The building had a beautiful window and Joe seemed really nice but he made me uncomfortable because when he was showing me around his facility he always had a grin on his face and went out of his way to stand close enough to me that i could smell him. I ended up renting a space here for two months. After I dropped off my boat and trailer I went back the next day to get some things I forgot and when I got there the gate was left open. I drove in and Joe was inside my boat going through the drawers and all my things were spread out all over the place. He told me that I "left a light on" and that he was "just trying to turn if off." I took my trailer and boat home with me and I ended up taking it to Chinook RV storage in Portland off Marine Drive. Very professional people here, no weird employees wandering around and it was cheaper. Feel alot better about this place!

There used to be a community room, it's now the owners "mancave". He has a sticker on the office window that says he accepts credit cards, that's a lie. This guy is stuck in the 80's and only accepts paper checks. The old owner just ran our card for rent, it was super convenient. My neighbor had a tree limb fall on his trailer during a storm, the owner didn't want to contact insurance to properly take care of the issue. Instead he tries to make deals like a used car salesman. (I have a feeling that's going to come back to bite him, karma does that) There used to be professional landscapers to take care of the park, now a teenager does it and doesn't even bag the grass. Not to mention the owner, Chip went to do some weed eating because he's so cheap, the idiot broke my truck window with a rock while doing so. He also threatened to kick me out because I used a blower to clean up his grass mess. The grass was being tracked everywhere! So we did move. Best decision I've made in a long time. The fellow longterm campers now call the park "Hitler's camp". I know a bit dramatic but he does walk around the park 24/7 and pretends to be your friend, then dictates and tries to tell you what to do. The way I see it, he just has a big case of little man syndrome. It's like owning a bar and also drinking in it on a nightly basis. Just something you shouldn't do. People that have been here for a long time are leaving solely because of the new owner. I can't reccomend NOT staying here enough, seriously. Fairview or sandy river rv park would be my recomendation if you need to be on the east side.

I will stay here when rooms are booked at McMenamins and since I have a trailer, why not. I personally like this place. It's clean, it's quiet, and the people are so kind (employees and residents). I love watching the people walking by with their dogs. I feel like it's a doggy parade. I do appreciate that everyone follows the leash rule and keeps their doggies on leash when walking them. It just makes it safe for other dogs. We have stayed on the creek side only but I may venture to the river side next time. One the creek side it is quiet. I know the river side is closer to the I-84 so I am curious how much louder it will be. I guess I may find out this summer. I definitely recommend staying here when you have something going on at Edgefield or honestly, just stay here just because it's a great place.

Overall its a good place to stay. We started off a little rough due to them not having our forms…read moreready when we arrived late night. Another camper had a similar issue even though we payed in advance. We stayed for nearly a month. The park itself is clean, it had a mini gym with a few machines and equipment. The gym has restrooms and a kitchen (along with a table with free items). The restrooms and showers are clean. The dog parks were far (one across the street from the park as you enter and one way across the site) so we didnt use them. Areas dont have any benches and the grass was extremely dry since they dont water it (almost like hay like since it was dry). We watered our grass and it begun to grow, but they never cut the grass. The office staff were helpful and addressed any concerns immediately. Some days they were friendly and other days they seemed bothered. Nothing for children. In the guidelines it stated children may not play in roads (many cars drive fast so I see why as it's a safety concern) Dumpsters are clean and get picked up often. Different dumpsters around the entire part. There is a restaurant at the boat doc that had great food and service (other places in Portland disappointed us). Downtown Portland is rough. A lot of homelessness and drug addicts. We had witnessed a man on drugs what appeared to be dragging a dead body in a sleeping bag. Definitely don't want to be downtown when it starts to get dark. Locals said it was the norm to see homeless people dead on sidewalks in sleeping bags. Close to the Washington border, however traffic on the bridge is crazy! They also have a night security.
