PowerZone is the best health shake place I've ever been to. I've been getting so much dental work done lately that I'm practically living off their shakes. If you want an amazing chocolate shake, get the Peanut Butter Cup with CarbWatchers Lean Body Chocolate Ice Cream and almond milk. Here's the thing: I cannot do fake sugars or almond milk. But this stuff tastes like what a chocolate shake from your favorite fast food place wants to be when it grows up. There is a ridiculous, glitzy boutique milkshake place just east of here, and it is depressing. PowerZone is the opposite. The people working here, on top of being phenomenally polite, fast, helpful and professional, look like what you would like if you actually put in the work you'd have to put in to justify your gym membership. It's immaculate and laid out meticulously with every giant thing of powdered workout supplement ever made. Plenty of parking in a lot right next door, PowerZone validation gets you 30 minutes free in in a neighborhood notorious for its lack of it. Do tip, they deserve it. read more

You'd think a GNC knock-off place near a gym in WeHo would be overpriced, right? Wrong! This place has really good deals on most of their protein shakes and training supplements. They also have an in-store "bar" and the staff is very cool and helpful. I've gotten steals on Creatine, Glutamine, ABB products, and NoXplode. Recently, they've made it so that you need to become a "member" to get their discounts, but . . .membership is free. read more
