Excellent service, pricing, and follow-through. I wish all vendors were this organized and professional.

We were able to virtually change our landscape to see what would need to be done to qualify for solar and the impact it would have on our electric bill.

Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

We ended up speaking with several of the big solar installers and another couple smaller ones. They all wanted us to take huge low interest loans to buy a lower quality system than what we got with Smart Solar Energy. Smart Solar Energy allowed is to choose the equipment we wanted at no extra cost, and the overall cost was less than half what many others were trying to sell us. The install was delayed by a day because of illness then some paperwork wasn't left requiring a few extra days during install, but other than that they were great to work with and I highly recommend Smart Solar Energy.

Elemental Energy has been outstanding in post customer care. In the eight years since I've had my system, I've only had two issues which were properly taken care of. The project manager in 2008 was absolutely awful. Poor communication and someone quit so my project got pushed to no-man zone- no one was taking care of my project or communicating clearly about what was going on. I didn't write a review in 2008 because I was upset about the process. However, eight years later, the install is absolutely fantastic and the product has held up really well. Plus the person who was so awful is likely gone so thinking you'll have a better experience than I did. I'm getting quotes on battery and they are the first person I called

Our house was built in the late 1960's. Which means that the outlet plugs and other components that were installed back then (over 50 years ago) have become brittle. Jostle them a bit and they can fracture. This happened to the circuit for the room on the other side of the Battery install. Apparently they jostled the wires running to one of those outlets and it fractured it, disabling that circuit. It being a guestroom, we didn't notice it right away. When we did, Elemental did not hesitate to step up. I would use Elemental Energy again if I needed any of their services in the future.

I talk to a lot of Solor company's and they are all pretty much the same , except for some like blue raven who are a trust ally with the Oregon energy trust which help my decision making. Price was more than fair I went with a PPA since there is no more tax credit available. I am saving money already and did not have to take out a loan. I would recommend them to anyone trying to save money on their electricity bill. I think being owned by sunpower could have changed how they operate, because James , Danny and Roberto and I think the other guys name was Franco. All professional and new there stuff I did a lot of research and have sat down with many company's. These guys knew there stuff and the install came out great even had my roofer buddy check the roof after the install and he said everything look great.

When i call their support (dozens of calls which I have documented) starting FEBRUARY 2026 after new roof completion, to reinstall my panels EVEN AFTER I PAID THE THOUSANDS OF $ for their warranted reinstall. Sometimes I was on hold 30 minutes to 3 hours and got no one. Other times I was told they know I am on list to be scheduled but they cannot speak to scheduler nor can I. I asked if I call back in one week for an update could they let me know, and they said no. WHEN REINSTALL FINALLY SCHEDULED MAY 26, 2026 the technicians arrived and I gave them the box of reinstall components that sunworld/blue raven sent. These attachments weren't the necessary items SO THEY COULD NOT INSTALL MY PANELS. THE KIND TECHNICIAN ALSO DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO CALL SCHEDULER OR COORDINATOR DIRECTLY. THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN TO ANOTHER PROJECT EARLIER IN NEIGHBORHOOD THAT DAY AND CAME UPON THE BOX OF WRONG COMPONENTS SENT TO THAT JOB TO REINSTALL PANELS. What kind of company treats their paying customers with sub standard consideration and service. TWO WEEKS LATER, I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM the company or received new attachments. I went to website and AI Evan gave me a customer support number to call: 855-608-5036 specific to my query to reinstall panels after roof replacement. I shouldn't have been disappointed ONCE AGAIN THAT IT WASNT EVEN A WORKONG NUMBER. Lastly, the technicians driving the BLUE RAVEN SOLAR van QUALIFIED TO DO WARRANTY INSTALL OF PANELS expressed concern about not being paid for work if they don't install panels. Being a RN, I am outraged by a company that has no accountability for mismanaged products and services. This is why unions are required and wouldn't need to be, if companies would treat consumers and employees fair like companies owners and shareholders want to be. I have never written a review online and I hate to spend time and energy doing it. I also hate that I have spent a hundred hours trying to get my solar panels up and start collecting sun power which ai have missed for 4 UNNECESSARY MONTHS OF WHICH ENTIRELY IS FAULT OF SUNPOWER....BLUE RAVEN SOLAR OR WHATEVER THEY CALL THEMSELVES-I HOPE OTHER PEOPLE LOOKING INTO PURCHASING SOLAR PANELS CAN FIND A DIFFERENT VENDOR OR THIS COMPANY ACTS LIKE THE SAME COMPANY THE SAID THEY WERE WHEN THEY CAME DOOR TO DOOR AND SOLD ME ON THEM AND THEIR SOLAR PANEL PROGRAM.

You'd never know there was a solar experts biz here just driving by. They are in a huge, non-descript blue warehouse. I found out about them because I had an issue with my Victron unit and that company, located in the Netherlands, listed Lightharvest as their support Reps. They are the only reps anywhere near Portland. And as an earlier reviewer posted, I believe this is the only solar-centric business in Portland. They don't carry a lot of stock so they are not a retail store. But they ordered what I needed and got it to me quickly. And they beat Amazon's pricing. So I couldn't be happier. I much prefer supporting local businesses rather than big box chains and these guys really know their stuff. Excellent customer service. John and Miles instill a lot of confidence that their advice will be spot on. I'm unclear what strategy I am going to use to build an off-grid solar backup system for my essential electrical needs. But I am 100% confident that I will be using these guys for advice and parts ordering. Very happy I found this place!

I came in thinking I had my whole deal figured out and knew exactly what I needed. I was just working with a budget-friendly, portable 12V solar system for DIY festival camping and emergency preparedness, and I needed some fuses. They had what I was looking for and were patient in getting it for me, but the amount of expertise and consideration of my specific parameters they shared was phenomenal, and I left much, MUCH better equipped than I was when I pulled into their parking lot. For an EXCEPTIONALLY reasonable price, I should add. I worked with Miles and Liam, and they were both fantastic human beings who took the time to listen to what I needed and to work with me to find a solution that fit my needs and my budget. Miles in particular had some deep knowledge of the benefits and drawbacks of different brands and you could tell that he was enthusiastic about the work he was doing and the equipment he was sharing. If you know exactly what you need, I'd recommend working with them to create and confirm your order before driving out there, just so that they can make sure everything's in stock and get it put together for you ahead of time. If you don't, it'd be a good idea to be sure that they have the availability to work with you before heading their way. But the bottom line for me - as an owner of a local repair shop myself that prides itself on our above-and-beyond service to our clientele - is that either case, I have full confidence that the folks at Light Harvest Solar will share what they can and make sure you're very well taken care of. Thanks so much, gents. Serious gratitude for the time and energy you put into helping me today. If I need anything else, or as soon as I'm ready to upgrade to a truly big boy system, I will ABSOLUTELY be back.
