why they do the "today only". Yeah, that's just corporate koolaid. On the Texas Attorney of General website on the "Door-to-Door Sales & 3-Day Right of Rescission" page, it says explicitly says towards the bottom... "Don't be pushed into signing a contract or giving your money to a salesperson unless you're sure you want the product. Take time to think about it. You should consider doing some comparison shopping." Will be my last experience with this company or any door-to-door folk for that matter. read more

Don't waste your time on this absolute scam of a service company like I did. I was referred to them by the Sam's Club Home Remodel concierge after they stopped me and offered a free quote on home repairs and upgrades. They gave me their concierge number to set an appointment for them to come out and give us a quote on installing gutters in our area. I called and Sam's Club confirmed service in my area. They connected me to this company, and they confirmed service in my area. They allocate someone who is coming out and told me that he'd be there at 11am and he'd call around 9am to confirm. This morning, the rep called and confirmed with my wife, saying he might be a little late. 11am passed. Then quarter after, 11:30, 11:45... we finally called back just before noon to figure out where he was. The guy on the phone informed me that he wouldn't be coming out because they didn't do siding in our area. I reminded him that we asked about gutters and never cared about siding. He said that since they couldn't quote us on the additional service that we didn't want or need, they weren't going to even come out to do the service we asked about. They literally no-called, no-showed, didn't give any advance warning, waited for us to call them, and then gave us an explanation that was completely contradictory to three separate conversations we'd had regarding their company earlier in the week. I'm searching for a company that actually cares about their customers to do the work we need done. read more

We were supposed to have a free estimate at 11 in the morning for rain gutters. When they called and confirmed, I thought all was well. Then they cancel on us, because if they couldn't do a siding quote, they wouldn't bother with the rain gutters! It gets more ridiculous, because when we called to see what happened, we're told they had to cancel, because they weren't in our region and claimed a voicemail was left. A lie. Do they want business or not? If you only want to provide multiple quotes in specific regions, cause of some invisible HGTV mafia, then be upfront about it. I mean this us just the estimate. Just be careful, or better yet choose someone that actually knows what part of town they can work in. read more

January 26th. Tornado hit my house in Houston. Called for a claim on the 29th. They just installed my windows not even 4 months prior. Two windows broke during the "acts of god" happen. Supposedly warranty doesn't cover "acts of god" whatever that means. 4 months later my windows are still broken Power keeps saying "we don't have a update. We can't give a answer" for a company that has almost 5 stars on google sure is a horrible customer service and horrible company. Please don't do business with this money hungry over prized company. If I can give these people a zero I would. If these people EVER stop by your house to offer an estimate, don't open your door. A young lady stopped by my house in early July offering free estimates. I told her SEVERAL times I was busy and that even if I did consider an estimate it would be more than a year before I would consider their services (if need) Some how she held me at my door for about 15 minutes. I told her I would have to check my schedule and get back with them. She convinced me to give her my number and I considered a "tentative" date for the upcoming Saturday. I told her I couldn't commit because my time was unpredictable. She persisted in questioning me to the point I had to tell her that she was getting at bit personable with asking me when, where and whom about my time and who would be at my home. However I told her to just CALL ME and if I'm home I would consider letting them stop by. She SPECIFICALLY told me if on the day they are scheduled to come out if I don't answer then they will not show. Remember I said this was EARLY July....today is October 20, 2020 and this company has called me 31 times. Some days up to 3 times a day. I blocked them back in July but can still see on my phone their incoming calls. I actually believe its more than 31 times but going by what is current on my phone it shows 31 times. I have thought about calling them to take me off their list but I had no idea that months later these people would still be dialing my number read more

Got to give a shout out to the guy who sold us our new windows, Daniel! First off, the windows have not yet been installed so I'll add another review for those next month. But we loved the look and construction. Daniel even drove us to a couple of other houses in our neighborhood to see jobs that were already completed. We have met with 3 different levels of representatives from this company and all have been very nice, professional, knowledgeable, and extremely easy to chat to for hours. I had my new windows installed in December 2019 . During a stormy day last week, I noticed some leaking at the top of my front window. I contacted Power Home Remodeling and received a response within 24 hours. Kyle was assigned the job and came by earlier than expected (he did call first to see if we would be here). Ok so, everything was fine until my husband came home n checked on their work. He pointed out so many things wrong with it as compared to our "other" new windows from Home Depot. He said they used a really thick piece of plastic frame around the windows which made our thousands of dollars windows looked cheap. There r also imperfections and one window was really tilted n crooked. One of the metal frames on our house was damaged. One of our windows got a long scratch on it, they said they would reorder it and come back to replace it within a few weeks. It should not take long at all since they're just gonna snap the window in. Guess what? That was on the day that I wrote my original review.. I believe that was THREE months ago. We were very understanding about the fact that it's the pandemic n they're busy. That's fine... BUT, they've set appointments after appointments. Only to rescheduled ON THE DAY OF! Do I look like I have all the time in the world for them to do this to me? Ok, maybe I do have all the time in the world since I'm a stay at home mom but still.. u don't do that to ur clients. After about 2 months, our appointment was at 10am, I didn't even care to expect them to show up, but someone actually showed up that day, AT 4PM, UNANNOUNCED, when I left to go to the store. My daughter said she opened the door for them, but they were just there to take measurements. I'm like really? Don't u already HAVE the measurements since u made the windows before? I didn't understand the point of that visit since I wasn't home. I wasn't going to write this review for them even though I felt like I was forced into giving them the 5star before. The "manager" literally sat in front of me and asked me to write a yelp review for them while he sat there n wait n told me to show it to him so he can take a picture of it when I'm done. Although he said I could write whatever I liked, who would be comfortable enough to give anything less than 5star when put on the spot like that. Anyways, after 3 months and countless rescheduling, it made me more upset that I gave them a 5star review when the windows r not as great as they seemed. (after my husband pointed out the flaws) and although I couldn't care less about replacing the window with a minor scratch, but when u paid thousands of dollars for something, u should expect to get what u paid for. Everyone involved with my project was knowledgeable, professional and wonderfully communicative! Bottom line up front: If you are looking for new windows or doors, I HIGHLY suggest you shop around with at least three local window/door companies to compare against PHR. I guarantee you will get better value elsewhere and spend less time doing so. After a visit from a door-to-door salesman, we accepted a free estimate from PHR. The salesman visited for 3 hours to explain their window technology and take measurements. Not knowing much at the time about windows, we thought the prices were reasonable. We had two, large picture windows replaced last Thursday. The "Quality Control" manager came during installation to check on the windows but primarily to sell us more windows. He used what I would refer to as a high pressure sales tactic by telling us that to get the rest of the windows done would be (for example) $40k, but if we signed now for any amount of windows it would lock in this new lower price of $30k for the next 3 years. We signed up for two more windows as we wanted to lock in the price without committing to tens of thousands of dollars. That weekend, I received a free estimate back from another highly rated local window company to replace all the windows in the house for 1/3 of the price PHR wanted! Based on that and other research regarding window quality and pricing, we cancelled our next order within the 3 day right of rescission period. To comment on quality, I understand windows come with different features and prices. PHR windows are definitely not top-tier as they still use a metallic (stainless steel) spacer between the panes. All top tier windows now use non-metallic spacers to reduce thermal conductivity. The installation went fine, although some of the drill holes in the frames could have been cleaned up. Overall, do your research and compare the window features and prices. Chances are you will be substantially overpaying for PHR. We are lucky we learned an expensive lesson on only two windows as it could have been much worse. read more

This group was canvassing our neighborhood a few years ago and I see they still use the same tactics. They stay at your house for hours saying they're waiting for the quote from their manager. This told me they basically didn't want to give you time to get other quotes. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get multiple quotes for home repair. They offer you a one time deal if you sign at that moment. The next day the price goes up. If that isn't a red flag I don't know what is. Pressure tactics and WAY over priced. They told us our attic would catch fire if we didn't have them out to put in radiant barrier for $10k. That sounded strange because I live in HOT Texas where it's hot every year and I have NEVER heard of someone's attic catching fire. I got quotes the next day for under $5k. Way over priced. Do your own research and get quotes before committing under high pressure. read more

As someone that has been in the homebuilding industry for over 15 years, I felt the need to write a review that boasts the outstanding service and products that I recently received. About 3 months ago I moved back home to find that my little brother had not taken the best care of my house. I decided that I would update my house starting with the front door. I started to research remodeling companies looking for one that I could trust and would fit within my budget. After narrowing it down to two, I contacted them both to set up an appointment with each company. The main reasons why I chose Power Home Remodeling were: - The free in-home consultation (some companies wanted to charge me $100 to come give me an estimate that would be credited to me if I moved forward with them) - I was offered an affordable finance option - They were able to quickly provide me pricing on several options I was interested in on their iPad - Transferable Lifetime Warranty on the door I've always dreamt of a fancy full glass wrought iron door but didn't really think I could afford it. Little did I know that they could do it for way less than I had thought! After I picked my door and opted for the digital entry, everything was smooth sailing after that. About a week later, Power contacted me to set up an install date that I chose. On the day of install, I was contacted by the project manager to inform me that the installers would be on time and let me know it would take about 4 hours. Sure enough, the installers arrived exactly 10 minutes early and started promptly. About 3.5 hours later they were done installing and then helped me program my new digital entry system. They even disposed of my old door for me at no cost to me. I really felt that they went over and beyond throughout and because of this awesome experience I am definitely going to have Power do more work on my house! read more

A very nice gentleman came by our house to say they were in our neighborhood doing work (which i highly doubt in hindsight) and offered to do a free quote on our windows. He said it would take an hour and scheduled us for the next day. The good things stop there. The sales person was prompt, began his presentation, and then took measurements. After an hour and a half, during which he had already completed the measurements, he wanted to sit back down and continue talking about the quality of the windows and showing "experiments" to prove what great quality they were. At this point, it was 8pm and our dinner had been sitting on warm in the oven for too long. We asked him to wrap it up and share the quote. He proceeded to not talk any faster or change anything. At 8:30pm after TWO HOURS and it being dark out, we politely told him he was going to have to leave. He started to get rude, indignant about the situation, and refused to share the quote on the windows since we "didn't respect our time". We were so taken aback and honestly shocked after we had already invested two hours with them. In no way would we ever want to do business with this rude company. To top it off, they never even contacted us to remediate the situation the following day. I have no respect for them. To top it off, i learned during the two hours that their window product is actually very limited. They didn't have a window option for us for some of the smaller windows and also their windows are so thick and inset in placement that it was not compatible with the plantation shutters.
