Yesterday, my boyfriend was at our house to pick up mail. A man came up to him and said he was from Powers Home Remodeling and was in the area to give estimates on windows and siding and asked if he was interested. He asked where Powers was located and was told Wilton, Ct, our home is in Fishkill, NY. Since we are thinking of doing some work on the house, he scheduled an appointment for 10 am this morning (3/16/2018). We drove the 10 minutes to the house, sat in the driveway for almost 20 minutes and no one showed up. We looked up their number and called to see if anyone was going to show up and were told someone had tried to call to reschedule. We had a great experience from beginning to end. Came home to beautiful gutters. I immediately noticed the quality of the gutters. Workers were amazing. They answered all questions and addressed any problems we might have had. Will recommend to family and friends. Will definitely use them for our roof and windows in the future read more

I would love to give this contractor group a review based on their skill as a remodeling service, but unfortunately, I couldn't even get them to come to my home for a quote! I called and spoke to someone about quotes on a home remodel for basically ALL of their services. The appointment was then made for the following afternoon. I received a confirmation call later that same afternoon for the appointment. I then received a 2nd confirmation call the next morning prior to the afternoon appointment. I then received a 3rd call (voicemail left) moments later, canceling the appointment saying they were "overbooked" in my town. It was laughable that they would be "overbooked" in my small town, but I decided to return their call in an attempt to reschedule. I was told during that call, that the people who make the appointments (and those that confirm the appointments) don't actually know the schedule of the person who will be coming to do the consultation! Finally, I was told, that THEY would call me back in a "few weeks" to reschedule! Thanks, but no thanks! read more

Do not appreciate the tons of phone calls all day and especially at night! I never gave your company permission to call me nor the sales company you seem to be using to make your sales calls. All the negative reviews about the sales process are spot on. The only thing I will add is that the sales rep spoke at length (4 hours) about the roof, siding and gutter replacement and only left behind a quote with no details. The quote for what I stated including a moderate split level and large free standing garage was over $100,000! You can find other quality contractors at a MUCH more reasonable price. I also called the company on the next business day and told the person that I was only left with just a quote with no details. I was told to go to their website where I was assured all the details about a new roof installation was there, and guess what, no details. So, the net-net is that we wasted half of our Saturday which was VERY disrespectful of our time. read more

Such a poorly run organization, if I could give zero stars to this I would. Our entire home needed new windows, 11 upstairs and 11 downstairs. We split the project up and were doing 11 upstairs this winter and 11 downstairs in the spring. We will not be moving forward with the downstairs windows now based upon our experience. We will find another source. Our install for the windows upstairs was scheduled for Monday for 11 windows. The installers showed up with 9. We were told by our sales rep that the contractors on site would be power home employees but come to find out they are actually contractors they sub out, not actual employees of power home. A huge selling point by the sales rep was that they were "power home employees not random guys," which was obviously a lie. My husband and I had to stay home from work for this install only to have to reschedule another install for the following Friday since they couldn't complete the project due to the window shortage. We had a quality assurance rep show up at our home to "check on the install" but instead he walked through our home and tried pointing out several other areas we should be improving trying to make us drop another $11K. He was then very insistent on us giving him a 5 star review on google while he was there so he could take a picture of it, which is just completely inappropriate. He even mentioned how important these reviews were since their Yelp reviews are so terrible. My husband and I regret not checking here before we purchased the windows. On Friday my husband takes a half day from work to complete the install that was scheduled for 1 pm. We then get a call from power home at 9 am stating they'd be at our house at 1030 am, no where close to the time our quality assurance rep told us, which again would mess up our entire work day. My husband explains the time mix up and they state they'd move some things around and get back to us. They then called back and said they would come at 1 pm. At 2 pm the power home contractors still haven't arrived. At 330 pm they cancelled entirely. Again, we missed a half day of work for this install. Customer service is completely useless and the most we've received is an apology. The company seems to be run by teenagers. My suggestion to anyone would be to steer clear of this company. Read some of the yelp reviews if you are unsure. I will not be recommending their business to anyone. You're better off buying from a well known source like Anderson. Power installed new windows in my bedroom. I have a large bedroom with 8 windows. Two normal and 6 speciality sized individual bay type windows. Pros: The sales people are friendly and the installers were efficient. Cons: I could not get anyone to call me back about adding windows to my order. Numerous people called but no one followed up with my enquiry. The installers did not put down any drop clothes and one of the windows cracked. They vacuumed the glass but never put down any protection for any other windows. I am using them again to install 4 more windows so I would recommend them. read more

I have only one thing to thank this company for, and unfortunately, I had to pay almost $6K for it. I learned a valueable lesson in who not to do business with. Not only will I NEVER do business with, OR recommend this company to anyone, I will avoid companies that follow the protocol I had to experience. To be honest, I have so many negative things to share, I don't really know where to start, but for the sake of efficiency and the reader's, I'll abbreviate them. 1. Pushy. All except for the install guys. 2. "Double tongued" (Pronounced - "Lie-ers"). They will tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign the dotted line. Once they leave, you'll never see them again anyway, so they next person will tell you the way things really are, once it is too late to do anything about it. 3. Dealing with different people every time (above). Keeps the homeowner off balanced and more susceptible to Power's tactics. 4. Willing to take shortcuts. Fortunately we refused to let them put trim around the trim around our window to cover up paint lines. "Just put a board over it" is what they said to my wife. 5. Time consuming. The sales pitch (see other reviewers for details). The whole process. The list goes on... leaving us with a feeling of regret and being financially abused. My recommendation: Avoid this company. I just hired Power Home Remodeling to replace all the gutters and downspouts, and to replace 5 windows on the house. One crew of two men came out on time on the day we agreed upon. They were courteous, efficient, and hard workers. A few days later a second crew of two men came out to replace the windows. Again, they were equal to the first crew. Note: two different days because the men are proficient in their particular areas. NO money was exchanged until that last visit. NO deposit- nothing until ALL work was completed. I don't know who previous raters worked with, but this company did not ask for any money prior to the work. I was extremely happy with this company and its workers. All of the salespeople with whom I dealt were friendly and cooperative. Another positive that I can tell you is this company registered with the town. Our police department posts on Facebook when a particular company will be knocking on doors and walking through neighborhoods. This company did what most do not. Kudos. I want my time back. No matter how many times I told the guy to shorten his sales pitch and get to the point, he couldn't do it. He was so scripted. No one wants someone at their house giving them an estimate for a roof for 2 hrs!! And their price was insane. Plus the gimmicky approach to offering a discount if you sign today. He ultimately gave me a price that was $12,000 less than his starting price. That is disgusting. We had a new roof,(remove old shingles,cut in vent system,new shingles with ridge vent and new aluminum window molding.Two problems,shingles don't all lay flat and when gutter guard was re-installed ,it was probably done wrong because during medium to heavy rain we can not use our rear door due to cascading water. We made two calls with complaints the first of which was followed up,the second was not.We are very disappointed after spending at least $4000. more than we should have.With their automated telephone system I cannot tell if they have tried to call because I have a robocall blocking system.Sorry I ever let them on my property. read more

This is just based on our experience yesterday with Power Home Remodeling~ They spent 3 hours at our house ( first 30m wasted with small talk) then they were really nice showing us problems with the doors and windows. Finally sit down to go over prices~ Each window was priced at $1200 For a bay window we were thinking about $8500 Front door~ $6500 They offered to throw in our deck slider for free~ Total amount they offered~ $25,000~ year of monthly payments~ $877 a month Wow! Way to much for us to ever afford, then they say today only price~$21,000 Okay still can't afford that! Then they started to get very pushy and aggravated at us. Kept trying to lower the price but cutting windows out of the work~ We told them we are not in a position to afford their products~ they got mad, started making us feel like we were putting our children in danger. They claim they will leave you with all measurements and price quotes~ they guy took the original paper~ filled out a new one with 1/2 the measurements and his hand writing was so sloppy you can't read them. Horrible sales men. I wish the company would call for a follow up, I would love to give them a piece of my mind. Do not ever let them come to your house!!! read more

I'm willing to bet a lot of money that Power has someone in the office creating Gmail accounts and posting 5-star reviews on google. Yelp has a more representative sample of what actually going on. For those who actually used them, you idiots all paid 3X for whatever work you did!!! I'm sure the jobs were done great but still, you overpaid by a lot and could have gotten the same quality work and material elsewhere. Someone was walking neighborhoods trying to schedule roofing estimates... I was told it was a no pressure estimate with a 1-year price lock... again the key was no pressure so I agreed... the next day then guys arrived for an estimate as scheduled at 7 pm... Nice guys and they did a good job as sales staff. They spoke about the company, did an inspection in the attic and showed me their roofing system... it was about 9 pm at this point. Then came the fun part... pricing... The entire roof system for about $36K grand included the roof, attic insulation, and gutters. Just the roof (1600 Sq ft roof) for $23,000. That's the 1 year lock in the price number. Then came the RIGHT NOW PRESSURES ON PRICE of $28K for the entire system or $18K for just the roofing. "We have to go make a phone call and will be right back" Meaning you guys should talk about it awhile we go hang out outside. (Note - to get an estimate your wife or partner must be present - now I get why. They hope for a heated discussion between the two of us... Unfortunately we are both smarter than power home improvement and simply laughed when they went outside). It's now 10 pm. They came back with better pricing with some "programs" like "before and after pictures", then "snapshot of utility bills", and some other bogus program to make it sound like a better deal was coming... and the price dropped a few grand...Back outside for another phone call (claim they talked with the boss but really, at 10:15 pm, they were talking to each other, and again we laughed at them inside)... it's now 1030PM... They came back and asked, "so what do you want to do"... I said take your pricing and call you about it"... I can see they weren't happy and proceeded to tell me they canceled 10 estimates to come here and could have lost a $70K job... this is the feel bad tactic they pull at the end of the day...at this point my wife went to bed and they asked me to wake her up to get her decision!! REALLY GUYS??? I told them "I'm now kicking you out". It was 1045 pm... the estimate should have taken about 1 hour not almost 4. This seemed more like a MLM sales pitch towards the end. I can see how this company is in business, people who use them are just stupid and have money to throw around without actually doing any price comparisons... sure the product is better than most but not double or triple... got 2 other quotes for $6800p and $7600. I'm sure they do a great job but again, is it worth 2 or 3 times the price? Probably not! Bottom line.... call someone else for less BS and save yourself the trouble..or know what you're getting into so you can tell them not to bother. I'll be calling them back at some point for that RIGHT NOW price for down the road, and I'll tell them what I want to pay for it... send the pressure right back to them and see if they bite, if not I got better options anyhow.. and none of them are price staggering. ------- Its worth mentioning that I had my roof completed for $6,700 in November 2017... I had Lowes do it and I have no complaints. They were in and out in 2 days. They had the cheapest price and the best warranty/guarantee. Totally bummed I spent 10,000 on my windows they are super drafty!!!!!!!! How can I possibly have more air leaking then when I had single pane windows thanks a lot power windows for totally making me feel like I was taken advantage of! They have tried to come back to fix this problem 3x so far and each time they leave they are still leaking air!!! Made an appointment for today and gave my cell #. I don't answer my cell at work and they called 4 times but left no voice mail. He kept saying, "your husband made the appointment" to my " well I am not cancelling it", kept talking over me and when I said to stop calling, he actually had the gall to say, he will call back in a few weeks to reschedule. I was home from work with a migraine headache when I heard a knock at the front door. I ignored it, but the person continued to knock and ring the doorbell. Thinking a neighbor might need something, I forced myself out of bed and went to the door. It was a Power Home Remodeling Group salesman. He said he was in the neighborhood and wanted to give me some information about his company. (As he was talking, I saw another salesman walk down the street, so they must have been making the rounds.) He asked me a bunch of questions (name, year of house, age of roof, etc.). Then, he handed me his phone so a coworker could talk to me. The coworker asked me all the same questions (name, year of house, age of roof, etc.). After returning the phone, I told him I wasn't feeling well and had to go. He apologized and said he only needed one more minute of my time. He then asked me a bunch of other questions (How long have we lived at the house?, Where did we live before moving to the neighborhood?, Isn't this a beautiful area?, etc.). Again, he handed me his phone, and his coworker asked me more questions. This went on and on for about half an hour, though I said many times that I had to go and I wasn't interested in having any work done to the roof. They both tried to get me to agree to meet with them the next day so they could take measurements to give me a cost estimate to replace the roof. I felt harassed and intimidated. I don't know why I didn't just shut the door on him. Good thing I refused to agree to a follow-on meeting and to give him my phone number. What a horrible company. What terrible people. read more

Had a young man from this company come to my house today. Said they were doing a roof for a neighbor and I pointed out that I had a new roof. He said they also do windows. I pointed out that I had new windows. He said that my picture window had moisture and he could give me a quote to get that fixed. I told him that I had no money for home improvement at this time and didn't want a quote. He pointed out that it was a free quote. This exchange went on and on until I said look I am not interested in a quote at this time to which he responded did I want my window to break. I asked him if that was how they got customers by strong arming them to which he yelled to an associate so now we strong arm people and that he didn't have any problem with any of my neighbors and that he hopes my window breaks. I came inside and called the company to inform them of this exchange and suggest that this individual be retrained. I was told that they are trained to not take no for an answer and that he would have a hard time even knowing who this was. I said really you have a bigger problem as a company if don't even know where your people are marketing today and gave him my address. When I suggested that perhaps they don't know what is happening in someone's life and perhaps should leave a card for possible future business I was told they can't leave cards with everyone.I will NEVER do business with this company. read more

Since my first review was deleted. After speaking with a sales rep from BJ's. We had an appointment for insulation in the attic. He spent all day at our home. Telling us items that were NOT needed. His estimate included way more than insulation like roofing, gutters, vents etc. which are 2 or 3 years old. Also the estimate had no cost for the materials and or labor. I would like to know where he got this crazy and outrageous price from? We have family and friends in the contracting business they were shocked and told us to seek somewhere else fast. It was such a scam. Also we had pictures of our "poor condition" attic, which turned out to be fine. Maybe minor repairs would be needed that we can do ourselves. We will gladly call someone else. The salesman wouldn't give up either and spent all day at our home. He kept pressuring us to sign that same day telling us we will save money . That's why they need both owners home. Their price was 3-5x higher than the normal price. Stay away from this company they scam couples. They are very pushy. We will be contacting someone local who we trust. No one should make you sign a contract the same day. Plus ask for your credit score. They offer lifetime warranty. Red flag! Whose lifetime? Make sure you do your own research. read more

Overall, our experience was great. As with any large project, there were a few issues throughout the process but all were handled in a timely and professional manner. Our Project Manager, Installers and other members of customer service were punctual, knowledgable and professional. We did siding and are very pleased with the product and results. Yes, the sales portion of the process is lengthy and it should be, this is a big decision! I would recomend taking the time and giving them the opportunity to improve your home. Do not use power unless you want a world of headaches. Where do I even begin, first off we had our estimate done for windows and doors and decided to just go through with changing our front door out to see if we would want to work with them again for the bigger project our windows. After the experience of getting our door done you couldn't pay me to use them for a future project. When we had our inroad consultation we were told everything is done so there's no mess or clean up for you we come in it takes a flare hours we leave and you're done no problem. So we schedule our installation date and confirm with our "project manager" who dropped off the door and we never saw him again, crew comes in takes out the old door puts in the new one hands us a piece of paper to dig. And leaves. After further inspection of the door and the days to come we realized there were flaws in the glass and the door was not hung right and we could literally see sunlight coming through, also the crew ripped dry walking and left huge gaps around the door and frame. We get in touch with our project manager and don't hear from him for 2 days. When we do finally hear from him he comes to do the final inspection and stress there were flaws in the installation and product. A new piece of glass was ordered and a new installation date was set. In the meantime we get a bill, powers whole thing is you won't get billed until you're 100% satisfied. We called up customer service and basically said well you signed that magic piece of paper the crew gave you and you have to pay now sorry, oh and because we didn't hear back from our project manager until 15 days after he couldn't put in the dispute for us, weird how 2 days went by and then we heard from him but whatever. So now today we're supposed to get our new glass put in and they never put through the color change when we had our final consultation so we still have an incomplete project and they're expecting their first payment next month. Well I will be sure to tell everyone I know that power is a complete joke, your business model and practice is completely shady, your products come with flaws and are not installed correctly and your can't even get them fixed properly. I cannot stress to you enough do not fall into the power trap I wish I went to Home Depot and got just a nice door for half the price I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "COMPANY" AGAIN! read more

Power is not efficient or reliable, From the installation crew, customer service, and service men. I had a large job of over 20+ windows, a sliding door, bow window, front door installation and attic insulation 6years ago and have had both by front door and now bow window reinstalled 2 times each for leaks and Alignments. Not to mention I initially ordered a bay window but they installed a bow and cut my window seat by half. When you call to complain/service (which is 7 times for me) they stand behind their product and say its an installation issue not a product issue. The service person comes to fix "the problem" but isn't 100% informed of the issue the day of the appointment. It's like they all don't communicate to one another and point fingers at the next department. The one good thing is that I have a lifetime warranty that I unfortunately will be using yearly. Well, I will now just add one more bad review to the collection of those at YELP. My wife was approached at BJ's and with their pushy sales techniques they got our address and came to give us a roof estimate. After SEVERAL calls, they convinced us to get an estimate. I will fast forward to the HORRENDOUS costumer service we received today. After almost two hours at our house, the sales representative gave us an estimate to somewhat basic thing in our roof. We felt this was not the right time to do it, based on our personal life, which by the way is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. The guy did not take no for an answer and moved on to question why we couldn't make a decision today, trying to strong arm us. We said no - he moved to say: "What's gonna change in your life? What's wrong with you? You don't want free money?". Bottom line: It doesn't matter why we said no. please leave us the freedom to come back to you at some time. The guy started to get heated and I then decided to ask him to leave. Voices were pretty loud, bringing my wife from the upstairs to presence the absolutely absurd exit of this salesman. He called me a "baby" for not wanting to do the works and while I opened the door escorting him out he proceeds to say "You should get your balls and go home!". EXCUSE ME? Am I really being offended by this company inside my own home?! I wish I had time to call the cops, and I will research ways to SUE you. If they ever step in my door again, I will call the police. DO NOT TAKE THEIR PHONE CALLS, IF YOU SEE THEM SAY NO AND SHUT THE DOOR! I see there is someone that answers to some of this reviews...I am just really curious to see what kind of excuse you have to a costumer service that tells you to "get your balls and go home". Two of their salesmen showed up at my Mother's house yesterday and tried to talk her into $37,000 dollars of repairs. Originally set up an estimate at BJ's for 12 large windows that needed 24 double hung and a large picture, roofing and insulation and they scheduled me a few weeks out, never showed up. I called to reschedule and they told me they don't reschedule appointments I needed to wait until someone in that department called me. Waited...I called back and rescheduled and once agin I sat home all day waiting for a crew to show and at 6pm got a call that no one was coming. It took over a month and half to finally get someone on the phone to reschedule after numerous messages. Can you guess what happened? I got the confirmation call and not even 30 seconds after hanging up they called and said they were over booked and can reschedule in a few weeks. It took months to schedule an appointment and three times they did not show up and twice canceled last minute after making me sit home all day. This business is a joke and their customer service is severely lacking. I received 3 other estimates promptly and effortlessly from other companies which we will be booking with. Due to the nature of our conversations and the questions they asked I feel as if they thought this job wasn't worth keeping on the schedule because of monetary value and that they might pick and choose the jobs based on probable value before even going out to the site. read more
