This is my first month living here and I'm starting to understand why are there so many apartments available. Its a beautiful complex but there's always a catch. There's bugs everywhere. They bombard you with restriction emails that were never discussed in the leasing agreement and expect people to oblige. I work at least 14hrs a day I don't have time for emails and letters about rules you never communicated. To add to all this. I try to call no response, left voicemails with no response, wrote several email and yet no response. Its really weird because when I was just checking out the place they would respond immediately. We pay good money for them to start with restrictions on the terrace spaces. I understand if you have a mess and use it for storage. You as a landlord should address it individually. But when you're just spending money to get a little privacy and get the terrace looking good you don't want someone to make up new rules. Here's hoping that a yelp review would get them to respond emails and phone calls. read more

It is a really bad place to live because you will hear crazy children running around and yelling all the long plus your upstairs neighbor will sound like an elephant. Maybe they don't know how to walk like a human because whenever they walk you can feel the movement. The entire apartment is shaking. Also. After living there for 7 and a half years, I have experienced the good, the Bad and the ugly of this place. When we moved in, things was pretty good. The maintenance staff was good, upkeep was good etc. As the years went ahead things started to get downhill. When Prado took over the place, it went from being a nice community to a dump, while raising the rent. Prado also took any power away from the managers in the leasing office, whom I wouldn't be surprised if they are being replaced by kiosks in the near future. In our last year there, I would see roaches on a very frequent basis - most times dead fortunately. Anyways - After living there for 7.5 years, we finally had enough with the $500 rent increase over TWO years - This especially as the maintenance crews were downsized to a minimum - A paint job that Started in April - and, as of November, is STILL not complete, the 'new lighting' in the garage, looks like it is being done by the school children across the street - but the kicker have to be them charging late fees AND THEN mail you a notice that your rent is no longer on auto pay. Honestly - The ONLY people there who deserves their pay is the Maintenance crew - and they deserve a raise too. With the conditions they work under, they are true miracle makers. read more

I love living at Prado! 3 and a half years and counting! The staff is so friendly and the maintenance is awesome here. The community is enjoyable and the neighborhood is full of beautiful trees and landscaping. Also, fire alarms are systems that can have issues, it happens at many of my friends apartment buildings too. Stuff is bound to happen. It's been a month since our roach episode... Pest control came and sprayed around our unit, and said they're coming in through the cracks in our doors and holes in our drains. Maintenance was nice to come and add caulking between the doors and put mesh stoppers in our sink and bath drains. Last night, we caught another sneaky bastard coming out of our dishwasher! It crawled back in and that was that. We left a message for management around midnight and called them again this morning... Requesting pest control today, nothing happened. An hour ago, the roach decided to make his appearance again... Funny how my husband walks into the kitchen at the right time.... It crawled back into the dishwasher crack. After 20 minutes of duct taping all the openings around the dishwasher, the roach crawled it's way under our sink. There was a 10 min bleach in a spray bottle face off... And now it's nowhere to be found, again. They're coming in through the drains.... Living underground in the pipes... Making people's evenings miserable. Can't live like this. Can't wait till we leave this shithole. Pardon my language. It's frustrating to watch my hardworking hubs battle the roach for an hour. It's not his job, it's Prados job. My husband and I recently toured Prado and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a slightly older apartment community that might not appear as fancy as some of the newer luxury apartments in Glendale, but what it lacks in fancy it makes up for in value and community feel. After touring nine other apartment communities in Glendale, I truly feel Prado is the best bang for your buck! The grounds and amenities seem well maintained and the lush greenery and outdoor walkways make this complex feel like a quaint neighborhood. The apartment units felt spacious and had more than enough closets and cabinets for storage. Plus, many of the units have been renovated, so they look brand new on the inside! We toured with Kat who was friendly and honest. We never felt pushed or rushed as she was always generous with her time and conscious of our moving timeline. I would definitely recommend working with Kat, if you're thinking about touring Prado. Ultimately, we did not end up leasing here for one simple reason: community washer and dryers. We prefer in-unit washer and dryers and Prado only offers those in their Townhomes. However, if you don't mind sharing laundry facilities with your neighbors, then I highly recommend checking out Prado! read more

I have not moved in as of yet but this review is for Kristin in the Leasing Office. Kristin has been amazing through our relatively complex situation. She is on top of everything!! I am a very "seasoned" renter and know what I want in an apartment, Kristin has demonstrated amazing patience with my many many emails and when there was a small issue with the renovation of our intended unit- she had ready and provided not one but two equal alternatives and was honest that the rental rate was lower than our original unit !! We are looking forward to our new townhouse at Prado!! Thank you Kristin, integrity+honesty=trust 5/13/19- All moved in, and everything exceeded expectations!! Super clean Property, amazing staff, best location, quiet, renovations parallel with the ultra luxury without the price tag! I stayed here for about five days, because i was visiting a friend here. These apartments are pretty nice, and i personally do not have any complaints. They have good sized rooms, with a connecting screen door to the porch. Also, the bathrooms were nice, with mirrors on the closet doors leading to the bathroom. The kitchen was a bit small, but if you don't have many people living with you, it doesn't matter. I like that parking is underneath the apartments, because there is less worry about your car being vandalized or stolen. Also, the apartments are completely gated, so you need a key just to get into the complex. It made me feel safe walking around the apartments at any time of day. Also, they are in a nice area in Glendale. I did not see any bugs at all, and i would recommend these apartments to anyone living in the area (not that i even know their price). read more

Gabriel will verify that it is your apartment and then make sure you get inside. My friend and I recently moved into Prado apartments and I've experienced nothing but genuine hospitality. Kristin was out leasing manager and she was on top on responding quickly and informative. The leasing office will prioritize making a profit over ensuring that the premises are safe and habitable. The Prado advertises itself heavily as a non-smoking community. Within the first few months after moving into the Prado we notified the leasing office of our neighbor who was constantly and frequently smoking right in front of our unit causing smoke to enter our residence. If the leasing office believes it is OK to designate a smoking area directly across the street in front of another business that in-itself is a violation of Glendale's Fresh Air ordinance. They have no authority to designate any area as an acceptable smoking area. Furthermore, they haven't even taken sufficient action to keep this particular resident from smoking on his patio or in his home when they were provided with photographic evidence and numerous complaints. The response from Ms. Doles' the Prado Leasing Manager was that she cannot be expected to "police the entire community" apparently she can't be expected to ensure a safe and habitable environment free from harassment and second-hand smoke when given very specific information either. After the leasing office confronted the neighbor about the smoke he immediately started harassing behavior in retaliation to our complaint and each subsequent complaint resulted in escalated harassment and passive aggressive behavior - like sweeping his trash into a pile and leaving on our front door or openly mocking my wife as she was taking a walk with our 7 month old baby " ewww it smells like cigarette smoke." At one point, the neighbor was belligerent on his balcony yelling about how much he'd like to punch his neighbors in the face. Ms. Doles was notified and per usual was completely ineffectual in her actions suggesting only that we call the police or security. How about doing your fiduciary duty and controlling your belligerent tenant who is clearly violating multiple provisions in the lease agreement instead of just informing them that another complaint has been issued and by whom? The smoking and harassing continued until we finally had enough and left before our lease was up because I could not, in good conscious, subject my family to any further harassment or second-hand smoke. At which time Ms. Doles implied that we only wanted to leave because of a proposed increase and that they thought the matter with the neighbor was resolved. Not only is that untrue and insulting but is also symptomatic of her management style. If she put half as much effort into making sure people weren't being harassed and bombarded with smoke as she does trying to collect fees, we wouldn't be in this situation to begin with. I guess she missed our response to the email survey sent out a few months ago and the we emails sent that she claims to have no record of after April and in-person complaints don't count as notice of an ongoing problem. Not once did she take a proactive approach to check with us and see if the matter was resolved and now she claims to just have assumed it was. No sense of fiduciary duty here- entirely unprofessional. Bottom line is that the Prado office was on notice for longer than 6 months and failed to take adequate corrective measures which have forced us to vacate the property rather than continue to risk our health and well-being. read more

So it's been a month and a half since I moved here and it's been a nightmare. First off prior to moving into my town house, it wasn't properly cleaned. I had to clean the place myself for 3 days (plus I'm pregnant) and I hired a cleaning service company before bringing in my furniture so that was a waste of a week. After, I notice a bunch of rust on the microwave and refrigerator which they switched out. The washer and dryer wasn't properly working and they were refusing to change it because gum with lint stuck inside the dryer wasn't a problem for them but for me it was. After using the washer/dryer for 3 weeks it started making a bagging noise and they said it was fine. I told them to replace it or else I'll buy a new one and invoice them and finally after going back and forth with them they finally did! The master bedroom shower had rust all around the whole frame! That took months for them to replace since they never got back to me or never heard from them to know exactly when it was going to be replaced. I don't know why the blinds here are so uneven it's ridiculous. Even the walls and floors are not leveled correctly and they squeak when you walk! Also, when I walk in my bedroom everything shakes! Sometimes I felt like the floor would collapse! Not a great feeling. My closet mirrors were scratched up and the tracks were filthy and rusted!They had to be switch out but never heard a single word about it. The only thing they did change was the dirty tracks that were there before. Management apologize about the dirty apartment they gave us and hired someone to clean our place at no charge which was a waste of two hrs plus a waste of my supplies! This girl they hired was using cheap product like "fabuloso" and she didn't even have clean towels/ cloths to begin with. I had to hire the cleaning service I hired prior to moving in again to clean the mess the girl made since I couldn't do it cause I was pregnant. Before moving in I had asked Kristin if I have to worry about any bugs or insects coming into my house since I saw those roach pictures on yelp, she said no there's no such thing and I shouldn't worry about it. It's been 3 weeks now since I put in my complaint in regards to crickets getting in thru the back door and spiders since it's not properly sealed. The maintenance guy said he was gonna take care of it on Monday 01/19/15 but it's been a week already and no show. My fiancé and I had to deal with these bugs coming into our house and the embarrassment when having ppl over. Oh yea I forgot to mention you will have random ppl park in your spot with a note stating if that is your spot to call them so they can move their car since someone parked in there's.... Pretty stupid right? Reconsider before moving here. Oh yea and every time you call the office they don't even answer your calls! read more

Edit: Two weeks ago, we received a memo that our bikes must be stored in the parking garage, (despite the recent rash of car break-ins). Last night, *gasp* someone cut our cord lock and stole our bikes from the parking garage. And yet they continually resist installing security cameras or hiring security to patrol at night. I can handle the children running rampant, the constant "remodeling" and ridiculous water waste associated with their new (non-drought tolerant) landscaping. They charge an exorbitant amount on rent and none of it goes into the accommodations. Our windows are paper thin so you can hear everything going on outside, including full conversation, not to mention we pay more in utilities. The dishwasher really does not clean. Have 2 dogs and is a very nice and pleasant location to take them walking and I never feel unsafe here. Constant construction on at least one unit around you. Fire alarms go off all the time..good luck getting sleep. Want your rent raised every year? Choose Prado. No hot water or no water at all? Choose Prado. Water pressure guy outside every Monday morning with the loudest generator. Tree trimmers with chain saws at 8am. The stomping from my upstairs neighbors is unreal. I have asked them several times to be more light footed. Didn't work. Sounds like a safari. I even know their work schedule judging by when they wake up, stomping starts at about 6am, ends around 9, home again at 5. Elephants are back. For $2200 a month I shouldn't have to deal with all of this. Avoid. read more

Don't rent here, worse experience and service. I lived here 1 year, and had to move because of a $200 rent hike. To think, they can raise rent that much, with the level of upkeeping that's actually existing is ridiculous. I swear, these guys think they're competing with prices of brand new apartment homes around the area, mind you, this building is 30 years old, and need to lower their rent, if anything; the leasing office hardly, helps in turtle speed to try, and get anything done in tenants' favors, and the building management isn't helpful, as everyone who works here, has a "that's your problem" attitude, with everything. I'm not joking you, such cold shoulder run arounds, for a building that is supposed to cater to their residents, actually, treats you like an inconvenience and gives more stressful experiences than good, I was like the others who thought moving in, was so wonderful, but months after living there, you see all the imperfections and hassle created by, the entire residential policies and old state of the entire building. Not-to-mention the fees that's charged, for an old building is truly, unwelcoming. No matter, how I've expressed this negligent acts, NO ONE AT THIS PLACE CARES, the leasing office and maintenance members don't even live there, says a lot. Their website is so deceitful, doesn't even let you post reviews, don't trust these guys, and even their management team, Equity. I honestly can't understand the bad reviews on here, and think it's crazy that out of a whole apartment complex, just 2 disgruntled residents can give them such a bad reputation. We have lived here for over a year and haven't had a single problem the entire time. Any time we need anything fixed (like a light bulb, or our AC vent cleaned) it happens within hours. For such a busy and close-knit complex, the noise is absolutely minimal and we find all the common areas to be clean and well maintained. Also, the 'flooding' in the garage is no more than a puddle at best. There are constantly maintenance men on site cleaning, fixing and maintaining the living areas and the staff in the office are approachable and helpful. We have been very happy living here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for this type of accommodation in Glendale. read more

Prado apartments has the worse management any apartment complex could have, and runs itself like a corporate bully (owned by Equity Residential). They lie through their teeth and have their maintenance crew cover up dangerous situations (like mold in the walls) that can cause irreversible physical and mental damage. When you inform them of their several mistakes, they call in their lawyers for harassing them. Prado apartments reeks havoc to its renters and does nothing to ensure their renters' safety or well-being. Renters beware! There are plenty of cheaper and better places in Glendale. If you have loud children, whom you love to leave unattended- where they can run and scream and disturb other residence, then please by all means move here. If you love having fire alarms randomly go off at any hour...this place is for you. If you enjoy being able to hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do in their own dwelling, then please move here. If you like to go to the grocery store and walk back with the shopping cart, please come here and add to the collection! Do you have loud barking dogs with separation anxiety, that howl when you leave (the entire time you are gone)? This complex doesn't have enough, bring 'em on! Yes, the office will answer your call if you have a complaint during business hours. Yes, they will tell you they will take care of it. Don't hold your breath. The loud screaming, running, soccer/basketball playing, unattended children will wake you...weekday or weekend when they come tearing down a hallway or thru the courtyards at dawn. They'll ruin your weekend afternoons when all you want to do is watch a movie, or read a book. If you're really lucky, these kids will also use your front door as a place to kick their soccer ball at, or use it as a base when playing tag (word of advice, don't get a first floor apartment...or any apartment that faces a courtyard- which is all of them here). I had been calling the office to report all of this, but nothing really changed. An email was sent to the residence to remind them that unattended children should not be playing in common areas...the peace lasted for 2 days. There is no one patrolling the complex to enforce any of their rules. I've actually been instructed to call Glendale PD or the after hours Courtesy Patrol number for noise complaints...I'm just going to take a guess that because they can't really do anything, they would rather me deal with the cops than calling the office again. If you do get a first floor apartment, the fun starts as early as 6:30am; then you'll get the most excitement the minute the kids have returned from school around 2:45/3:00pm, and that noise will last until well after dark. The soccer kids usually show up around 8pm. They will sound like they are in your apartment due to shoddy installation of doors and windows. If you are unfortunate enough to work from home, there are some kids that carry on (read that, scream) for the better part of the late morning, into early afternoon. Good luck getting any work done. The fire alarms haven't been going off as much as they did when we first moved in, and supposedly they are working on it...but anytime they have a "vendor" in the complex they manage to go off. Like the three times this week. Hopefully you won't have to deal with the 2am false alarms like we did our first month living here. I don't even go outside anymore because they are all false alarms. If you have an upstairs neighbor, you will hear every step they take, when they are using the restroom; when they're being intimate; when they are having friends over- EVERYTHING. It's an apartment, so I would expect to hear some things...just not EVERYTHING. The shopping carts just seem to keep piling up. There were several being stored in the hallways, and last weekend there was about 20 lined up on the sidewalk outside by the corner, not going anywhere. There were several just standing alone by the curbs on the street where residence park if they don't have a parking space in the garage- really tacky. There are a bunch of dogs here, which leads to squealing from the children when one is walking by- or yelling from the kids when they take it upon themselves to be unsupervised dog walkers...not using leashes. It seems that the apartment doesn't care if the dogs poop on the sidewalks, in the common areas, or pee on anything that has a right angle- watch your step. The best dogs are the ones who can't stand to be left alone and run from one end of their apartment to the other (in one particular instance the patio door is left open so it can run out there too), barking, crying and howling for hours on end. It's particularly great when they continue to howl long after you need to be asleep to wake up for work the next morning. Due to the dogs, we've now seen 2 ticks in our apartment. We also had an ant problem. It took the exterminator several days to show up and when he did he informed me that the giant dirt piles (the planters that used to contain plants in the common areas) are a breading ground for ants, and we just so happen to have one as a patio wall. He said the ticks are probably from all of the dogs, or it could be the shared laundry facility. I would not recommend anyone moving here. If you value your sanity, you won't. I've already started counting down the days until we can get the hell out of here. read more

The name has changed but the place is the same. This is the former Archstone Apartments. Worst place I have ever lived, and I traveled a lot with the US Army. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that goes on from your neighbors. If you live next to someone with kids, good luck sleeping. Management is pretty much useless. They just give you the run around. The fire alarm goes off all the time, even at five in the morning, with no explanations. The parking garage is always flooded with water, and no one knows why. You get all this for $1600 a month! Oh and after a year your rent will go up $200 minimum, and if you don't sign a lease it's $2,000. That's for one bedroom btw. Welcome to Glendale, no rent control and no common sense. I ended up renting a HOUSE for the same price. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these big corporations. This place irritates me. I have been living here for more than 4 years & I start to hate it even more. First off, the fire alarm goes off all the time but I never see the fire truck outside. I can't even tell if there's an actual real fire, if it's a test to see if they work, or if someone pulled the damn fire alarm. Secondly, the people who work in the office. It's like no one is ever in the office ever since it changed to prado or whatever. This one day I went to pick up a package and no one was there & the door was locked but the sign said welcome. I knocked just in case someone was hiding in the other room but no one answered. I went back & it was closed. I looked through a small crack in the blinds & I saw someone sitting there on the computer. I called the office & they didn't even pick up the phone. Great customer service guys haha, what a fucking joke. Lastly, when it rains here the stairs are wet which is a hazard because anyone can slip and fall! There may be a drain near the edge of the stairs but for some reason not all of the rain water is being drained, do something about that! Keep all this up & you'll definitely lose customers. I cannot wait to move out of these apartments. Perhaps instead of spending the obscenely high rent payments on gardens and who knows what else, they could invest in some insulation. You can hear every step your upstairs neighbors take. This place is so shoddy you can hear people two floors above you. The whole place shakes anytime anyone walks down the hallway. Perhaps they could also invest in a courtesy patrol since the staff doesn't seem to have any impact on parents who seem to think it's just fine to let their children run/skate/roll around in the hallways, screaming and yelling. Perhaps they could fix the elevators too...Considering how much residents pay to live here, you'd expect more. I would never recommend this place to anyone, unless they were deaf. read more

I have been staying in this apartment since last 3 years and have been very satisfied so far. The leasing staff is very friendly and always helpful in resolving any issues related to the apartment. We lived in Prado apartments for two years before moving to a new city. The apartment was fine (clean and no bugs :) ). Management and the maintenance was great. Reggie is super helpful. During our stay at Prado we had some minor issues with the apartment but those issues were fixed quickly. read more

I've been living in Prado Apartments for almost 8 months now, and I have been very satisfied. I live in a 3-bedroom place, and it has a large living room/dining room, nice-sized rooms for an apartment, and although the kitchen is a tad small, it has not been a problem. I live on the 2nd floor, and on occasion I hear people outside my window, but not that often. Even when there are kids playing outside, they're not all that loud in my opinion, and I'm pretty sensitive to noise. Kristin and Reggie have been very nice, and helpful since I moved in as well. Of course you have to realize that this is an apartment, and other people have lived here before, so here and there you'll find evidence that the apartment is not brand new, but nothing unusual. When I first moved in, the place smelled like a new house, and they had obviously put effort into making it look nice for us. The only not as good feature is the drawers in the kitchen are not as sturdy as I would like, but they certainly work fine. Overall I would highly recommend these apartments. especially the 3-bed--the price is pretty decent deal for LA, if you have 3 people to split it between, and I researched a lot of apartments and their prices around here before I decided on this one.
