Can be dangerously incompetent. Not worth the risk, Called them about a plugged toilet. They could not unplug it and told me the toilet would have to be removed and replaced with a new one. Instead, I purchased a toilet auger and fixed it myself in 2 minutes. Now works fine. Had to pay them $250 for nothing but at least saved thousands of dollars by not listening to them. read more

BEWARE of this company. I would give zero stars if I could. I have never dealt with this level of unprofessionalism in my life and I've worked with a lot of contractors. I hired Doug to install the plumbing in my shop. A few months later when it was discovered that the water heater I opted for was not the appropriate one for my needs I called and asked them to come out and see if they could make any adjustments to get things working properly. I did NOT blame them or ask for any work to be done free of charge. I just asked that someone come out to take a look to see if we could troubleshoot and fix it before I pay to Install a new water heater. I was fully expecting to pay for whatever might need to be done. Instead I get an angry phone call from Doug (Calling me from his personal cell phone) yelling at me and accusing me of insisting they screwed things up. I felt like I was "in trouble" or like I had to defend myself over something that wasn't even accurate. I tried to tell him over and over that was not the case and that I just wanted someone to come out and look at things, but he just kept talking over me, confrontational and defensive like an absolute child who just couldn't stand the idea of being held accountable for the possibility that just maybe they screwed something up somehow. I had just given them thousands of dollars to do an install and was prepared to give them more of my money. I had to end the call abruptly because it was so out of hand. I then called the office and spoke with the office manager as I felt it was necessary for them to know about Doug's behavior and the overall poor communication and unwillingness to help resolve the water heater problem (Even if it meant buying a new water heater from them!). She said she would talk to the owner, then called me back and politely said that they agreed that it would be best I went elsewhere. Yeah, obviously I'm going elsewhere. From the moment that I met Doug he was unprofessional, speaking to me like a woman who doesn't know anything (something that is not uncommon with contractors, unfortunately). But I let it slide because he gave me the cheapest bid. Well, lesson learned. You get what you pay. Throughout the installation he kept trying to cut corners and do things half ass which I had to point out, politely. He kept saying he just trying to save me money... No buddy, you're just lazy and didnt think I'd notice. Don't give these people your money. Pay the extra couple hundred dollars for a PROFESSIONAL plumbing company who can guarantee their work, or at the bare minimum speak to their customers with respect. Also, it's worth noting that even though the water heater I chose wasn't the right one (though it was recommended by other plumbers), it was never communicated to me from Doug that it wouldn't work. He never even took the time to read the specs that I sent him. Literally fumbling through the manual as he was installing the plumbing- a red flag I should have paid more attention to. Well, once again I called Power Plumbing this time for what turned out to be a leak in the drain pipe from the kitchen sink that was in the wall. I have used Power Plumbing seven times in the last 24 years I have been in my home and each time they come they are absolutely fabulous. Very courteous, professional and knowledgeable as to what needs to be done to get the problem fixed. They get right in and get the job done. Don't waist time. They don't mind having a conversation while they work explaining what needs to be done and how they will make the repair. I appreciate this. He was here because I couldn't figure out why the water pressure was so weak from a new outside faucet he'd installed for me a week earlier. Power Plumbing Company responded quickly to my request and Brian arrived promptly on 6/20/2024 to replace a rusty drain pipe.However, I was overcharged for the time spent on the repair. While the replacement itself was straightforward - involving just a 5ft plastic pipe, bend joint and clamps - Brian spent an hour significant amount of time on the phone and in his truck. Although the final repair was successful, I was charged $250 per hour for 3.75 hours of work, which doesn't reflect the actual time spent on the job. Also, a charge for parts alone of is $210, was high. Total charge $1147.50. While I appreciate Brian's expertise, I feel Power Plumbing Company's billing practices were unfair and left me feeling taken advantage of. read more

We are very particular in whom we choose to service our home. We have homes in multi-states and find Portland a challenge to secure SOLID folks. Well, look no further than Power Plumbing. Absolute straight-forward and no-nonsense. It was the holiday and we had a small leak. After contacting over 5-other companies who could come sometime in February OR for an ADDED sur-charge...blah...we found Power Plumbing and they came within a couple of days and no holiday surcharge. Power Plumbing has helped out 1929 house with several issues, but when one of my hot water heaters started leaking, I contacted multiple vendors to bid the somewhat complicated project. It involved removing both old hot water heaters, moving the gas line so the new heater could be strapped to the wall and installing the new heater. The three other vendors not only would have charged me several thousand more dollars, one even charged to come out for an estimate! Power plumbing gave me a solid estimate and even assisted me with a condensation leak from the furnace. The guys did a great job and cleaned it all up when they were finished. The new heater is installed and working great! I would use them again for any plumbing issue. Who would think a new hot water heater would be so beautiful!!! :) read more

This plumbing company always gets it fixed the first time around. They always seem to have the parts they need and they show up on time and get the job done. I have quite a few rental properties and their one of only two plumbers I use regularly. They are my first call. Sometimes there response time can be a little lengthy but that's is probably because they're so good at what they do. I even use them on my own home to completely re-pipe under the house which they did it a very reasonable price and finished quickly. We had to get our whole house repiped. I got several bids but most plumbers aren't big enough to do a whole house repipe or had too many extra steps to follow. The biggest plumber in the area who is used to getting all the bids wasn't forthcoming with all the information we needed to make a decision, and I felt bullied and pushed into doing more work than was actually needed (replacing piping that didn't need to be replaced that would have added $3,500 to the price of the job). Power Plumbing came referred by a friend, and I could tell they were different by how thorough the person was who came out to do the estimate. He went into the crawl space and inspected the whole house, noting precisely what did and didn't need to be replaced, so that he could do an accurate bid. While the bid wasn't lower in price, we felt like if anything went wrong while in the middle of the huge job, they would deal with it honestly, so we chose them. The job took an entire week. Every day we left the house for work, during the day, the plumbers came in and worked while we were gone and were gone by the time we got home. Our water service was not interrupted during the time we were in the house. They also cleaned up after themselves like they weren't there at all, which was especially important because the entry to the crawl space is in my child's room and her room looked the same as how she left it. A few years back we had had rodents in our crawl space; the guys found a bunch of dead ones in traps and one day took a bag and cleared them all out and basically cleaned our crawl space for us while they were working, as well. Other plumbers stated that this type of job punches a bunch of holes in our drywall to get to the pipes but the plumbers only opened up one section of drywall behind the washer and did the rest through the crawl space, which I can imagine was more difficult than just going through the walls in the house. The damage to the walls was small enough and not in a visible location, so my husband can replace it without us needing to bring in someone to repair and paint a bunch of holes in the drywall. Other plumbers giving estimates had talked about us needing to bring tile people out to cut through tile so they could access the pipes, creating hundreds if not thousands of dollars more in damage just to get the basic work done. Overall it was surprising how easy this major work was on our family and I was very happy with the choice to use Power Plumbing. read more

Recently, I was hit with three plumbing issues at one time, due in part to the heavy snowfall and freeze of mid-Jan 2017! Sewer plug-up, broken water heater in additional dwelling and waterline break to same! Comes in three's you know!! Anyway, trying to locate assistance on these issues was like pulling teeth--everyone was having the same problems. I ended up on 4 waitlists with individual companies and many others were just too far out to wait! So, while I got the sewer issue particularly fixed--seems the real problem is mostly roots in the city's section of our line--to be fixed soon, the water heater replaced, and the broken pipe fixed (see review for Frontier Plumbing), I needed to take my name off of those waiting lists. Anyone with proper business sense would do the same! In calling Power Plumbing, and speaking to Kristin, who has been with the company for 17 years, I was given much insight into things I could do as follow-up to water and sewer issues! She suggested I check with the city on the reason for the spike in my water bill and perhaps it should have been checked, as something unusual. The pipe that has now been fixed--by Jeff, from Frontier Plumbing--might have been leaking for some time before cracking big time. Basic city meter checks should have/could have noted this earlier! Maybe a bill adjustment could be had. Never know, unless you check! As for further discussion, I mentioned the rather spending coupler placed on that discovered leaking pipe, and where I might get one. She mentioned Ferguson's, and Keller as two plumbing supply locations. Good things to know when I do this work later, if needed! We spoke for many minutes and I feel that while I did not use them for my aforementioned issues, it is good to know there are helpful, longstanding businesses out there that are more than willing to help the private citizen, even if that business did not get the job at the time. Originally called for a water main break. Two guys came out. Chris and I don't know the name of the younger one who was digging trenches in our yard. We have had nothing but issues with the areas they dug up. Carl who is the manager has never even come to the property. They now claim that our sprinkler system piping is thin and needs to be replaced with thicker so that's why it broke. We realize the piping could be thicker however we have had NO issues anywhere else othe property except where they worked. Completely unprofessional in follow up. Beware and find someone else. read more

Guys who installed and removed my old water heater were great and did an awesome job. However, they accidentally took a sealed box of dryer parts that were not theirs to take. This was especially frustrating considering that my dryer was also delivered and installed today, and I needed those parts for installation. I called the service department and they sent someone over with them but unfortunately arrived too late. Now I'm dealing with moving into my home tomorrow without a functioning dryer, and out $150 for installation. I do feel the company is honest otherwise and didn't dilly dally around or overcharge me. It is just unfortunate that this honest mistake made my move more difficult. I do appreciate their prompt fixing of the issue which is why I didn't mark the company lower. However, I do not appreciate taking boxes that are clearly marked with a name other than the installer, and will not be using this plumber in the future if other issues arise. I felt they could've offered me compensation for my installation I did not receive due to their error, which I would've used their services in the future if they had. Had these guys come out for a leaking hot water heater. Guy said tank was leaking. Had to put in a new one. Tank in use for only 6 years. He pulled it and put in a new one. Charged me, and took off before I could ask to see where the old one was leaking. Guess what! The new tank leaks just like the old one did. Called them back. There would be a service charge. I told lady that when looking at the new leak, I was close enough to notice a gas smell from the weld spot. Ok. She would send someone out. Guy squirted soapy water. Yes, there was a leak (nice job, installer). He also said the water heater needed an expansion tank to the tune of $350 plus, but luckily that includes installation. Yippee...I am wondering if this wasnt the problem with the 6 year old tank. Who knows? I never got to see it before it was hauled off! Also, only 30 day warranty on labor. I wish I could give a proper review of this company, but I can't even get them to call me back to schedule a time to take a look at the issue I'm having. I've tried twice now... both times I've called I've spoken to some very nice office ladies. but where's the follow-thru? My first call was routed to the person's voicemail that does estimates, I left a message, and 3 weeks later, still no call back. Second attempt, I requested a call back through their website, which they did same day, and I explained my situation again and said I had called before and never received a call back. I had a leaking and clogged pipe under my sink that I knew how to fix but I simply was not strong enough to open and secure the seals. I had called multiple plumbing agencies and either they were 2 or more weeks out or charged too much. I saw a good review on Facebook of Power Plumbing and decided to try them. The lady that answered was very nice and made sure to get back to me right away once she talked to one of her plumbers. The man, Tim, was out within a couple hours. Not only did he find multiple problems that he fixed quickly, he offered very good advice that would keep me from having the problem again. Avoid Power Plumbing at all exorbitant costs! On April 12, 2021, they were out to unclog an upstairs kitchen drain. The plumber did not forewarn me of possible damage to the pipes in using a snake. In fact, he never mentioned using a snake. While in my downstairs office, I heard what sounded like a jackhammer. The pipes were vibrating loudly. When I went upstairs, he had finished his job and presented me with a bill for $454.16. (This included the installation of a new kitchen faucet and the replacement of two outdoor spigots.) When the plumber left, I head water running. I went into the downstairs bathroom and found black water covering the floor. On the other side of this wall, I found the family room carpet soaked. The plumber came back and fixed this broken pipe after cutting up the walls. That evening, I found water leaking under the kitchen sink. Another broken pipe! Two days later, they returned and fixed it. Well, I thought, they have at least repaired the damage they caused at no cost. Ha! Two days later two more bills came: one for $577.88 to fix the first pipe they broke, and the second for $635.25 for the second pipe they broke, totaling $1667.29! And this, of course, does not include the ten to fifteen thousand dollars in damages to my house. I called the company and said I would have to 1) talk to my lawyer before paying; and, 2) talk to my insurance company, both of which I did and after which I reluctantly paid both additional bills. Two days after paying both bills (three bills in total, all paid), I received a certified Notice of Right to a Lien in the event I didn't pay the bills within eight days, bills I had already paid. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a service coming to my home. To start he snaked my shower and failed to put the screws back into the cover. Second when he went fix the leak in my kitchen sink he forgot that he detached the pipes, turned the water on and flooded under my sink. Third he installed a cartridge to fix the problem and apparently that did not work because within day it was leaking again. I did not call them to report these problems immediately because the plumber that come into my house tried to pick me up. As a single mom with kids I found the situation to be very uncomfortable to have to deal with a situation like that in my own home. I finally got the courage to call them back a few months later. They refused to give me any credit to have a new faucet installed. Plus the same guy came to my house. I did not tell them about him trying to pick me up. But once he leaves I will call them and let them know. read more
