In 2019: Power HRG did a professional job installing vinyl shingle siding on my house in a MA coastal community. The product to be used was presented during the contract process as a Royal brand vinyl shingle, which has a superior warranty. l researched this product by talking with Royal Customer Service and going to see and feel two houses nearby that the sales man said were shingled with the Royal product. Some research mentioned that the quality of a product can be judged by the quality of the warranty. The Royal warranty covers everything short of acts of God or Wars. In July,2024 l noted that the panels in certain areas were fading. After being passed along from service agent to service agent, l filed a filed a claim to be submitted to Royal by Power HRG. l was curious about the unusual fading power and l was given the name of the local distributor. l called the local distributor and was told that Royal did not make a product called "Cedar Chateau". No manufacturer has ever made a product called "Cedar Chateau". I questioned the "Remodeling Consultant". He told me not to worry...siding manufacturers are like paint manufacturers, "they change the name of their products all the time, but it is the same." In fact, Power ordered and installed " Roughsawn Cedar Single Course" manufactured by Tando. I learned that the cost is similar, but the warranty is inferior to the Royal Warrant. Further, " Rough Sawn Cedar " is not appropriate for coastal settings. Tando has a more suitable product called "Beach House". The warranty to that product is also inferior to the Royal warranty. Without a mutually signed change order not only did we not get a Royal product, the model listed in the Specifications agreement does not exist, but Power switched out the Royal product that was sold to us. We were deceived in the presentation. Please note that we are finding out we were double "baited and switched", we are finding this out as the window to year #5 is closing. We never given a warranty for the Tando product. Power is unable to send a service man to Rockport to take a sample to send to Tando until October (which means we will have to pay 80 percent of the labor costs). This week l noticed that the Tando siding is bulging (warping?). Ugh! Note the Power HRG contract says any oral or written communications outside the written agreement namely the product presentation does not apply. Then, there is a sentence that says any changes require the signatures of the buyer and the contractor. We signed a contract that said any disputes must be settled by arbitration thru the American Arbitration Association. I have little doubt this case will be decided in my favor, because l had to convince Power that they had made my claim to the wrong company and to submit the claim to Tando. I was told "...we only use Royal products..." The problem is that is there is a bias toward the Contractor who has fleet of lawyers. I am 76 years old, and have three master's degrees and l cannot figure out how to start a claim through AAA. Siding two sides of my house cost $17,000. l may hire a lawyer, but then l will never be able to afford vinyl siding for the other two sides of my 170 year old house. I am also filing with the Attorney General and Consumer Affairs in Massachusetts, but the original installation in 2019 might present problems in terms of their rules What l want is Power to remove the Tanto siding and install the Royal product that was presented to us on 8/19. I am writing this review now, because the arbitration clause has a non disclosure requirement. I think consumers need to know. In summary, Power HRG does a professional and painless installation, but their business practices are careless if not predatory. read more

This is a follow up to my review from 7 months ago. After considerable delays (some of which were due to my unavailability) my service call from June of 2023 was finally attended to last weekend. Although I was told that two different crews would be here (one for the siding issue and one for the gutter issue), only one crew showed up. They really knew nothing about the gutter issue. They did a pretty good job with the siding repair, although they did leave a bit of a mess that I cleaned up a couple of days later (I guess they figured that just washing pieces of plastic off the deck is a good enough cleanup method - I found a couple of nails too). As far as the gutter issue, I think they lowered the ends where the water barely drains but that's about it. Today, with a heavy rain falling, there is minimal change to the original issue where the vast majority of the water drains on one end on both the front and back of the house. Although the gutter is covered by warranty, I doubt very much I'd call them to take care of it. It's not worth the hassle of waiting months and months for service people to show up. I'd rather call a company that specializes in gutters and can fix the issue once and for all even if it costs me a little money. It's worth it to get the job done right the first time. As far as any new work, you couldn't pay me enough money to call Power again. The only future call I will be making to them is to be placed on their "Do not call" list. read more

These guys go door to door and expect if they spend time with you after ringing your doorbell, they expect you to ink a deal. When you need to think about it - they turn rude and upset the person to whom they visited. Plan on filing several complains with the state, BBB and file a harassment complaint after a very unpleasant, rude, upsetting visit from a door to door salesman. Do not do business with them. I hired power roofing to do my roof and gutters on my new home that I just purchased. When I moved in and I realized that I don't have lights. I call an electrician and he told me that the nails that power used were too big and damage the electric al corde. I paid $900 to fixed part of the problem because the electrician didn't want to remove the nails that was in the electrical corde .I have been contacted for almost 4 months and finally they sent someone who not event a electrician , he remove the nails but he didn't restore rest of my house that didn't have lights. I have been calling them with no answer. Terrible company . read more

I was looking for a quote for a new roof. The gentlemen that came out to see me said that I needed work in the valley of the roof and it could cause possible structural damage in the future. Proceeded to advise me that I also needed venting for the roof and installation. $68K was the starting quote with a $1,600 monthly payment at 11% interest. But they offer 'first time visit' and if we accept the [payment would be $648 per month, but we had to decide then. Both my husband and myself were pressured into accepting because of the scare they put into us. After thinking it through we decided it was too much and called the next morning to cancel. I was then advised that someone would have to come and have me sign a cancellation form. The gentlemen showed up and proceeded to try to convince us to sign by reducing the services. Even got the price down to $30K,without venting. Also kept asking if we had a plan and what we would do. We told him we would take care of it. He kept pressuring. Finally we just said let us sign the forms to which he replied there are no forms to sign, it was just a way to get us back out here. How dare you take up my time? We signed the forms my husband printed online and gave them to him. To which he replied Happy Days. Be very weary of this company. ZERO STARS - DO NOT USE this company! They installed our door on rotted wood, did not caulk, seal or insulate! The company made it very clear that this is their standard practice. They only replace doors & windows it does NOT matter what the condition of the material they are installing over. I had to pay another contractor to come out and fix the door and they refused to reimburse me. * Update the cost of the other contractor was $2000 plus materials but they will only reimburse me $1000. I was in communication with a VP in the installation department who was very responsive at first but has not responded to my calls or texts since 10/25, it's now 11/4. On 1/30/2023 someone finally came to my house to inspect everything. They asked me to give them 1 week & they would be back in touch with me on 2/6 with a resolution. After multiple calls after 2/6 someone finally returned my call on 2/15 without a resolution & called back on 2/16 to tell me they would send me a $1000. EVERY penny I have spent with this company has been an absolute waste of money! I am close to $30,000 in debt with this company and I regret having them work on my house!!!! Even in their response to my review they admit to doing bad work. What type of replacement window & door company stands behind replacing a door over rotted wood? Your crew didn't even bring the issue to our attention so that we could fix it. Your company should not be licensed in this industry! Please do not use this company! Pure scam! Its been over a month and I am still waiting for them to come back and make my house look like a house. They keep scheduling and never show up. Please look at the pictures below of the house which cost $40,000. Please save yourself the headache and money. It wasn't anything they promised. Ive been asking to speak to the owner and they keep shielding me from them. Ok well originally I scored them 5 stars. The 5 stars is only for Amanda. I was asked to post a Yelp review by an inspector Fred who wanted to schedule an appointment immediately after the door was installed (Friday). So he came the day after (2-5pm). Three hours we wouldn't get back. This 5 star review was supposed to get us something in the end (we were hoping for a nice gift card----not from POWER) During the original sales presentation, we thought we locked in a rate for the year if we continued with part of the project (the door). But the inspector who keeps saying he's not a sales rep proceeded to give us quotes every 15 minutes with "this is what I will do for you" and take 10% off, another $500, cut the marketing fee, another $800 etc etc. when all we wanted him to deal with was the windex that was used to wipe our hardwood floors and the concrete steps that was cracked due to the workers throwing debris into our driveway. It went from 11K quote to around 8k (I left my husband to deal with this). In order for us to get reimbursed for our floor, he wanted to re-create the windex situation when you can clearly see that it stripped off the shine of our hardwood It also says on the index bottle not to use on wood! It's almost like he didn't believe us. But also, the garage door is more used than the front door and yet we had to build a case that this was their fault. The lock on the door was also chipped. They left us with a frozen nail polish to color in the nail spots on the red door and white one for the inside. These are all supposed to be fixed when the PM come later by. I hope not another sales pitch though. read more

What a horrible soulless company. They came to my daughter's house and went into the attic and came back down with pictures of black mold and told her the house was not fit for habitation. She called me and I went into the attic with my son. The plywood sheathing was pristine with no trace of mold. So they carry fake pictures and use scare tactics to pray on people. Power Home Remodeling can be boiled down to a cliff note: good windows, high prices, friendly service voices, god awful service organization. In a balance of pro's and con's, I can honestly say I truly wish we did not use Power Home Remodeling. The long note: in late Spring 2021, we had a very friendly door-to-door salesman convince is to load up on projects from PHR that was well-priced. When we received the paperwork it didn't look right and we were ready to pull out, however the oversight manager came over, talked us through it, and adjusted some of the items that were not addressed in our first sales run through. (This was all late Spring 2021- windows were supposed to be done late Summer 2021). Late Summer 2021, the installation was bumped due to material shortage (reasonable). Then every day of the installation, no one came, so I would have to call to find out they still didn't have the parts needed. This continued until early December 2021 (probably 5-6 pushback's, again, materials low not a big deal). Come installation day, crew arrived an hour or two early at 6:30am with no head's up, but I get up early anyway so we're good to go. Crew was friendly, all the windows were good, but one picture window had scratches between panels so it needed to be replaced. Several smaller windows also had issue opening/closing so those needed servicing. A week or two later, warranty quality comes and fixes the open/close issue windows, confirms the picture window issue so we setup a date. Now that date arrives, we go back to the traditional Power Home Remodel procedure of not calling or letting you know they are not coming, so you have to call them and go through the playful circle of pushing the date back. This continues once again, for maybe 4-5 times. (Bonus points: we did not have to pay for this stretch until it was taken care of). They finally come and replace the picture window that was marked up, and once again the new window is scratched up worse than the first. To their credit, they immediately approved that this window did not live up to expectation and needed to be replaced. New date is set, however at that time we start paying for the project (this would be probably Feb/March 2022). New replacement date to be early May 2022... traditional PHR procedure (no show, no call, no servicing). At this point to be frank, I feel like PHR and I have this playful relationship where they say they are coming, I know they aren't, I think they don't know they aren't. New date is scheduled for early June 2022 (today), no one showed up so I call. They tell me they will be in touch- separately I have been called 3-5x a day from the PHR sales team trying to upsell us on other project work. The fun, sales person calls afternoon of awaiting our ghosted service to upsell us, I tell him we are waiting on replacement still for the prior work. He kind of panicked and got off the call. I had to call back for 2nd time, they never scheduled the appointment only noted for it to be scheduled for today, here we go another pushback. And here we are, replacement supposed to be next week.. does it happen, who really knows. #unsolvedmysteries read more
