We had pretty significant hail storm damage due to a storm cell that passed through last Spring. Our roof, gutters, wood fence, children's outdoor play set area, exterior light fixtures, gables, and garage doors were all pelted pretty badly. I contacted Praus Roofing and Construction and met with Chris Parrish. It was refreshing to be approached by pros with years of working in the north Texas area versus some 'fly-by night' storm-chasing roofing company from out of state (plenty of them were leaving door pamphlets on our porch!). Before you knew it, Chris was on the roof assessing the damage, as well as walking around the house perimeter checking the fence lines, AC units and more. We met back inside my home to discuss options and review examples of past projects. I was pretty content with what Presented and thought the pricing was fair for the quality I was looking for, so, I signed up! After our initial meeting, the team was out within a week. Throughout the process, Chris was very transparent about the way the roofing construction industry works with insurance and about the quality and selection of products they have. He kept me updated across the process and was onsite to watch the crew as well. They work with state of the art signing documents software that gave me records, and Praus was very mobile when it comes to updates on my account. Our roof was complete within a day and a half or so and we are pleased with the work. The one issue we had was the satellite dish on our home wasn't positioned correctly to get the signal back. I had to call the provider to get it back working. I'll admit it was an ultra-sensitive positioning that could only be resolved by the cable provider, so I didn't ding Praus for it. We've had several storms come through since and have not had any issues. The fence repairs (restraining and protection) came out nicely and the kiddos' play set was saved. I did have issues with my insurance company trying to be coy with how they cover certain things (gutters!). Chris/Praus was willing to go to bat And fight for everything it could which I was thankful for. Chris even recommended some potential providers to help out with better coverage next time. In the end we are satisfied, happy, and feel safe. I even recommended their service to a few of my neighbors. Next time a storm rolls through, I'd definitely hit up Praus. read more

First things first, I have yet to work with Praus Construction. That said, I can attest to Jarrod Kolb who recently joined Praus Construction. I hired Jarrod when he worked at his previous employer to replace my roof after last years hailstorm. So here is the deal. I had my roof replaced three years ago (hailstorm) and hired the same roofing contractor that all my neighbors hired (his brother lives down the street) and I, along with many of my neighbors got burned badly from this decision. I didn't want to get burned again so I interviewed 6 different contractors. Jarrod was patient with me and was the only contractor that supplied me up front and without my asking, his license number, proof of insurance, 3 references of homeowners with houses similar to mine and a fair quote. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Jarrod was at my home and walked with the insurance adjuster to make sure all damage was noted. He is an affable guy and doesn't try to sell or snow you. Jarrod was at my home when his crew replaced the roof and also determined the source of a leak (never repaired by previous roofing contractor) and fixed it. His crew left the site clean at the end of the day and did multiple sweeps for nails in the yard afterwards. Two weeks after the job and Jarrod was paid, I noticed a vent pipe in the attic was knocked loose. Jarrod came out that same day and repaired it. I fully endorse and recommend Jarrod Kolb. It is my sincere hope that Praus Construction reflects his dedication to customer satisfaction. When the next hailstorm destroys my roof I will be calling Jarrod. You should too. Recently found a leak in our attic that led us to look into the integrity of our roof. I was referred to Praus Construction by my MIL and gave them a call. They responded very promptly and professionally and they had Trent McClain out to my house to take a look at things. With his guidance, we realized that our roof was in a state that insurance was sure to cover. Sure enough, the assessor decided we were due for a new roof. Once we decided to send off the go ahead, Trent took over and made sure that insurance covered everything and then some, even finding some things that they initially missed. He quarterbacked the whole process and made sure things went smoothly. The replacement was super quick, taking less than a day, and they were very thorough in collecting any leftover nails and debris. Trent even went over the property himself several times to double and triple check. Overall we couldn't be happier with our decision to use these guys, and were very impressed with the professionalism and promptness. I had some areas of concern on my roof from the recent rains and a small leak! I noticed a few Praus Construction yard signs in my neighborhood. I'm a new To Yelp and I thought it would be good to check them out 1st before calling. I found that they had a good reputation, however not allot of reviews. Noticed they had a bunch on the not recommended section. But spoke to my neighbor and they all checked out! Russell and Jarrod came and met with me ON TIME and went over a list of items that could be of concern. What I really liked was that they took pictures and were able to show me what they were seeing. All in all, they were polite and professional and resolved my concerns on the spot with some simple fixes until the roof can be replaced! I will definitely be using them for my replacement. Jarrod and Russ walked me thru the process of dealing with insurance. Jarrod was outstanding throughout the entire process. The day after the tornado tore apart my roof, Jarrod and his team were there, patching up open spots and making sure my roof was sealed ahead of the approaching storms. He even lent us his reciprocating saw to make it easier to saw off the tree limbs from the fallen trees on my roof (which had previously been sawing by hand!). When it came time for quotes and communication, Jarrod was excellent. We had multiple constructive conversations about the repairs I needed, the roof I wanted, and when we would be able to get the job done. He made sure I was well-aware of every step in the process. The pièce de résistance was the work he was able to do with my insurance company. There had been a bunch of back and forth with the insurance, trying to get them cut me the check I needed to pay for my roof. I've had some repairs completed in the past on one of my rentals and decided it was time for a inspection for replacing my roof. I have a great relationship with Jarrod at Praus Construction. He is very patient and walked me through the insurance process from the beginning to the end. If it wasn't for his attention I would have been lost! He made it a simple process and was very impressed with his commitments and communication. I wasn't able to be there for the day of the re roof. He sent me pictures and updates as it progressed. I can't say enough about the job Chris Parrish and Praus Construction did with our roof. From the start of the claim, Chris was on top of everything. He was always prompt to appointments and unfortunately had to meet with multiple insurance adjusters. There could have been gaps in communication, but Chris was well organized and did an excellent job of providing all of the information to each of them and keeping us informed. Chris also continued to make sure our damage was fully accounted for and raised multiple issues that came up and took care of them. The scheduling was seamless as well. The crew arrived on time and completed the job on time. On top of it, we had recently planted sod and they worked around it! They put all of the shingles and materials on the sidewalk and other parts of the yard to prevent damage to our sod! Rarely would you expect a roofing company to state that you did not need a new roof. Well maybe you would but I was surprised nonetheless. Brandon B. came out promptly when called due to a leak I had on my patio. I was expecting the worst and trying to determine next steps. Turns out one of the attic fans had a leak and needed replacing. Brandons professionalism, sense of humor about wanting to replace my "big beautiful roof" but it not needing it was greatly appreciated. You can tell a company's integrity by their employees and he did not disappoint. He arranged to have the fan replaced for a very reasonable price and followed up to ensure I was completely satisfied. Under the supervision of Jarrod Kolb a new roof was installed at our home in North Dallas. This included installation of metal box vents and four wind turbines, and coordination with a firm which installed new gutters. We were extremely pleased with Mr. Kolb's professional and personal advice and attention to this complicated project. In addition he offered to repair and stain our backyard fence. We also found a hole in the garage facing from which a Possum escaped from our attic, and Mr. Kolb offered to repair it with appropriate hard-to-find lumber.
