My daughter loves the chocolate croissants, cookies and flourless brownies, as I do the standard croissant. My review was more out of disappointment as I was excited to and looking forward to joining the club. And I was frustrated at my inability to join the club. What makes my updated review 4 stars. We do love the pastry items we get, when I ever order a pastry they always grab them from the fresh pastries from the rack and not the ones on display to give the customer the best experience. As for the latte, as I saw in other reviews and have noticed myself, and often in the times I have went, notice new employees on a few times. The person who helped me and made my lattes was very polite and helpful, she may be new to lattes, practice makes perfect. I use to drink lattes almost daily and have not had one in a few years and was super excited to have a latte again. Also walking in I noticed they remodeled and change the configuration of the counter to allow for a nice indoor seating area. Lastly I have heard of My Dads Chips and had wanted to find a place that had them. I have bought these chips here and these are now my family's favorite chips and we order them by the box from My Dads Chips. It's great to see restaurants using and supporting local businesses which is another reason I like coming to Fresh Baguette. I look forward to my next time coming here. I do recommend this place. -------- Went in today and was going to get lattes so thought I would join the club. Was happy to see first month free. I tried for over 30 minute. To join using two payment methods and app attempts were denied. I mentioned to employee I had been trying to join the club but all morning been getting a whoops subscription purchase failed on two cards. She said she would give me the discount and ordered an ice latte and hot latte. The speed the lattes were made I found surprising. As a person who drinks a lot of lattes I know it's a process that takes 1-2 min per latte. She had both done in 2 min. I didn't see if she used a milk frother or not. When o left I opened my latte and it had something o would not consider froth, it had large bubbles and had no smoothness. I asked for both lattes to have vanilla. She only did the iced with vanilla. The Iced latte, being in a clear container you could see the milk on the bottom it came up about half way. It was not mixed and all you could taste was the milk with a hint of vanilla. I would compare the hot latte to one that you can make in an office coffee machine that has packets. It was very weak. Your pastries are good but my god I am glad that I didn't join the club even if the first month is free. On top of that even though she said she would give me the discount, she charged me full price. I would have complained but I have a lot of fatigue as I have stage iv cancer and just completed 39 radiation sessions. Will be back for pasties and desserts, but your coffee products with the experience I had today was vending machine quality.

Waffled between 1 and 2 stars - didn't hate the place but the 1 star description of 'Not good'…read morereally captures my experience so I'm going with it. On the upside - found free parking, the restaurant is large and seeming clean, and the 'ambiance', as is often noted by reviewers, is bright and cheerful. Our food, such as it was, came quickly. On the downside - my wife and I were at the end of a 7 or so customer line, which moved fairly well. When it was our turn, however, with no one behind us - well, the 2 cashiers who 'take your order' just stopped doing that. No eye contact - one turned away to get a drink for a customer (OK got that) and the other just... turned away. That's it - she just turned her back on us and gazed off towards the kitchen as if we didn't exist. Ouch. It took a bit of a wait, then three 'Hello?' (Hello?? HELLO??) before she sullenly turned and took our order. A bad start. I ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich - yum, right? - and my wife ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich. Chips available? Nope. Soda? Well we have some lemonade. Fine. (Well, not really. The lemonade - from a can, not made by Tatte - had plenty of lemon. What it didn't have was much if any sweetener. Yikes) Where to sit? Well good luck. On this hot day more than half the indoor seats were taken by solo 'diners' sipping on water while browsing on laptops - the other had actual customers. Outside we went. Guess Tatte wants that Starbucks you-don't-have-to-eat-just-take-all-the-seats vibe. Our sandwiches arrived and things went more downhill. In their defense I now see the picture of the 'Short Rib Grilled Cheese' sandwich on the web site is accurate - it looks like a car accident (check it out). The barely grilled bread contained LOTS AND LOTS of beet-horseradish relish - what it didn't contain was much short rib (maybe a tablespoon spread thinly) and if you could see or taste any cheese you're doing better than I did. It was pretty much a beet-horseradish relish sandwich - I ate about half before bailing. My wife's sandwich looked a bit better - hey there's some turkey! - but she said it was flavorless. Guess we could have headed into the laptop restaurant for salt but we were too lazy. Quite confused by the (non-laptop) crowd that frequents this place, mostly 'women who lunch' who seemed quite happy, but after browsing the reviews I think you may like this place if you get some coffee and a pastry. I'll never find out.

The cakes and desserts were nicely packaged with custom branding. We recommend an enclosed instructions on how to eat. The cake slices were beautifully packaged in one box and the frosting & sauces were individually packaged in glass jars. We ate the first 2 slices without the frosting or sauces because we didn't know. Once we ate combined the proper sauces and frosting..... Oh my! The cake batter is a little dense but moist and flavorful. Not overly sweet like typical store cake. Very smart recipe . The light , low key cake batter lets out light hints of batter flavor. It allows the icing to be the star. The icing and frosting are unbelievable! It is bursting full of natural flavors . The orange curd were made of fresh orange pulp and you can't taste the ingredients well. Overall, the best cake I have ever had. If you're looking for a cake that will wow and impress your guests, this is it. Everyone will be asking where did you buy this cake? Now the crème brûlée, it was rich, creamy and delicious! It came complete with a gold dusted cherry. Very impressed by this find and looking forward to ordering a birthday cake!

I ordered the chai tea latte, bacon twist, and spinach and feta quiche. The chai was delicious, not too spicy and not too sugary. The bacon cheese twist was much sweeter than I was expecting. I was hoping for something very savory, but the brown sugar made it more like a sweet pastry. It would be cool if they had two versions - one salty and one sweet. The quiche was my favorite item, the crust just melts in your mouth, yet it wasn't super heavy. It was a perfect way to start the day that would be just enough to get me through until lunchtime. If I worked in Chevy Chase, I'd be here every day for breakfast and coffee. It's so much better than Starbucks. I'd much rather get my sugar from quality baked goods than from syrupy coffee.

I ordered the Nicoise salad, which came with canned tuna. Sorry; since I have been to restaurants that serve it with grilled fresh tuna over the salad, I can no longer be happy with this. The other components (egg, potato, green beans) were simply boiled, no dressing except for the spinach. It wasn't bad, but it was also something I could easily have put together at home. Nothin' special. The others had the lobster benedict. While they were happy with the quantity of lobster, I did not hear any oohs or aahs about the taste. Service was either paced for a leisurely lunch, or too slow, depending on how you like to dine. If this is your neighborhood restaurant, it is a fine place to dine in good weather. I wouldn't cross town for it. Perhaps the lack of effort is because the focus is on the bakery downstairs, but the bistro upstairs falls just short of that je ne sais quoi that you want from a restaurant experience. Come on, Pralines, just a little more finesse!
