My wife and I are very pleased with the Solar Power system that was installed by SunPower. The entire process was very simple and was completed in less than a month from signing the contract to getting approval for use by SDG&E. We chose the lease option which cut our bill in half from using the utilities power. Additionally, the installation was the best I've seen. All cabling was passed through the walls of our home (as opposed to running conduit on the outside of our house). The fuse box and WiFi based data reporting box were all mounted in our garage except for the mandatory 220V circuit breaker that must be mounted on the outside of the home. I also wanted to mention that customer service provided by our solar consultant, Kristin Kirk and the team at Precis was excellent. We were kept up-to-date with all stages of the project through email and telephone. I would highly recommend SunPower by Precis as your solar service provider! read more

From the inital quotation/design stage all the way through system turn-on, these guys were terrific. Their pricing was competitive, their installation team was great and the system works as well as I had hoped. The worst customer service program imaginable. Not only did we have to wait 6 weeks for a repair, but we are now trying to transfer the solar service to the buyers of our home. Transferring this lease has taken 6 weeks, has held up 2 escrows, has kept our escrow company, our realtor and us on the phone for hours to the Phillipines trying to get the attention of a competent person, only to find out that "someone" in Texas who works Tues.-Thurs has to notarize the transfer. I got quotes from different solar companies, including Tim Marquez of SunPower. I was thankful he was honest and told me he couldn't meet the 2.0 install deadline so I purchased my solar system through another company. My own research confirmed SunPower uses the highest quality panels available, but it was more important to me to not get caught up in CA solar 2.0. The "other" company tried to collect full price when they didn't install new roofing and flashing as they agreed to do. Luckily I took pictures everyday of their install. After months of fighting with them, they agreed to only charge me for the actual services provided, imagine that! Since my debacle with the other guys, I referred Tim Marquez to my in laws. Signed contract in Dec 2022 for panels on my top of the line aluminum patio roof. Super strong roof with steel beams and steel posts in 3++ feet concrete. Said no problem installing on that patio roof. Set for March/April 2023 install. In June still no install. I told my rep Paul Walker I'm going to be out of town for months of July and August. Said no problem, go on your trip and you won't lose your priority on installation. Got back Aug 25 and called and text Paul NUMEROUS times thru the entire month of September. Never a response. Also started to call the main office in Wildomar and talked to a nice girl in the office. Said she saw a note in the file that one of the engineers had an issue with patio roof installation. I said ok, please have someone call me back to discuss issues and explore other options. Still no call back from Paul Walker. Talked to girl in office numerous times, and she kept apologizing saying she has left a new message on the engineers desk every time I called. Bottomline, never a call back, totally ignored me the entire month of Sept. Talk about unprofessional! ..... Based on Precis' unprofessionalism, SDG&E allowed me to get a new contractor and maintain my NEM-2 approval. I was able to find an AWESOME company, Cosmic Solar & Roofing, local in Vista. They also install "Sunpower" panels which are the ones I wanted because they are the highest rated/best solar panels made. Cosmic is GREAT! They were also $6,000 cheaper than Precis for the same job (actually, I got newer and better panels from Cosmic). "Precis" is HORRIBLE ---- "Cosmic" is AWESOME!!! read more

Let me start by saying the install by Precis was nothing less than perfect. they are professional, up front and do great work. Sun Power, the company you have the lease with and provide the actual equipment are the worst. year 1 panels did great year 2 inverters fail and cant get parts to fix for 4 months. Reimbursement is .16 KwH which is way less that what SDGE charges. The next year 2019 panels produce less than when panels had bad inverters for 4 months. They seem to monitor the system but no notification of anything wrong. No money to cover their failed guarantee. I hope I can figure out how to get out of the lease and mess we have gotten in with a terrible product and non-existent customer service. Again Precis is great, talk to them about what they can offer. beware of SunPower as they have terrible service and terrible product. read more

Great experience all around. From my sales rep. Mike Echan to the finished product. I was given a 6 week time table for the full install (which is the best I got from multiple companies). It only took 4 weeks. The crew showed up on time, ready to work, 15 panels installed in less then a day. Very clean look on my roof, no wires showing. The office was easy to get a hold of and super helpful. Real people answer the phone (no automated system). Cant say enough positive things. And there are no hidden fees. Precis Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Wildomar, California

Sunpower by Precis is the company that installed our Sunpower solar electricity system in 2016, and all went well. We needed to replace our asphalt shingle roof in 2022 which required temporary removal and then replacement of the solar panels. We ended up forced to use Sunpower by Precis to handle the removal and replacement. This is because we had to use a Sunpower approved contractor, and none but Sunpower by Precis would accept the job. Sunpower by Precis's price for the removal and replacement was roughly double what we were quoted by non-Sunpower approved contractors, but we had no choice but to use Sunpower by Precis. That was the first problem. The replacement of the panels was completed late in the day on 10/31/22. Two additional major problems surfaced subsequently. First, the roofing company inspected the roof after the panels were reinstalled and found serious damage to the new roof by Sunpower by Precis. The cost to repair the damage was $1,500.00, for which Sunpower by Precis refused to reimburse us. Then, on 12/01/22 I checked our monthly Sunpower production for November and found that the system produced only about a third of what is should have. Sunpower by Precis sent a technician out to check the system on 12/05/22. He found that 12 out of the 18 panels were connected to the system with the polarity reversed, and corrected the problem. Unfortunately, the loss of production during November and December ended up costing us approximately $1,000.00, in addition to the $1,500.00 in roof damage, for a total of $2,500.00. Sunpower by Precis steadfastly refused to reimburse us for any of these costs. In March of 2023 we began the process of filing complaints with both the Contractors State License Board and Sunpower by Precis's bond company. Finally, in early May, due to the complaints we filed, they agreed to pay us the $2,500.00, which they did on 05/15/23. read more

Its almost year end and now they are telling me the installation will not happen until next year. I have converter failed, call the company they can't give me the date because it on back order. I call Baker electronic get the same answer. I read the contract, all it mention is "if something goes wrong the solar can't give out the amount they promise then they will give you 15 cents per KLW that they under produce. SDGE charge me wayyyy more than 15 cents. I will continue to wait until they give me new converter. Now I have two Bill to pay. One from SDGE $400 and the other one from the solar company $254. I am on my two month waiting for them to replace my converter. read more

We started out kinda rough, mainly from an inexperienced sales rep or two. The install crew is top notch. Great quality workmanship and good personalities to match. I went with 125 watt panels that were highly recommended. I was told they were so good they would over produce for the first few years. I have 34 of them equaling 5.1KW. I have never gotten more than 4.2KW out of them at one time. I wasn't expecting a 20% down slope right after install. They told me to make sure the panels were clean, I went to the roof and scrubbed ever panel spotless. Still the same results. I still haven't gotten what I was told by my original sales rep and that's disappointing. The upper management doesn't seem to care about what I was told I was getting compared to what I got. I assume since they were already paid in full, it makes no sense to give the customer anything else. The 3 stars I gave were for Precis sales reps, the install crew gets 5 Stars from me. Mainly Billy and Luis. Turned in a referral slip about 5 weeks ago from a buddy of mine and haven't heard back from them. Called a few minutes ago and was told I will be getting a call back. Overall I am satisfied with the job that was done. I still need five more of these panels just to get the power that I was promised. That's the disappointing part. Edit.... Referral check was there. Maybe issues with my phone and receiving voicemails. I have had this issue with my phone before. Everything else is being looked into by the company. Hoping for a great outcome. Edit II 7/24/2015. So after having them out to recheck the entire system. They have come to the conclusion that everything is working fine. Please read all the small print about the solar panels you are buying. Just because they say 150 watts don't mean that's what you getting. Those 150 watts are under laboratory condition and not real life numbers. The 112 watts I get "Real Numbers" are about 75% of the potential. Although while the technician was here, I saw a spike to almost 4900 watts. I would also like to give out credit to the tech. He explained everything in detail. I think that the sales rep could learn from him. Great customer service and an explanation of details is mandatory in today's market. I can't change my rating yet, but they are working with me to fix some issues with my previous sales rep. I see an effort to resolve my issue. That's a great starting point. read more

I waited until my final meeting with Wrede Whitney, the Sales Specialist whom I first met with, before I submitted my review. I will have to say this, my experience was SOLID from the initial meeting, until my last discussion with Wrede. I work for a large corporation, and expected a LOT from this experience. I got just that, with a flare of home town goodness from a local company. I had 5 different quotes and meetings with different solar specialists from around the San Diego area. I can tell you that Wrede was the only one who sold what I wanted and needed, at the highest degree of satisfaction. He sold ONLY what I needed, which was a 4.83KW System, with the best SunPower X21-345 Panels, and configured them very neatly on my rooftop, with no exposed electrical tubing or extra racking. Along with that, the installation of the inverter in my garage was professionally done by Colton, and closed out by Luis. These guys were truly incredible installers, and wonderful polite people. No leftover messes, all holes were patched to my satisfaction, and all equipment was tested, and performs wonderfully. Lastly, Maegan and Ariana are true pros at what they do in the office. They wanted to make sure I was taken care of from start to finish. Kudos to the people I did not meet in person, but were delightful to work with over the phone. I would have to say this company has been a pleasure to work with, and gets my grade of A+ overall.
