First before I express my satisfaction with my experience with Pratt chimney repair I want to say pratt chimney repair is the most professional firm I have ever done business with in the last 30 years. I called the morning after the recent Windstorm and the receptionist was polite and professional all business she told me someone would be over to my home to check out the damage in a few hours. Two hours later the owner Steve arrived to look over the damage he went on the roof to see firsthand the damage, he took the damage Chimney Cap with him and said he would try to get a new cap made as soon as possible and have it installed as soon as the cap was made he would try for a fast turnaround time. now this chimney is not the normal size cap it's around 40 x 48 located 40 ft off the ground. the company kept me informed on a timely basis on the progress of my repair. In about a day and a half I was notified that the owner Steve and the crew were coming over early afternoon to repair my chimney when they arrived they went right to work. While installing a new cap they discovered damage exhaust pipes inside the chimney they replace the damage pipes with new ones. The owner crawled inside the chimney and made sure the pipes were repaired and secured. They did install the Chimney Cap and Security in place they put the caps on the two exhaust pipes and then they caulked the screws and seems and they were finished the owner and the crew were professional courteous and thorough the owner Steve has a high level of Integrity. The company provides quality and responsive service I highly recommend them. Steve is the real deal, it's refreshing dealing with a business owner who stands behind his work. Thank you very much. Very impressed with this company. We have a wood burning stove that was installed by a previous homeowner and we had them out for an inspection and cleaning. Unsurprisingly considering other work we've found in the house, it turns out this was improperly installed and was actually a fire risk. They gave us a quote to do it properly but we passed since we don't need it to heat the house. Still, they only charged for an inspection and advised they wouldn't clean the chimney since it should not be used at all. Really great communication and explanation of the issues. You're situation may be different from my experience. We had Pratt come to clean our chimney. We were then told there had been a chimney fire and a $8200 quote to repair. I forwarded to my insurance company, who asked that I get additional quotes...and I did. The "second opinions" concluded that there had been NO fire and the chimney was safe. I'm just suggesting that you get a second opinion before agreeing to the repair. read more

I am very happy with Pratt's Chimney service. I had contacted them to review a problem where I had soot on the outside of my house and on the inside fireplace glass. I was not sure what was wrong. When the technician reviewed my issues, he knew it was not the chimney and quickly found it was the improper placement of the logs in the gas fireplace. He showed me on the vendor website for my exact gas fireplace, that my logs needed to be set in a specific way, and mine did not match the space. The technician fixed the logs, cleaned out the soot in the fireplace and glass and it now functions great (and clean!) He was very nice and helpful and kept everything clean. I'm currently enjoying a roaring fire in my fire place I was never really sure would ever work. 3 years ago we bought a home with a "working wood burning fireplace", but that was not the case. Our living room would fill with smoke the moment we tried to start a fire. We tried everything with several different companies: a chimney sweep, we re-built the fire box, added extra ventilation...nothing would work. We were about to convert it to gas when we decided to take one more stab at it and called Pratt. They took one look at our chimney lining and knew it was too small. We had heard that before and had been told it would be impossible to remove. But these guys were completely unfazed. They took on the hard work of removing the old liner...grueling work on a hot summer day, all with a smile and an amazing attitude. When they had to call in a few reinforcements, they didn't charge us more because it might have been a harder job than they originally expected. They sincerely wanted to deliver on their promises...that they would get that liner out, get a new one in, and get the fire place working. It took 2 days, a lot of hard work, but they got the job done...just in time for the cool weather. We are so very grateful for their hard work, expertise, and friendly/confident/down-to-earth attitude on the job. And when they were done the cleaned the place up, clean as a whistle...you would hardly know they were there. I am very pleased with Pratt's Professional Chimney Service. My family has just moved into a new home with a wood burning fireplace. We had Pratt's come out to clean and inspect our chimney. Prior to them coming out, I was informed it would be a about two hundred bucks for a cleaning and inspection. When Shawn came out, he inspected it and told us it was very clean and would not need to be swept. Being ignorant on the subject completely, I was very appreciative of their honesty. We were told they wouldn't be charging us since it was so clean. Who does that nowadays? They also noticed our refractory panels were cracked and offered to order and and replace them for us. Communication was clear and concise with them. After they installed the panels they painted them for me and cleaned up cleaner than they found it. Extremely satisfied with the quality of work done by Pratts chimney. Not knowing anything about how fireplaces are constructed Steve, the owner, and his techs took the time to explain in detail what they were doing and why they where doing it. They showed up on time and made extra sure that they were extra clean. Chimney relining is extremely messy. However they brought in brand new tarps. Took off their boots and made sure they cleaned up everything when they where done. Pratts is a family business and I like that too. Overall I have absolutely nothing negative to say.
